Definitions
- the invention relates to a package consisting of a box body formed by folding and gluing operations according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention further relates to a method for filling such packages.
- Automation has already reached a very high level in the packaging industry.
- the bottler obtains pre-printed blanks from the packaging manufacturer, which are then glued to box bodies on an in-house system and filled with packaging material.
- the automation of the filling process often presents difficulties in that the filling openings of the packaging are difficult to access.
- the packaging is subject to certain requirements with regard to security against unauthorized opening or against unauthorized removal of packaging material.
- the packaging is therefore sometimes subject to completely opposite requirements.
- CH-A 572 853 (equivalent to US-A 3,921,895) has made known packaging which is suitable for packaging ampoules on an automatic filling line.
- the ampoules are placed in openings in a multiply folded prismatic hollow body, which is also a side wall of the packaging forms.
- the blank is delivered flat to the bottler. This straightens the prismatic hollow body and stabilizes the box body by gluing the prismatic hollow body to two adjacent side walls of the packaging. These side walls are fixed to the prismatic hollow body with a web attached to the side walls, so that the two webs run parallel to the rear wall after the gluing.
- the packaging is filled from the outside by pushing the ampoules from the outside through the openings in the prismatic hollow body.
- the outer openings on the prismatic hollow body are closed by a cover strip assigned to the cover when the cover is glued.
- the packaging according to the previously published older patent has several shortcomings.
- the insertion of the ampoules into the openings is a relatively complex and complicated filling process. There is a risk that if the openings are not punched out correctly, individual ampoules will be broken when inserted.
- the use of such packaging for packaging goods other than ampoules is practically impossible on an automatic filling line.
- the box opening is difficult to access from above and does not correspond to the full usable width of the packaging.
- This object is achieved according to the invention by a packaging which has the features in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.
- the process for filling such a packaging is characterized by only a few and extremely simple work exits.
- the object is alternatively achieved by a method which has the features in the characterizing part of claim 14 or which has the features in the characterizing part of claim 15.
- the two parallel side walls of the packaging designed as a prismatic hollow body ensure constant pressure stability over the entire width of the packaging.
- the width of the box opening i.e. the distance from the inner wall to the inner wall between the two hollow bodies corresponds to the useful width of the packaging, which greatly facilitates filling, as will be shown below.
- the two hollow bodies make the interior of the packaging practically inaccessible when the lid is folded down and taped shut.
- the configuration of the material section can be chosen as desired.
- the material section can, for example, also be printed with important information regarding the contents of the packaging, which is of great advantage particularly in the case of packaging for medicines.
- the box body can be stabilized with the material section alone, be it by inserting or by gluing, without further help.
- the filling opening of the packaging corresponds to the entire usable base area of the packaging interior.
- the connecting parts have the additional advantage that the packaging no longer has any adjacent wall parts from the outside, which are not connected to one another. As a result, the contents of the package are no longer accessible even with a flat object such as a knife, for example, without damaging the packaging or without piercing the connecting parts folded in the closed state.
- the material section is a web which is provided at both ends with an insertion tongue inserted into the prismatic hollow body. In this way, after the prismatic hollow body has been erected, the box body can be stabilized by inserting the insertion tongues.
- the insertion tongues can be formed by an incision in the web, which extends over the entire width or only over part of the width of the web, in which case the prismatic hollow bodies must also be incised in order to enable the insertion tongues to be inserted completely.
- the completely cut-in bar has the advantage that it remains vertical even when the tongue is inserted, which makes filling easier.
- the box body has a relatively good lateral stability even before the cover is glued, with the web only partially cut.
- the packaging can be provided with a packaging insert particularly advantageously according to the features in claim 12.
- the packaging insert is held in place in the packaging without gluing, since on the one hand it is held down by the web and on the other hand the holding web which is supported on the cutouts in the fastening tongues prevents it from sliding out.
- the packaging insert is a shaft part
- ampoules in particular can be packaged in a simple manner.
- the ampoules are also held by the bridge so that they cannot easily fall out when the lid is opened.
- FIG. 1 shows a basic blank for a packaging according to the invention, which is punched out from a material web such as cardboard, plastic film, metal film or from a laminate of these materials.
- the blank consists of a rear wall 2, to which a side wall 4 and a cover 3 are connected at the top and a side wall 5 and a web 6 are connected at the bottom.
