Description

The invention relates to an outer wall box for the combustion air and exhaust gas duct of a device working with a burner system according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

In a known outer wall box of this type (EP-A1-0 043 504), the combustion air and exhaust gas ducts are arranged one above the other and open into a box room through a rear wall. For this purpose, the connecting pieces for the channels are formed on this rear wall. The upper connection piece for the exhaust gas duct is extended into the box space by an outlet piece, so that the exhaust gas outlet opening is placed in front of the inlet opening of the combustion air duct. The combustion air duct, however, ends in the rear wall. An upstream cover plate is provided to shield the outlet opening from gusts of wind and unfavorable wind, which is connected to a frame wall at the top and to a partition wall at the bottom. Since the frame walls surround the inlet opening outside the cover plate, there are sufficiently large free side openings for the exhaust gas outlet. The outlet and inlet openings of these two channels are still shielded from each other by a partition in the box room. In this known outer wall box, the upper exhaust gas outlet opening and the lower combustion air inlet opening are protected against gusts of wind and unfavorable travel winds by the front box cover, but this cannot always prevent the entry of rainwater and, in particular, wash water. Furthermore, condensed water can also form, which collects in the box room. Since the flow channels to the burner system are mostly laid with a gradient, the operation of the burner can be seriously disturbed by water that has entered the outer wall box. In order to prevent rainwater from entering a supply and exhaust air duct as much as possible, a frame insert (EP-A2-0 045 833) is inserted into a rectangular connection piece built into a building wall, the bottom surface of which drops off to the outside, so that anything that has penetrated into this area Rainwater or condensed water that flows out again. Apart from the fact that a frame insert on an outer wall box of the type described above is not to be used, this insert forms a raised edge at its inner end, which even prevents water from penetrating deeper into the connection box from refluxing. Since caravans and the like Mobile rooms are often sprayed directly with washing water and are also exposed to major temperature fluctuations that lead to internal condensation, the known measures do not guarantee a satisfactory solution.

The invention is therefore based on the object of improving an outer wall box of the type mentioned in such a way that water penetration into the flow lines leading to the burner system and also harmful water accumulations are prevented.

This object is achieved on an outer wall box according to the preamble of claim 1 according to the invention by the features of the characterizing part of this claim.

The inventive design of an outer wall box prevents the water penetrating into its outlet and inlet openings from getting deeper into the flow lines because the corresponding floor areas rise up to the flow lines. Even when the outer wall box is heavily sprayed, as is often the case with boats and car washes, these inclined surfaces are sufficiently large obstacles. These inclined surfaces up to the connecting pieces also cause water which has penetrated or which has accumulated due to the formation of condensation to be discharged to the outside. In this simple way, the operational safety of a closed burner system is significantly increased. The solution according to the invention not only proves to be of great advantage on an outer wall box with a rectangular box space and a box cover, but also in connection with a cylindrical box chamber. The separate and interlocking flow channels for the combustion air and the exhaust gas in pipe form are particularly suitable for connecting flexible metal pipes or hoses. As a result of the inventive design of an outer wall box, the wall opening can be largely independent of the installation of the heater, i.e. be placed in a convenient place.

Advantageous further developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

  • Fig. 3 eine Ansicht des Außenwandkastens gemäß Fig. 2.
The invention is described in more detail below with the aid of exemplary embodiments of an outer wall box for gas firing, which are also shown schematically in the drawing. They represent:
  • 1 shows a longitudinal section through an outer wall box with spaced connecting pieces,
  • Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through another outer wall box with nested connecting pieces and
  • 3 shows a view of the outer wall box according to FIG. 2.

In the outer wall box shown in Fig. 1, an upper exhaust duct 1 and a lower combustion air duct 2, which lead to firing (not shown) of a combustion system and which are arranged close to one another, are connected gas-tight to a wall box 10 by means of the connecting pieces 5 and 6. This wall box 10 is covered on its open outside by a grid-shaped box cover 20 and is delimited by a rear wall 7 and the transverse and longitudinal walls 11 and 12. The wall box thus forms a fitting suitable for production and installation, the depth of which is expedient to behei the depth of an outer wall 13 zenden space is adapted. In this outer wall box, an outlet pipe 15 protrudes somewhat coaxially with the exhaust gas connecting piece 5 into the wall box. At its free end, it forms an outlet opening 8 for the exhaust gas. The combustion air duct 2 ends with the connecting piece 6 in the rear wall 7 and is thus open to the entire box space 18 and to an air inlet opening 9. The box cover 20 has a deflector frame 21 and a cover plate 22 which is offset from it only in the region of the exhaust gas outlet opening 8 and which extends over the entire outlet opening 8, so that it is protected against directly occurring gusts of wind. On the other hand, this cover plate does not extend to the side walls of the deflector frame 21, so that the exhaust gases can escape freely through these side openings 23. Through these openings and in particular in the area of the combustion air duct 2, which is completely lacking a cover, the ingress of water, in particular rain or wash water, is to be expected. Injected water not only remains in the box space 18 or in the outlet connection 15, but there is also the risk that water will be injected into the connection connection 5 and 6. To prevent this, the connecting pieces 5 and 6 are designed to rise rearwards from the wall box 10, as a result of which the exhaust gas and combustion air ducts 1 and 2 also initially rise upwards. Furthermore, the lower box wall 14, the enlarged outlet connection 15 should also rise inwards, at least on its bottom surface 16, and an additional partition wall 25, so that no water remains in this area, but instead flows off to the outside.

Eingespritztes Wasser wird daher stets wieder nach außen abfließen.2 and 3, a further simple outer wall box is shown, which has a mounting plate 30 with a circular opening 31 to which a cylindrical box chamber 32 is attached. An intermediate wall 33 divides this box chamber and the opening 31, so that an upper exhaust gas compartment 34 with an outlet opening 35 and a lower combustion air compartment 36 with an air inlet opening 37 are formed. The upper exhaust gas compartment is closed off by a rear wall 39, into which a connecting piece 40 for the exhaust gas duct 41 opens. The lower combustion air compartment 36 is open at the rear, so that the peripheral wall 43 of the box chamber also forms the connecting piece 44 for the combustion air duct 45. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the box chamber, the connecting pieces and thus the flow channels rise from the mounting plate 30 to the rear. Injected water will therefore always flow out again.

A cover or protective grille, which is usually placed on the outside of the fastening plate, is not shown for the sake of clarity.

As FIG. 2 shows, the intermediate wall 33 protrudes a few millimeters above the outer plane of the fastening plate in order to form a shielding strip 46 to prevent the exhaust gas from entering the combustion air opening 37.

Below the air inlet opening 37, an outwardly projecting wind deflector 48 is provided on the mounting plate 30, which extends over the entire width of the opening and has a favorable influence on the wind conditions. Above all, it smoothes and calms the flow rising from below, which has strong eddies due to the nearby impellers or unevenness of the wall that is usually on the outside wall of the vehicle.

Die zylindrische Ausbildung des Kastenraumes 32 gemäß Fig. 2 hat den Vorteil, daß der zum Einbau erforderliche Wanddurchbruch eine einfache zylindrische Bohrung sein kann.2 has the advantage that the wall opening required for installation can be a simple cylindrical bore.
