Description

The invention relates to a dispenser capsule for aerosol containers according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a dispenser capsule is known from DE-U-81 06 470. The construction described there has proven itself in practice both in terms of production technology and handling technology.

In the known dispenser capsule, however, an unnecessary fluid space is created in the tubular attachment, from which, after the spraying process has ended, that is to say after the actuating button has been released, the container contents which are still being sprayed out. This uncontrolled "spraying" is perceived as unpleasant and is therefore undesirable. Furthermore, the problem with the dispenser capsule is that when the actuation button is actuated, the spraying process only begins after the tubular extension and the feed channel have been filled, that is to say with a noticeable time lag compared to the actuation of the actuation button.

On the other hand, the known tubular approach results in manufacturing problems. Due to the material mass caused by the tubular attachment, a relatively long cooling time is required before the capsule housing can be removed from the injection mold. The degree of utilization of the injection molding machine is limited accordingly.

Finally, the known tubular approach has the disadvantage that the action on the valve tube when tilting the actuation button around the articulation is very unfavorable. Due to the long lever arm corresponding to the tubular extension, the valve tube is heavily loaded laterally, under which the tightness between the tubular extension and the valve tube and its storage in the container lid can be easily damaged.

Generic dispenser capsules for aerosol containers are also known from GB-A-1 467 847 and GB-A-2 077 860. These dispenser capsules are basically constructed similarly to the dispenser capsule according to the aforementioned utility model with regard to the design of the feed channel and the tubular extension, so that the problems described above also occur with these known dispenser capsules.

The present invention is based on the object of avoiding the disadvantages of the known distributor capsule, in particular improving the distributor capsule with regard to a response to actuation.

This object is achieved in a surprisingly simple manner by the characterizing features of claim 1.

This constructive measure achieves a minimum overall length of the tubular extension. In extreme cases, the tubular extension can have the shape of a cap, specifically when the outlet opening of the valve tube mounted in the lid of the aerosol container is located just below the feed channel in the closed state of the same. As a result, the fluid space formed by the feed channel and the tubular extension is a minimum. There is practically no undesired "spraying" after releasing the actuation button. The time delay at the start of the spraying process is also minimal. Above all, the lateral action of the tubular extension on the valve tube when actuating or tilting the actuation button around the articulated connection is minimal, so that there are no more sealing problems between the tubular extension and the valve tube. There is also no longer any risk of damage to the valve tube or its storage in the container lid due to the tubular extension. Finally, in the configuration of the dispenser capsule according to the invention, the use of materials is reduced, especially in the area of the centrally arranged tubular attachment, with the result of a reduced cooling time and a higher ejection rate of the injection molding machine.

Preferably, the actuation button has a recess extending up to this above the feed channel which extends approximately transversely to the longitudinal axis of the capsule. This recess has particular advantages in terms of production technology, since it enables undercuts to be avoided to avoid material accumulation. The recess is advantageously dimensioned according to claim 4 and designed according to claim 5.

The articulated connection between the actuation button and the capsule housing can be designed in accordance with DE-U-81 06 470. The formation of separate joint webs can, however, be avoided if the front wall of the actuating button, which has the dispensing nozzle, is formed as a continuation of the capsule wall by forming the articulated connection between the same and the capsule housing such that an articulated axis extending approximately transversely to the longitudinal axis of the capsule in the transition region between the front wall of the actuating button and the capsule wall is formed, as can be seen in a similar manner from GB-A-2 077 860. This articulated connection is considerably easier in terms of production technology than the formation of articulated webs in accordance with DE-U-81 06 470. Above all, the injection molding tool can be made correspondingly simpler.

Otherwise, the advantages of the dispenser capsule according to DE-U-81 06 470 are retained in full in the invention. These advantages can be seen in the fact that the one-piece production of the actuation button and capsule housing simplifies the manufacturing process. In addition, there is a simplification in terms of operation and functionality compared to the rest of the prior art, since additional covers for the Actuation button no longer need to be removed and it is no longer necessary to separate the actuation button and capsule housing.