- laterally adjacent to the back wall 2 each mirrored an outer - wall 12 of the later glued together prismatic hollow body, an upper surface 11 of the prismatic hollow body, an inner wall 9 of the prismatic hollow body and a fastening tongue 10 for the prismatic hollow body.
- the outer walls 12 of the prismatic hollow body later correspond to a side wall 8 of the packaging.
- the side walls 4 and 5 and the outer walls 12 obviously have the same width, since these wall parts define the height of the packaging.
- the last-mentioned side wall parts are connected to one another at their adjacent ends with a connecting part 13. All adjoining wall sections of the blank are delimited from one another by fold lines 15, which allow the wall sections to be folded over by means of suitable devices.
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the blank according to FIG. 1, but with a prepared prismatic hollow body.
- the top of the hollow body 11, the inner wall of the hollow body 9 and the fastening tongue 10 are folded over the outer wall 12 of the hollow body, the fastening tongue 10 being glued to the rear wall 2.
- the blank as shown in Figure 2 is produced by the packaging manufacturer and delivered to the bottler already printed.
- the flat blanks are obviously extremely easy to pack because they take up little space.
- the prepared blanks can also be hung together as a tape. a roll to be delivered to the bottler.
- the connecting parts 13 can also be omitted, so that the adjoining side walls are not connected to one another.
- the filler transfers the blanks delivered as a stack or on a roll to an automatic gluing and filling station.
- To fill the packaging it is important that the box body is stabilized first. This is necessary because the side walls have a tendency to return to their original flat position after folding up. Only a stabili - lized box body, for example, on a Vakuumför derband transported and fed to the individual workstations.
- the two prismatic hollow bodies 7 running parallel to the closing direction A of the cover 3 are first erected.
- the inner wall 9 and the outer wall 12 of the hollow body execute a parallelogram-like movement until both wall parts are at right angles to the rear wall 2.
- the connecting parts 13 in the corners of the box body are folded when the side walls are erected around a central fold 14 in the direction of arrow B against the inside of the box until they run parallel to the side wall 5 or to the side wall 4 and lie against the end face of the two prismatic hollow bodies. If the connecting parts 13 are present, the two prismatic hollow bodies are evidently already held in an upright position when the two side walls 4 and 5 are held upright by suitable means.
- the prismatic hollow bodies can only be folded back into the flat starting position if the adjacent side walls 4 and 5 are also folded back again. This creates a stabilized box body without the web 6 having to be glued to the top 11 of the prismatic hollow body.
- the entire base area of the rear wall 2 is thus available as a filling opening, which allows a particularly efficient filling of the box.
- the folded connecting parts 14 obviously improve the tightness of the packaging in the corner areas.
- the connecting parts 13 are omitted for certain reasons, it is necessary to first glue the web 6 to the top 11 of the prismatic hollow body 7 in order to stabilize the box 6-pers, as is shown in FIG. 4, for example.
- the packaging is extremely easy to fill, since the interior is accessible at an angle from above.
- the width of the web 6 depends on the dimension of the packaging and according to the packaging content. In certain applications, it is easily conceivable to pull the web 6 over the entire length of the prismatic hollow body 7, so that, for example, the cover 3 can be shortened.
- the web 6 can, however, also be used for decorative purposes, for example by punching viewing windows out of the web.
- the web does not necessarily have to be a strip of material with parallel side walls.
- the outermost boundary edge of the web directed against the inside of the box could have any configuration.
- certain packaging inserts can also be inserted before the pre-stabilized box body is filled.
- corrugated cardboard elements for filling ampoules or similar cylindrical objects.
- the packaging insert can also be a deep-drawn part or a punched and folded cardboard part.
- the packaging subdivision is also made from the same blank as the packaging itself.
- a further material section could be connected to one or both fastening tongues 10, from which a subdivision is formed which, like the prismatic hollow bodies, can be folded flat.
- a partition 31 arranged on the fastening tongue 10 is e.g. indicated in Figure 7.
- the two prismatic hollow bodies form quiver-like containers, which can also be used in certain applications.
- an instruction leaflet can be inserted.
- the hinge-like cover 3 fastened to the side wall 4 is folded over and glued to the web 6.
- the cover for tearing is provided with two predetermined tear lines 16, which extend over the corner regions 30 of the cover on the side of the web 6.
