Abstract

The drawer-package concerned in the applications of the invention is characterised by a sleeve-type external case (13) and a support container (14) which comprises a bottom panel (15) receiving the object to be packaged and two box-section sides (16) articulated like a deformable parallelogram on two opposed edges of the bottom panel (15) in order to form, in the deployed position, two side pieces having on each of their internal side panels (18) a cut-out (19) serving as an opening for receiving, in a holding and supporting manner, a part of the object to be packaged. Fields of application: pharmacy, medicine, perfumery, decorations, jewellery, photography, sport, food products.

Description

The present invention relates to the applications of the drawer packaging, in particular all of cardboard, described in the parallel application filed jointly by the companies ESSILOR INTERNATIONAL and
FCP, April 8, 1993.

 The intended applications are those other than ophthalmic products of the spectacle lens type, that is to say all objects of general shape adapted to the drawer packaging described in the parallel patent application, for example general shapes. pebble or puck.

 This parallel patent application relates to a drawer packaging suitable for packaging individually a spectacle lens. It generally consists of two parts. The first part in the form of a case or sheath constitutes the external envelope while the second part forms a receptacle suitable for wedging and protecting a spectacle lens.

 The purpose of this packaging is to replace the existing receptacles produced in the form of thermoformed plastic shells, the shoulder of which is located at mid-height and is intended to support the spectacle lens. An external envelope constitutes a protective and aesthetic box with flaps in which is housed the shell protecting the glass.

 These prior shell-shaped receptacles have the following main drawbacks in the field of application to spectacle lenses.

the conformation does not allow it to adapt to
glasses of different powers glasses
resulting in variations in curvatures and
thick. So many different models
are necessary.

the presence of flaps makes the insertion operation of
the shell in the outer shell difficult to
automate.

the synthetic material of the hulls will result in brief
expiration by an obligation of recycling.

the unit price of these hulls cannot decrease
again because the tools are depreciated.

 The purpose of the packaging described in the parallel application is to remedy these drawbacks.

 To this end, the invention relates to a drawer-packaging made entirely of cardboard suitable for wedging spectacle lenses formed of a sheath in which a receptacle slides to engage, characterized in that the receptacle comprises a panel quadrangular bottom, in particular square bottom, on which the spectacle lens is placed and, along two opposite edges of this bottom panel, two box ledges articulated in deformable parallelogram to the bottom panel, between a retracted position in which they s extend flat along the plane of the bottom panel, and a deployed position in which they stand perpendicular thereto, the two box rims having in their internal side panel a cutout serving as an opening for the wedging reception glasses.

 In addition to the many advantages specific to cardboard: cost, recyclability, impact resistance, lightness at the same time as sufficient mechanical resistance, it accepts different glasses of different geometric characteristics and the packaging operation can easily be automated.

 In addition, its cost, even printed, is minimal and it can advantageously be delivered flat, whether the receptacle or its sheath.

 In addition, the receptacle is automatically centered around the glass to be protected and vice versa, centers the glass as it is placed in volume.

 The present invention is intended to extend, without limitation, the applications of the patented object to the following fields: pharmaceutical and medical products - beauty products - decorative objects - medals and decorations for jewelry, watches - computer products - portable measuring instruments - spare parts and accessories sporting and leisure articles - food products - stationery - advertising objects - containers: pots, boxes and cases, as well as the field of optical components for photography, cinema, television, visual observation and taking sight, including objectives, lenses and filters.

 To avoid constantly referring to the description of the parallel patent application and for the sake of being clear and complete, the description and the drawings of the packaging are reproduced below.

 As will be easily understood, it is a matter of keeping an object of generally equivalent or approaching shape, but more particularly of 'generally flat and approximately cylindrical shape with opposite planar or curved faces, recessed or projecting but also with faces opposites of any shape, regular or not. The shape of the lateral surface may vary, for example a shape of oblong, polygonal or other section.

 For the reasons indicated above, the description below uses as an example a spectacle lens referenced 10. It is understood that the conditioned object can be significantly different in its form and in its nature. It suffices that it can materially be contained in the packaging, that is to say be surrounded and wedged by the forms of cardboard described below.