A preferred embodiment of a dispenser capsule designed according to the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the attached drawing. Show it:
  • Figure 1 shows the front or spray side of a dispenser capsule designed according to the invention in a perspective view.
  • FIG. 2 shows the rear of the dispenser capsule according to FIG. 1 in a perspective view;
  • 3 shows the dispenser capsule according to FIGS. 1 and 2 placed on the upper edge of an aerosol container in vertical section with the actuation button not actuated; and
  • Fig. 4, the dispenser capsule corresponding to Fig. 3 when the actuation button is pressed.

The dispenser capsule shown in the figures is intended for aerosol containers 10, which can be made of aluminum, preferably tinplate. The dispenser capsule has an essentially cylindrical capsule housing 1, on which an actuation button 2 is formed in one piece. The actuation button 2 is arranged in a recess 3 of the cylindrical capsule housing 1 which extends across the surface. The actuation button comprises a central tubular extension 6 which can be inserted or placed in or on valve tubes 11 of the aerosol container 10, a dispensing nozzle 8 and a supply channel 7 connected to this on the one hand and to the tubular extension 6 on the other hand for the contents of the container to be distributed, e.g. Liquid. The actuation button 2 is connected to the capsule housing 1 at its rear end by means of separating webs 5 having predetermined breaking points and at the other end via an articulated connection 4. The articulated connection 4 is formed in that the front wall 14 of the actuating button 2, which has the dispensing nozzle 8, is designed as a continuation of the capsule wall 15, such that an articulated axis extending approximately transversely to the longitudinal axis 12 of the capsule in the transition region between the front wall 14 of the actuating button 2 and the capsule wall 15 arises.

When pressure is applied to the actuating button 2, the separating webs 5 are broken and the actuating button 2 is tilted downward from a position corresponding to FIG. 3 into a position corresponding to FIG. 4 about the hinge axis 16 defined above. The separating webs 5 simultaneously indicate whether unauthorized use of the Content of the aerosol container has taken place or not.

The above-mentioned distributor nozzle 8, to which the feed channel 7 is connected, is accommodated in a conventional recess provided in the front wall 14 of the actuation button 2.

To attach the dispenser capsule to an aerosol container 10, the capsule housing 1 is provided in the region of its lower edge with locking projections 9 which interact elastically with special recesses arranged on the aerosol container or on the valve tube 11.

As can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, the valve tube 11 protruding from the lid of the aerosol container 10 is pressed into the container when pressure is applied or the actuation button 2 is pressed, whereby the valve arranged in the container lid is opened in a manner known per se, so that liquid can escape from the container 10 under pressure through the valve tube 11. As can also be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, the overall length of the centrally arranged tubular extension 6 is minimal due to the arrangement of the feed channel 7 directly above the articulated connection 4 or articulated axis 16. The tubular extension 6 is reduced to a cap placed over the outlet opening of the valve tube 11. The advantages thus obtained are explained in detail in the introduction. Reference is made to the corresponding explanations.

Above the feed channel 7, which extends approximately transversely to the longitudinal axis 12 of the capsule, the actuation button 2 has a recess 13 which extends as far as the feed channel 7. The clear width of the recess 13 corresponds approximately to the outer diameter of the feed channel 7, the longitudinal extent of the recess 13 corresponds approximately to the length of the feed channel 7 plus the average diameter of the tubular extension 6. In the embodiment shown here, the recess 13 is only open at the top. It could also be designed to be open towards the front or only towards the front. The recess 13, which is approximately gap-shaped here, is obtained by a corresponding sword-like part of the injection molding tool, this part being provided with cooling channels for additionally reducing the dwell time of the distributor capsule in the injection molding tool. This measure allows the ejection rate to be increased by approximately 25 to 30% compared to the known embodiment. This increase has a significant impact on the usual millions of units per year. In addition, the use of materials in comparison with the known embodiment according to DE-GM 8 106 470 cannot be reduced insignificantly by the measures according to the invention.

The dispenser capsule can be easily adapted to a wide variety of aerosol containers in terms of its dimensions and according to requirements. This also applies to the inwardly projecting locking projections 9 in the area of the lower edge of the capsule housing 1.