- This arrangement has the advantage that only in each case 30 glue must be applied to the web 6 under the corner areas.
- an insertion tongue 17 is punched into the cover 3, which tongue can be pushed under the web 6 for reclosing after the cover has been opened for the first time.
- the predetermined tear line could also extend parallel to the web 6 over the entire length of the cover 3. Such a straight formation of the predetermined tear line is preferably carried out with relatively narrow box bodies.
- FIG. 6 shows a blank 1 in which, as in the blank according to FIG. 2, the prismatic hollow bodies are already glued to the rear wall 2.
- the cut differs from the cut according to FIG. 2 on the one hand in that the connecting parts 13 between the side walls are missing.
- a tongue 27 is arranged at both ends of the web 6.
- the insertion tongues are formed by an incision 28 in the web 6, which extends over the entire width of the web.
- the prismatic hollow bodies 7 are again erected first.
- the insertion tongues 27 are then inserted into the prismatic hollow body, the insertion tongues coming directly under the top 11 of the hollow body.
- the insertion tongues 27 are preferably slightly beveled at the front in order to facilitate mechanical insertion. Since the incision 28 extends over the entire width of the web 6, the web 6 remains in a vertical position even when the insertion tongues are inserted, or can be folded back into this position. This means that the filling opening of the packaging is optimally accessible from above.
- the web 6 remaining between the prismatic hollow bodies could also be omitted entirely, so that only the two insertion tongues 27 remain on the side wall 5. In such a case, however, the cover 3 would have to extend beyond the side wall 5 in order to ensure a perfect closure.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 show a further exemplary embodiment of a blank, in which no connecting parts 13 are likewise provided.
- the web 6 is provided with an incision 28 only over part of its width.
- the incision is approximately wedge-shaped to make it easier to put it together later.
- an incision 29 is also provided on each of the two prismatic hollow bodies. This incision 29 lies in the region of the fold between the inner wall 9 and the top 11 of the prismatic hollow body.
- the incisions 29 are also approximately wedge-shaped in order to facilitate insertion.
- FIGS. 8 and 9 If the blank is assembled according to FIGS. 8 and 9, the incisions 28 and 29 work together in such a way that the insertion tongues 27 can be fully inserted.
- Figure 10 again shows the phase of plugging together. Since the incision 28 does not extend over the entire width of the web, the insertion tongues 27 remain connected to the web 6 laterally. As a result, a simple lateral stability between the side wall 5 and the prismatic hollow bodies 7 is achieved simply by plugging them together.
- a stable box body is formed without gluing or additional external supports, which can be transported and filled on a packaging line. Only for closing the box is glue applied to the free top 11 of the hollow body and to the web 6.
- two predetermined tear lines 16 can preferably also be arranged in this exemplary embodiment, which extend over the corner regions 30 of the cover. When the cover is torn open, these corner areas remain on the web 6 or on the top 11, where they bring about a permanent and firm connection between the web 6 and the top 11.
- the lid 3 could be attached in other ways instead of glues.
- the lid could also be attached to the prismatic hollow bodies and / or to the web by staples. With plastic packaging, the lid could be welded.
- adhesive labels other aids such as Banderoles, strapping or shrink sleeves are used to hold the cover 3 in place.
- FIGS. 13 and 14 show a blank which is suitable for fastening a packaging insert 32.
- the only difference from the blanks already shown and described is that the two fastening tongues 10 each have a cutout 33. These cutouts are arranged on the side facing away from the side wall 4 with the cover 3, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 14. The edges of the cutouts form a stop for the packaging insert, as shown in FIG. 15.
- the packaging insert 32 is shown as a shaft part with a flat bottom 34.
- the bottom 34 has a folded-over retaining web 35, which runs parallel to the bottom 34 and bears against the rear wall 2.
- the bottom 34 of the packaging insert lies on the two fastening tongues 10, so that the holding web 35 obviously lies in the same plane as the fastening tongues. Since the holding web 35 engages in the two cutouts 33, it is not possible for the packaging insert to slide out against the side wall 4 with the cover.
- the packaging insert 32 is secured by the web 6, which is fastened to the prismatic hollow bodies 7.
- the packaging insert is thus held in place without a direct connection to the blank, which makes it easier to produce the packaging.