 Thus, the example of the spectacle lens used below applies to all the products likely to be packaged in this packaging.

 The unit packaging of this spectacle lens 10 is done using a packaging 12 comprising, in an external envelope 13, a receptacle 14 suitable for its setting.

 The receptacle 14 comprises a generally quadrangular bottom panel, preferably square, on which the spectacle lens 10 is deposited, and, along two opposite edges of this bottom panel 15, preferably flush with them, two partition flanges 16 of quadrangular section, for example rectangular. These partition flanges are articulated in a deformable parallelogram to the bottom panel between a retracted position (FIG. 7A) in which they extend flat on the plane of the bottom panel and a deployed position (FIGS. 1,4,7C and 7D) in which they stand perpendicular thereto.These box rims 16 have on their internal side panel 18, flush with the bottom panel 15 according to arrangements described in more detail later, a cutout 19, constituting a wedge opening for the partial insertion of the object to be packaged.

 This conformation is particularly suitable for immobilizing a pair of glasses with or without glasses, for example a pair of sunglasses which is thus sufficiently protected for the current needs of transport, delivery and possibly of the sale and its use.

 The two box rims 16 are identical and extend parallel to each other, resting their full width on the bottom panel 15.

 Each of them successively comprises, separated by parallel fold lines 22, a side panel 23 connected integrally to the bottom panel 15 by a fold line 24, and a front panel 25.

The fold line 24 forming the corresponding edge of the bottom panel 15 is parallel to the previous fold lines 22. The two box edges 16 further comprise the side panel 18 having the cutout 19 and a connecting panel 26 by which each box is secured by bonding to the bottom panel 15.

 From one to the other of the fold lines 22 or 24 which delimit them, the side panels 18 and 23 have the same width. This width corresponds to the height of the box edges 16.

 In the embodiment shown, the receptacle 14 further comprises closing flaps 27 which, at a height at most equal to that of the box edges 16, are each respectively connected in one piece to the bottom panel 15 along the other two edges thereof, by fold lines 28 which, forming the corresponding edges of this bottom panel 15, are perpendicular to the fold lines 22, 24 of the box edges 16.

 In practice, the height of these closing flaps 27 is equal to that of the box edges 16.

 In the embodiment shown, the closing flaps 27 are connected to the box rims 16 by bellows 30 with a central fold line 31 coming, in practice at 45, from the corresponding angle of the bottom panel 15, and direction of folding opposite to that of the folding lines 22, 24 of the box edges 16.

 Each of these bellows 30 is connected to the closing flap 27 and to the side panel 23 which it connects by folding lines in the same direction as the folding lines 22, 24 of the box edges 16, namely, for the flap of closure 27, a fold line 32, which, perpendicular to the fold line 28 of this closure flap 27, is in line with the fold line 24 of the side panel 23, and, for the side panel 23, a line folding 33 which, perpendicular to the folding line 24 of this side panel 23, is in line with the folding line 28 of the closure flap 27.

 In the embodiment shown, and to facilitate folding, the central fold line 31 of the bellows 30 is locally interrupted by a cut 35.

 In practice, this cutout 35 extends to the fold line 32, and it replaces it over part of its length.

 The bellows 30 therefore generally have an arcuate appearance.

 In the embodiment shown, the lateral edges 36 of the cutout 19 that each box edge 16 has on its innermost side panel 18 are generally oblique with respect to the bottom panel 15, converging towards one another as they move away from it.

 In practice, these lateral edges 36 are each rounded in an arc of a circle, or in an arch segment having both the same center, and, coming from the fold line 22 of the lateral panel 18 which they affect, by locally interrupting this fold line 22 at one of their ends. They are connected to each other by a straight edge 37 parallel to this fold line 22 at the other of their ends.

 A cutting line 38 parallel to this straight edge 37 truncates at its end the tongue 40 released in the side panel 18 by the cutout 19, and this tongue 40 extends in one piece with the adjacent connecting panel 26, in locally extending it in its middle part.

