Definitions
- the invention relates to a gas storage tank with a variable usable volume, a fixed side wall and a cuff foil arranged between the side wall and the gas storage ceiling.
- Known designs use, for example, a central, vertical guide pillar attached to the floor or to a solid cover, or cable guides which are guided gas-tight from the gas space to the outside by an oil bath arranged on the ceiling.
- the invention has for its object to provide a simple and yet reliable guidance for such a gas storage ceiling.
- the invention solves this problem with a guide, which is characterized by the special features specified in claim 1.
- Figure 1 shows a vertical section through a gas storage and 2 shows a horizontal section along the line II -II in Figure 1;
- Figure 3 is a vertical section as in Figure 1 in which the guides on a larger scale, more in
- FIG. 5 shows a section along the line V - V in
- Figure 3 on an even larger scale.
- Figures 1 and 2 show a simplified representation of a gas storage device with a circular cylindrical, rigid wall W, floor B, and a cuff film S arranged between the wall and the ceiling D.
- the ceiling consists of a rigid ring R, which forms the periphery of the ceiling and is covered with a gas-tight film F.
- the storage tank is covered by a roof and is provided at the bottom with a filling drain valve.
- three independent vertical guides are shown. These comprise three main components, namely a short guide element 11 fastened to the wall W, a guide rail 12 and a holder 13 connected to the ceiling R, D.
- the guide rail 12 is slidably guided on the guide element 11 and the holder 13 is in turn on the rail 12 slidably guided.
- FIG. 1 the relative position of these elements is shown at the top right when the gas reservoir is full, and at the bottom left when the reservoir is empty.
- the ceiling can also consist of a rigid plate, possibly stiffened by ribs, without this affecting the construction of the vertical guides.
- Figure 3 shows the vertical guide in more detail. So that the guide rail 12 and the holder 13 are easily displaceable, both the guide element 11 and the holder 13 are equipped with pairs of rollers 14 which are guided in paths of the guide rail 12.
- the guide rail has a double box-shaped cross-sectional profile, as can be seen in FIG. 4.
- a small margin is provided between the roller and guideways so that the rollers are only on one
- the guide element 11 and the holder 13 protrude a bit into the rail.
- the roller pairs 14 are fastened to this part which projects into the rail. The arrangement of two pairs of rollers per guide element and the bending stiffness of the guide rail prevent the ceiling from sloping.
- a driver device is created by means of cables 20, 21 running in the guide rail, which controls the relative position of the parts of the vertical guide in each position of the ceiling.
- 12 pulleys 22 are attached to the top and bottom of the guide rail.
- Rope 20 is attached to the underside of the holder 13 and leads via the lower roller 22 to the lower side of the guide element 11, where it is reattached.
- rope 21 connects the upper side of the holder 13 to the upper side of the element 11 , wherein it is guided over the upper roller 22.
- the two ropes form a kind of positive control, which is a safeguard against injury to the cuff foil during operation. If the guide rail 12 remained in the highest position shown on the left in FIG. 3 when the gas storage device was emptied, there would be a risk that it would damage the forend foil.
- 12 wide rollers 23 are mounted on the side, at the top of the guide rail.
- FIG. 5 shows the construction of this connection.
- the holder 13 is provided with pairs of rollers 14 and the ceiling is torsionally connected to short horizontal rail sections 30 which have a box-shaped cross-sectional profile.
- the holder 13 protrudes a little way through a slot in the profile and the weight of the blanket rests on the pairs of rollers 14.
- the guide rail 12 is partially closed at the top and bottom by plates 15, which at the same time form stops on the guide element 11, for the top and bottom position of the vertical guide 10.
- the stroke of the guide rail 12 is exactly half the stroke H of the ceiling R, F.
- the arrangement of the guide construction in the gas space requires a maintenance and corrosion-free construction. This is guaranteed by the use of stainless steel or plastic for all mechanically stressed parts.

Abstract
The gas accumulator consists of a fixed wall (W) and a fixed floor (B), while its ceiling can go up or down depending on the volume of gas. A bell sheet (S) forms a mobile and gas-tight separation between the ceiling and the fixed wall. In order to stabilize and center the ceiling at each height, at least three vertical guides (10) distributed around the circumference are installed between the periphery of the ceiling and that of the wall, below the bell sheet, but at the inside the accumulator. Each of these guides comprises a short guide element (11) fixed to the wall, a guide rail (12), as well as a support (13) connected to the ceiling. These parts (11-13) can move relative to each other and take care of the vertical guidance of the ceiling. On the left of the figure is represented the lowest position of the ceiling, when the accumulator is empty, and on the right, the highest, when the accumulator is full.