- FIG. 16 shows a filling process in which individual blanks are removed from a stack 25.
- the blanks are first pressed into an erection matrix 18.
- Erecting matrix is understood to mean any device that erects the prismatic hollow body.
- the erected hollow bodies 7 are then sprayed with adhesive at the top by means of adhesive nozzles 19.
- the web 6 is folded over and attached to the top of the prismatic hollow body.
- the packaging stabilized in this way arrives on a vacuum conveyor belt 20 or on a driving chain, where it is fed to a filling station 21. At the filling station, depending on the type and nature of the packaged goods, they reach the packaging by means of suction cups, feed chutes, etc.
- the web 6 is again provided with adhesive using an adhesive nozzle 19, so that the cover 3 can be folded over and attached to the web 6.
- the fully filled and glued packaging can, for example, be fed to an automatic stacking machine 22, which stacks the individual packaging. Instead of the individual blanks fed in batches, the blanks could also be removed from a roll, as shown in FIG.
- FIG. 17 shows a modified exemplary embodiment of a filling method, in which, apart from the feeding of the blanks from the roll, the web 6 is only glued after the filling.
- only blanks are suitable for this purpose, which are provided with connecting parts 13 according to FIG. 3 or from which a stable box body can be formed simply by plugging them together.
- the finished printed and prepared blanks are taken from a roll 26.
- the blanks are cut off on a cross cutter 23 so that they are the same as in the previous cut example of an erection matrix 18 can be supplied. Simultaneously with the erection of the prismatic hollow bodies, the two other parallel side walls are also erected, as was described for FIG. 3.
- the blanks can also be put together according to FIGS.
- Parallel side guides 24 can be provided along the vacuum conveyor belt 20 or along the driving chain, which hold the side walls 4 and 5 in an upright position, so that the prismatic hollow bodies 7 are also kept in an upright position via the connecting parts 13.
- the box body stabilized in this way is in turn fed to a filling station 21. If the webs 6 are not yet glued, the packaged goods can be inserted vertically into the interior of the box from above. After filling, the tops 11 of the prismatic hollow bodies are provided with adhesive by means of adhesive nozzles 19, so that the web 6 can first be attached.
- the web 6 is provided with adhesive in a further adhesive nozzle 19, so that the lid can also be closed
- adhesive in a further adhesive nozzle 19
- further work stations can be used before, in between or in the process example according to FIG
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a package consisting of a box body formed by folding and gluing operations according to the preamble of
A 572 853 (equivalent to US-A 3,921,895) has made known packaging which is suitable for packaging ampoules on an automatic filling line. The ampoules are placed in openings in a multiply folded prismatic hollow body, which is also a side wall of the packaging forms. The blank is delivered flat to the bottler. The packaging is filled from the outside by pushing the ampoules from the outside through the openings in the prismatic hollow body. The outer openings on the prismatic hollow body are closed by a cover strip assigned to the cover when the cover is glued.
The packaging according to the previously published older patent has several shortcomings. On the one hand, the insertion of the ampoules into the openings is a relatively complex and complicated filling process. There is a risk that if the openings are not punched out correctly, individual ampoules will be broken when inserted. The use of such packaging for packaging goods other than ampoules is practically impossible on an automatic filling line. The box opening is difficult to access from above and does not correspond to the full usable width of the packaging.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a packaging of the type mentioned, which can be filled with a variety of packaging goods on an automatic filling line with minimal mechanical effort and which is practically inaccessible from the outside without destroying the packaging when the lid is closed, and which in addition has a high mechanical stability to protect the packaged goods. This object is achieved according to the invention by a packaging which has the features in the characterizing part of
The two parallel side walls of the packaging designed as a prismatic hollow body ensure constant pressure stability over the entire width of the packaging. The width of the box opening, i.e. the distance from the inner wall to the inner wall between the two hollow bodies corresponds to the useful width of the packaging, which greatly facilitates filling, as will be shown below. The two hollow bodies make the interior of the packaging practically inaccessible when the lid is folded down and taped shut. Depending on the contents of the packaging, the configuration of the material section can be chosen as desired. The material section can, for example, also be printed with important information regarding the contents of the packaging, which is of great advantage particularly in the case of packaging for medicines. Since the side of the material section that is visible on the finished packaging lies on the outside of the blank, this can be done in a single printing operation without the double-sided printing of the blank being necessary. For filling, the box body can be stabilized with the material section alone, be it by inserting or by gluing, without further help.
