Der in der Zeichnung nicht dargestellte Vorschubantrieb des Schlittens 7 ist mit dem ebenfalls nicht gezeigten Übertragungszug der Filmstreifen-Transportvorrichtung 6 derart gekuppelt und/oder synchronisiert, daß der Filmstreifen 3 um die volle Länge des als nächsten zu rahmenden Filmabschnitts 3a über die Messerebene hinaus in den offen gehaltenen Rahmen ausgeschoben wird. In Führungsschlitzen 80 (Fig. 1) der zweiteiligen Hilfsführung 8 ist der ausgeschobene Filmstreifenabschnitt 3a in Fortsetzung der Führung in der Führungsbahn 4 jenseits der Messerebene bis in den Rahmen 1 hineingeführt. Das die Filmstreifen-Transportvorrichtung bildende Zahnrad 6 kann entweder gleichphasig mit dem Schlittenvorschub in der Richtung A durch ein geeignet eingestelltes Getriebe angetrieben werden, so daß die volle Länge des zu rahmenden Filmabschnitts 3a über die Messerebene hinaus in den Rahmen 1 vorgeschoben ist, wenn der Schlitten 7 die vordere, beispielsweise durch einen einstellbaren Anschlag 70 begrenzte Endposition erreicht hat, oder der Antrieb der Transportvorrichtung 6 wird phasenverschoben gegenüber dem Schlittenantrieb betätigt, so daß der Filmstreifenvorschub und damit das Ausschieben des zu rahmenden vorderen Filmabschnitts 3a zeitlich versetzt gegenüber dem Beginn der Schlittenbewegung anfängt. Danach wird die Schneidevorrichtung 5 betätigt und das Messer 50 trennt in der Schnittebene den mit dem vorderen Rand von den Stempeln 11 in der Endlage im Rahmen 1 gehaltenen Filmabschnitt 1 b von dem Restfilmstreifen 3 ab. Die die Führungsbahn 4 jenseits des Messers 50 in Richtung des Rahmens 1 fortsetzende Hilfsführung 8 sorgt mit den beiden schlitzartigen Ausnehmungen 80 für einen sicheren Halt auch des letzten Filmbildes in der Schnittposition. Ohne eine Führung jenseits des Messers 50 würde das letzte Filmbild ohne ausreichenden Halt sein, und die Endstellung des Filmabschnitts 3a im Rahmen 1 (entsprechend der Darstellung in Fig. 3) könnte nicht zuverlässig erreicht werden. Die Betätigungsvorrichtung für die Stempel 11 - im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel über die Zugstange 12 - ist vorzugsweise mit dem Schlittenantrieb und/oder der Filmstreifen-Transportvorrichtung 6 derart synchronisiert bzw. bewegungsgekoppelt, daß die Stempel 11 automatisch bei Erreichen der Soll-Endlage (Fig. 3), d. h. der stärksten Annäherung zwischen dem Schlitten 7 und der Rahmen-Haltevorrichtung 2, gegen die Rahmenoberseite gedrückt werden, um den dann in der Endlage befindlichen zu rahmenden Filmabschnitt 3a in dieser Endlage zu fixieren. Die Aufhebung des Andrucks der Stempel 11 erfolgt erst nach vollständigem Entfernen der mit dem Schlitten 7 mechanisch verbundenen Teile aus dem Öffnungsspalt zwischen den Rahmenober- und -unterteilen. Die im beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispiel als abgewinkeltes Blech ausgebildete Halte- . und Führungsleiste 23 für den Rahmenoberteil 1a kann natürlich eine andere Gestaltung haben, wobei darauf zu achten ist, daß Messer und Hilfsführung in den Rahmen-Öffnungsbereich ungehindert eingeschoben werden können. Claims (11)

1. A method of mounting transparencies wherein a mount consisting of two frame halves or frame parts is kept open, the leading end of a developed film is inserted by relative motion in a feeding direction so far into said open mount until the leading film portion to be mounted has reached a cutting position above the lower frame half, thereafter said leading film portion is cut in said open mount by activating a cutting device and finally said mount is closed over the film portion being in its predetermined final position, characterized in that the leading end of the film portion to be mounted is advanced to its predetermined final position in the open mount, as it is being inserted, and is fixed in this final position before cutting, further in that the cutting device is inserted in the longitudinal direction of said film into said open mount by relative motion of the cutting device and the mount, in that thereafter the cutting of said film portion takes place by activating said cutting device, while the leading end of the film portion to be mounted is continually kept fixed, and in that the cutting device is deactivated and finally removed out of the range of the open mount.
2. A method according to claim 1 characterized in that during the insertion and cutting in the open mount the film portion to be mounted is held guided beyond the cutting line at a minimum distance from the lower mount part.
3. 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, characterized in that said mount holding device (2) is stationary and said guide path (4), said coveying means (6) and said cutting device (5) are arranged on a mobile skid means (7).

An apparatus according to claim 5 or 6 characterized in that an auxiliary guide means (8) aligned with and connected to said guide path (4) is arranged at the side of said cutting device (5) facing said mount-holding device (2) for guiding said film portion to be mounted (3a) in the range of said mount.
8. An apparatus according to claim 7 characterized in that said auxiliary guide means comprises a one or plural piece nose-shaped extension (8) for receiving immediately behind said cutting line the leading end of said film (3) in the film feeding plane provided by said guide path (4), said extension including at least one slot-type groove (80) for guiding said film portion behind said cutting line.
9. An apparatus according to one of claims 5 through 8 characterized in that the film conveying means is coupled by means of a transmission mechanism incorporating gear means with said relative movement between a support carrying said guide path as well as said cutting device and said mount holding device so that the film is advanced during the insertion by the length of one film portion incorporating one film picture beyond the cutting line of said cutting device into said mount.
10. An apparatus according to claim 9 characterized in that said transmission mechanism of said conveying means incorporates a free running mechanism, which engages said conveying means with a drive as said forward movement of the film is being made and which disengages said conveying means from said drive as the return movement is being made so that the leading edge of the film guided by said guide means remains aligned with said cutting line as said cutting device is being retracted from said open mount.
11. An apparatus according to one of the claims 7 through 10 characterized in that an auxiliary feeding device is provided with a pusher which can be inserted into the film feeding plane of the guide path and which can be shifted in the longitudinal direction of the film to insert the film portion carrying the last picture of a film into the open mount.
