Definitions
- the present invention relates to a process for improving the regularity of structure and the properties of filaments, threads, fibers, based on thermoplastic polymers, more particularly polyesters and polyamides.
- the present invention applies to processes for spinning in the molten state and continuous drawing, that is to say to known methods for obtaining wires oriented directly on a spool, possibly at high speed, methods according to which the filaments are first entrained by a take-up roller or delivery rollers before being stretched and then rewound, directly or possibly after another treatment.
- Slight variations in the properties of the threads can have various and unexpected causes such as uncontrolled and accidental changes in the extrusion temperature, the flow rate of the die, the diameter of the orifices (which can be modified by agglomerated polymer) , the blowing speed, the speed of the filaments (sliding of the wires on the rollers), the viscosity, etc.
- French application No. 2 311 868 envisages controlling the spinning speed of polyamide-based yarns, for example by means of a roller driven by a substantially constant torque in order to obtain in particular better uniformity of the titer.
- British patent 988 994 provides for controlling the speed of the drawing roller to a continuous measurement of the modulus of the filaments.
- Russian Patent No. 914,662 proposes to measure the tension force of the threads, in particular at the winding level by measuring the "specific linear electrical resistance" of the threads, then the tension force is kept within certain limits by a regulator .
- thermoplastic polymers obtained by melt spinning and continuous drawing by regulation at a constant level of the drawing stress of the filaments. between the take-up roller and the drawing roller, the speed of the drawing roller being kept constant.
- drawing roller and drawing roller is also meant according to the present application a set of drawing rollers and a set of drawing rollers.
- the stress upstream of the last stretching roller is measured and regulated at a constant level.
- the continuous spinning-drawing process is a process in which the filaments are driven by a take-up roller rotating at a speed V 1 before passing onto another roller driven at a constant speed V: according to the invention, as soon as '' a modification of the stress is detected, which can come from one or more parameters mentioned above, one can, for example, adapt the speed of the take-up roller so that the stress returns to a predetermined and constant level .
- the drawing itself can be carried out cold or hot, at a controlled temperature according to known methods (heating rollers, ovens, etc.), in one or more stages.
- Such a method makes it possible to regulate the structure of the filaments as well as all the properties linked to the state of orientation of the fibers, in particular the birefringence, the modulus at the origin, and the secant modules, and allows, inter alia, '' obtain a very regular dye affinity.
- thermoplastic polymers which are structured as a function of the stretching stress.

Abstract
