2. A transmission member according to claim 1 characterised in that the insulating layer (12) is substantially uniform in thickness.
3. A transmission member according to claim 2 characterised in that the thickness (E) of the insulating layer (25) is for example between 0.5 mm and 10 mm.
4. A transmission member according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the end of one at least of the arms (13) of the floating core (11) is in projecting relationship to the corresponding opening to the outside of the housing (18) of the casing (12).
5. A transmission member according to any one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that the end of one at least of the arms (13) of the floating core (11) is in recessed relationship to the corresponding opening to the outside of the housing (18) of the casing (12).
6. A compacting apparatus of the kind comprising, for acting on the internal volume of at least one container (31) for containing the substance (30) to be compacted, a pressing element (32) which is mounted movably with respect to a fixed support element (33), characterised in that it further comprises at least one transmission member (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein the casing (12) thereof is fixed to either one of the pressing element (32) or the support element (33) and the floating core (11.) carries transversely by means of an arm (13) at least one vibration generator (40) forming a driving member while one of the other arms (13) of said floating core (11), forming the driven member, is operable to act in the internal volume of the container (31) in question, such that on the one hand a compacting action and on the other hand, and in parallel relationship therewith, mechanical vibrations, can be applied simultaneously to the substance (30) in said container.

A compacting apparatus according to claim 6 characterised in that, for the purposes of acting in the internal volume of the container (31), the arm (13) of the floating core (11) carries a prolongation means (45) whose length is adjusted to the wavelength of the mechanical vibrations used, said length being for example substantially equal to half a wavelength or a multiple thereof.
8. Apparatus according to either one of claims 6 and 7 characterised in that, two vibration generators (40) being used, one thereof forms a pick-up and the power employed by the pressing element (32) is controlled by the pick-up.
9. A wire-drawing apparatus of the kind using a die (60), through the opening (61) of which the product (62) to be wire-drawn can be engaged and pulled, characterised in that it further comprises a transmission member (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 5, the floating core (11) of said transmission member (10) carrying transversely by way of an arm (13) a vibration generator (40) forming a driving member and by way of another arm (13) the die (60) forming the driven member, and being provided in line with the opening (61) of the die with an opening (71) for the product (62) to be wire-drawn to pass therethrough, so that on the one hand a wire-drawing action and on the other hand and in parallel relationship therewith mechanical vibrations can be applied simultaneously to said product.