 Likewise, and for reasons which will appear later, the fold lines 24 forming the edges of the bottom panel 15 along which the box rims 16 extend are each locally interrupted by at least one cutting in handle 41, which, directed towards the inside of the bottom panel 15 from such a fold line 24, cleaning, in continuity with the side panel 23 adjacent to the box edges 16, a tenon 42.

 In practice, two cutouts in handle 41, and therefore two tenons 42, are thus provided, at a distance from one another, on each of the two opposite edges concerned of the bottom panel 15.

 In practice, too, the receptacle 14 comes from a single piece of a single blank 14 ', made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other suitably cut, creased and folded sheet material.

 In FIG. 5, in which the blank 14 ′ is shown developed flat, and in a conventional manner, the cutting lines are represented in solid lines, and the creasing lines, and therefore of folding lines, are represented in dashes when they correspond to a first direction of folding, and in dots when they correspond to the direction of folding opposes the previous one.

 In the blank 14 ′, the side panels 23 of the box edges 16 border the bottom panel 15 alternately with the closing flaps 27, and counting from these side panels 23, extend, successively aligned with each other , for each of the box edges 16, the front panel 25, the side panel 18 and the connection panel 26.

 After bonding of the connection panels 26, as shown schematically by hatching in FIG. 5, the front panels 25, the side panels 18 and the connection panels 26 are folded over the rest of the blank 14 ', by folding 1800 around of the fold line 22 intermediate between the side panels 23 and the front panels 25.

 At the end of this folding, the connecting panels 26 and the tongues 40 which extend them are secured by gluing to the bottom panel 15, and, the box edges 16 being in the retracted position, the blank 14 'thus folded and glued is advantageously deliverable flat (figure 6).

 For its volume on its places of use, and therefore for the constitution of the receptacle 14 according to the invention, it is sufficient, after laying on the bottom panel 15, according to the arrow F1 of FIG. 7A, glasses glasses 10 to be conditioned, to exert a pushing action on the two opposite edges of this blank 14 'corresponding to the box edges 16, according to the double arrows F2 in FIG. 7A.

 The box edges 16 then pass by themselves into the deployed position, standing perpendicular to the bottom panel 15 with their front panel 25 parallel to it, FIG. 7B, and at the same time, they are clamped by the lateral edges 36 of their cutout 19 the spectacle lens 10, while maintaining this applied against the bottom panel 15, thanks to the obliquity of these lateral edges 36.

 It then suffices (FIG. 7B) to raise the closing flaps 27, according to the arrows F3 in FIG. 7C, which implies a simple folding of 90 "of these closing flaps 27 around their fold lines 28 with a joint folding of the bellows 30 around themselves on their center fold line 31, until, as shown in FIG. 7D, these closure flaps 27 also stand perpendicular to the bottom panel 15.

 In the embodiment shown, the outer casing 13 into which the receptacle 14 thus formed must be slid is reduced to a simple tubular sheath (FIG. 7E).

 In other words, this external envelope 13 comprises an alignment of main panels 44 and side panels 45 which, alternating with each other, are jointly closed in a loop on themselves by a link panel 46, along a rectangular cross section and a square contour corresponding to the cross section and the contour of the receptacle 14.

 The constitution of such an outer casing 13 being well known in itself, and not belonging specifically to the present invention, it will not be described in more detail here.

 It will suffice to indicate that, as for the receptacle 14, that outer envelope 13 can advantageously be made in one piece from a single blank of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other sheet material, suitably cut, creased, folded. and glued.

 Preferably, between the outer casing 13 thus formed and the receptacle 14 are provided stop means.

 In the embodiment shown, these stop means comprise, along two opposite edges of the bottom panel 15 of the receptacle 14, at least one lug 42 which, according to the process described above, results from a cutting in handle 41 locally interrupting the corresponding fold line 24.

 As also described above, two tenons 42 are thus provided on each of the two opposite edges of the bottom panel 15 along which the box edges 16 extend.

 In one piece with the side panels 23 by which the box edges 16 are connected to the bottom panel 15, these tenons 42 extend in the extension of these side panels 23 and they therefore protrude from the bottom panel 15 , on the side thereof opposite to the box edges 16, when these box edges 16 are themselves in the deployed position.

