Claims (5)

1. Connection device between a tube end plate (1) and a header box (5) of a heat exchanger comprising, at least, one clamp (7) bearing underneath a peripheral groove (3) of the tube end plate, and on top of a peripheral bearing flange (6) of the header box by means of lugs separated by notches (12, 13), the clamp being preformed for defining upper (9) and lower (10) lugs separated by a measure for which a sealing gasket (4) interposed between the tube end plate and the header box is compressed, the upper lugs (9) having a length making that they extend on the greater part of the peripheral bearing flange (6) of the header box, characterized in that the lower lugs (10) are slightly greater to extend on the greater part of the surface of the bottom (la) of the part of the tube end plate which forms the groove (3) without protruding up to the raising edge (1 b) of this groove and in that said clamp (7) has at least a lower lug (11) of a length greater than the width of the bottom (1a) of the groove of the tube end plate protruding beyond the same.
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the clamp has a back portion (8) of a regular height h which define the bottom of the notches (12, 13) separating the upper (9) and lower (10, 11) lugs, which notches extend into a rounded portion (14, 15) connecting said lugs to the back portion.
3. Method for the connection between a tube end plate (1) and a header box (5) of a heat exchanger in which said connection is provided by a preformed clamp (7) bearing underneath a peripheral groove (3) of the tube end plate and above a peripheral bearing flange of the header box covering the tube end plate and pressing thereagainst a sealing gasket, characterized in that there is exerted a compression effort between the tube end plate (1) and the header box (5) in order to deform the sealing gasket separating them, in that there is positioned the clamp (7) by sliding, so as bear, on one hand, on the bearing flange (6) of the header box and, on an other hand, against the bottom (1a) of the peripheral groove of the tube end plate, in that there is locked the clamp to the tube end plate after its positioning by sliding and in that, for locking the clamp to the tube end plate after its positioning by sliding, there is provided said clamp with at least one lower lug (11) of a length greater than the width of the peripheral groove (3) of the tube end plate (1) and in that there is bent over the end of this lug against the inner edge (1 b) of said tube end plate.
4. Method according to claim 3, characterized in that there is provided openings or notches (12, 13) in the upper (9) and lower (10, 11) portions of the clamp and in that there is applied the compression effort between the tube end plate and the header box by means of the teeth (16, 18) of combs (17, 19) bearing against the tube end plate and the header box while extending through the notches (12, 13).
5. Method according to one of claims 1 and 4, characterized in that there is bent over the end of each long lower lug (11) while the back portion (8) of the clamp positioned by sliding is maintained by a continuous edge of a crimping comb (20).