Additional advantages, both on the packaging itself and in the process of filling it, can be achieved if the side walls which are adjacent to one another are connected to one another by connecting parts which, when the side walls are erected, can be folded against the inside of the box by a fold bisecting each connecting part and on the end faces of the prismatic parts Hollow bodies can be created. The box can be stabilized via these connecting parts without the material section being glued onto the prismatic hollow body. For stabilization it is only necessary that the side wall assigned to the material section and the side wall assigned to the cover are held in an upright position by corresponding guides. In this way, the two prismatic hollow bodies are also held in an upright position via the connecting parts, so that they cannot fold back even without gluing or plug connection. Since the section of material does not yet need to be glued, the filling opening of the packaging corresponds to the entire usable base area of the packaging interior. When filling, this has the advantage that the packaged goods can be filled into the packaging from above in the vertical direction. However, the connecting parts have the additional advantage that the packaging no longer has any adjacent wall parts from the outside, which are not connected to one another. As a result, the contents of the package are no longer accessible even with a flat object such as a knife, for example, without damaging the packaging or without piercing the connecting parts folded in the closed state.
Further advantages in the assembly of the box body can be achieved if the material section is a web which is provided at both ends with an insertion tongue inserted into the prismatic hollow body. In this way, after the prismatic hollow body has been erected, the box body can be stabilized by inserting the insertion tongues.
The insertion tongues can be formed by an incision in the web, which extends over the entire width or only over part of the width of the web, in which case the prismatic hollow bodies must also be incised in order to enable the insertion tongues to be inserted completely. The completely cut-in bar has the advantage that it remains vertical even when the tongue is inserted, which makes filling easier. In contrast, the box body has a relatively good lateral stability even before the cover is glued, with the web only partially cut.
The packaging can be provided with a packaging insert particularly advantageously according to the features in
If the packaging insert is a shaft part, ampoules in particular can be packaged in a simple manner. The ampoules, like the shaft part, are also held by the bridge so that they cannot easily fall out when the lid is opened.

Sämtliche aneinandergrenzenden Wandpartien des Zuschnitts sind durch Falzlinien 15 voneinander abgegrenzt, welche ein Umklappen der Wandpartien mittels dazu geeigneten Vorrichtungen erlauben.FIG. 1 shows a basic blank for a packaging according to the invention, which is punched out from a material web such as cardboard, plastic film, metal film or from a laminate of these materials. The blank consists of a
In bestimmten Anwen-. dungsfällen können die Verbindungsteile 13 auch weggelassen wer den, so dass die aneinander angrenzenden Seitenwände nicht miteinander verbunden sind.FIG. 2 shows a top view of the blank according to FIG. 1, but with a prepared prismatic hollow body. For this purpose, the top of the
The filler transfers the blanks delivered as a stack or on a roll to an automatic gluing and filling station. To fill the packaging, it is important that the box body is stabilized first. This is necessary because the side walls have a tendency to return to their original flat position after folding up. Only a stabili - lized box body, for example, on a Vakuumför derband transported and fed to the individual workstations.
As shown in FIG. 3, the two prismatic
If the connecting
After filling the packaging, the hinge-
Die Einsteckzungen sind durch einen Einschnitt 28 im Steg 6 gebildet, der sich über die ganze Breite des Steges erstreckt.FIG. 6 shows a blank 1 in which, as in the blank according to FIG. 2, the prismatic hollow bodies are already glued to the
To assemble the blank according to FIG. 6, the prismatic
Auch die Einschnitte 29 sind zur Erleichterung des Einsteckens etwa keilförmig ausgebildet.FIGS. 8 and 9 show a further exemplary embodiment of a blank, in which no connecting
If the blank is assembled according to FIGS. 8 and 9, the
As shown in FIG. 11, a stable box body is formed without gluing or additional external supports, which can be transported and filled on a packaging line. Only for closing the box is glue applied to the
Instead of gluing the
In Figure 15, the
Towards the top, the
Entfeuchtungsmittel usw. eingefüllt werden.FIG. 17 shows a modified exemplary embodiment of a filling method, in which, apart from the feeding of the blanks from the roll, the