 At the same time, for each of the tenons 42 which the receptacle 14 thus comprises, the external envelope 13 has a complementary notch 48 along its corresponding edge.

 When, with the spectacle lens 10, the receptacle 14 is slid into the external casing 13, the pins 42 of the receptacle 14 therefore each come into engagement respectively in the notches 48 of the external casing 13, (FIGS. 4 and 7E ), which is sufficient to maintain the receptacle 14 in the external envelope 13.

 As is easy to understand, by their cutout 19, the box rims 16 of the receptacle 14 advantageously make it possible to be satisfied with different geometrical characteristics for the spectacle lens 10 as well as the other objects to be packaged. Thus, the operations necessary for the installation of a spectacle lens on a blank 14 ', for the volume setting thereof for obtaining a receptacle 14 and for the establishment of this receptacle 14 in the outer casing 13, are easily automated.

 For example, the establishment of the receptacle 14 in the outer envelope 13 is done by insertion into an outer envelope 13 already formed.

 As a variant, the external envelope 13 can be formed around the receptacle 14, by enveloping the latter.

 Anyway, when the receptacle 14 is thus slides in the outer casing 13, its box edges 16 and its closure flaps 27 are also duly held in place by it.

 Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown, but encompasses any variant.

Claims (16)

 1. Application of a drawer packaging to an object to be packaged, characterized by an outer casing (13) in a sheath, and a receptacle (14) for wedging which comprises a bottom panel (15) receiving the item to be packaged and two box edges (16) articulated in a deformable parallelogram, between a flat position and an extended position, on two opposite edges of the bottom panel (15), to form in the deployed position two straight and opposite wedging edges in the form of a box ( 16) having, on each of their internal side panels (18), facing them, a cutout (19) serving as a reception opening for holding-wedging a part of the object to be packaged.  2. Application of the packaging according to claim 1 characterized in that each cutout (19) of one of the box edges (16) of the wedging receptacle (14) has lateral edges (36) oblique to the panel of bottom (15), converging towards each other away from it.  3. Application according to claims I or 2 characterized in that each box edge (16) of the receptacle (14) is formed by a succession of panels separated from each other by a succession of fold lines (22 ), a side panel (23) connected in one piece to the bottom panel (15) by a fold line (24) parallel to the previous ones, a front panel (25), the panel (18) having the opening (19), and a connecting panel (26) by which it is secured to the bottom panel (15).  4. Application of the packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterized in that on its two other edges, the receptacle (14) has closure flaps (27) each articulated by a fold line on the panel of bottom (15) and connected to the box edges (16) by bellows (30) with median fold line (31) locally interrupted by a cutout (35).  5. Application of the packaging according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the receptacle (14) is formed from a single blank of cardboard.  6. Application of the packaging according to claim 1 characterized in that the outer envelope (13) is a simple tubular sheath.  7. Application of the packaging according to claim 6 characterized in that between the outer envelope (13) and the receptacle (14) are provided stop means cooperating with each of the edges of the opening of the envelope external.  8. Application of the drawer packaging according to claim 7 characterized in that the stop means are of the tenon type cooperating with a notch.  9. Application of the drawer packaging according to the preceding claims, characterized in that it covers the following fields: pharmaceutical and medical products - beauty products decorative objects - medals and decorations - jewelry, watches - computer products - portable measuring instruments - spare parts and accessories - sporting and leisure articles - stationery food products - advertising items - containers: pots, boxes and cases.  10. Application characterized in that it covers the field of optical components for photography, cinema, television, observation and taking pictures.  11. Application according to the preceding claim, characterized in that it covers the objectives, the lenses and the filters.  12. Application of the packaging, characterized in that it covers the glasses.  13. Application characterized in that it covers the field of perfumery and in it the jars of beauty products.  14. Application characterized in that the object to be packaged has at least one domed upper or lower face.  15 Application characterized in that the face is curved backward or projecting.  16. Application characterized in that the lateral surface of the object to be packaged has an oblong or polygonal cross-sectional shape.
