Abstract

Un deuxième type de modules (42) possède un boîtier (44) plus petit que le boîtier du premier type de modules et comprend uniquement les circuits internes et l'émetteur/récepteur optique exposé (48, 50); il ne comporte pas d'affichage ni de clavier. Les boîtiers du premier et du deuxième types de modules sont pourvus d'organes d'alignement (36, 38, 40, 52, 54) servant à (a) orienter des paires de modules du premier type avec les émetteurs/récepteurs optiques correspondants alignés entre eux pour le transfert de données ou (b) orienter des modules du premier et du deuxième types l'un par rapport à l'autre pour le transfert de données. Dans le deuxième cas, les données stockées dans le module du deuxième type (42) sont affichés dans l'affichage du module du premier type (20). Un support d'alignement facultatif (56) peut être utilisé pour positionner correctement les modules pour le transfert de données. Un deuxième type de support de montage (90) permet d'assurer la liaison avec un équipement extérieur, tel qu'une machine de guichet automatique (ATM), pour permettre le transfert de fonds directement avec un institut membre.
