Definitions

  • the invention relates to a metering or atomizing device with a housing and an actuating button that can be actuated by a finger of the user and has a locking bar that interacts with the housing, can be disengaged from the housing by manual actuation of a latch actuating surface and automatically returns to its safety position after actuation.
  • Such a device has become known from FR-A-2 140 969. It concerns an aerosol valve that has a child lock.
  • two levers are provided in the actuating lever, which pivot away in different directions and also connect the nozzle channel and the outlet nozzle to the valve on the one hand and swivel diagonally upwards and release on the other hand.
  • a locking lug on a lever prevents the aerosol valve from being actuated when the actuation surface is pressed from above. The actuation is only released if the actuating surface is also moved laterally when pivoting. Basically, this only creates a complication of the actuation process, which is intended, for example, to preclude actuation by children.
  • Metering or atomizing pumps are used to dispense liquid, pasty or gel-like media, and when they are dispensed they emerge in the form of an atomized or continuous jet or a simple stream from an dispensing or atomizing opening.
  • This atomizer opening is usually part of the actuation button and is supplied by a hollow piston rod of the pump. Since the actuating button usually forms the upper end of the pump placed on the container, it is easily possible that it is actuated unintentionally during transport to the user or by the user, for example in a cosmetic bag, or even by falling over and thus the liquid escapes. Since the upper rest position is usually the one in which the pump tightly seals the container, actuation could also lead to a further leakage of the content, regardless of repeated actuation.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an uncomplicatedly designed and operated metering or atomizing device in which the risk that the medium in a container escapes due to unwanted actuation during transport etc. is low
  • the latch actuating surface can preferably comprise a projection projecting beyond the edge of the essentially cylindrical actuating push button. This ensures that sufficient force to unlock is applied when actuated with the finger. If this is desired, this projection could also be surrounded by parts of the remaining actuating surface, so that the chance of inadvertent use is further reduced.
  • the latch actuation surface can be connected to the rest of the actuation lever by a self-resilient, elastic section. This makes it possible to manufacture the actuating pushbutton from a single injection-molded part, the elastic connecting section of which forms a hinge which always returns the bolt to the starting position.
  • the locking bolt can thus advantageously be formed by a part of the inverted pot-shaped actuation button, which is divided by incisions from the rest of the actuation button.
  • the incisions can run obliquely towards the center of the actuating surface, so that the bolt actuating surface forms a segment of the actuating press surface.
  • the incisions can continue in the area of the jacket of the actuating button.
  • the actuating latch can be designed in any way, for example as a tongue cut out in the jacket of the actuating button.
  • the securing bolt can interact with an upward-facing end edge of the pump housing. It forms an L-shaped lever.
  • actuating bolt it is also possible for the actuating bolt to consist of a projection and a recess and to secure the pump against actuation and removal of the actuation trigger. Embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawing and are explained in more detail below.
  • a metering or atomizing pump is shown, which is attached to a container 13, for example by screwing on. It has a pump housing 15, in which a pump cylinder (not shown) is attached, which is designed as a single-acting piston pump and via a piston rod 23 is operated. On the hollow piston rod 23, an actuation push-button 17 is attached, which has an inverted cup-shaped basic shape, the bottom forming the actuation surface 25 and an essentially circular-cylindrical jacket 27 reaching up to an upstanding edge 16 of the pump housing.
  • the hollow piston rod 23 is connected to an output tube 19, which projects radially from the actuation button and has an output opening 21.
  • a recessed section 29 which has the shape of a flat trough-shaped recess which occupies approximately the central region of the actuating surface and extends to the edge of the actuating surface which lies opposite the dispensing tube 19.
  • a projection 35 protruding beyond the edge of the essentially cylindrical actuating push button is provided.
  • the recessed section 29 is therefore surrounded by a horseshoe or C-shaped elevation 30.
  • a safety latch 31 is provided in the actuation button, which is made in one piece with the actuation button 17 made of plastic.
  • the locking bolt is separated from the shape of the actuating button just described by two incisions 37 which are slots running in the axial direction of the casing 27, which extend to the lower edge 43 of the casing 27 and also extend into the area of the actuating surface. They run essentially radially obliquely towards one another on the actuating surface and end shortly before the central region, so that the section separated from them remains connected to the rest of the actuating button by a connecting section 39.
  • the securing bolt thus consists of a part of the casing, the projection 35 and a part which is separated by the incisions 37 in the actuating surface and which forms the bolt actuating surface 33 and lies in the recessed part 29.
  • the actuating pushbutton is somewhat asymmetrical with respect to the pump housing 15 and the piston rod 23 forming the central axis of the pump housing, so that the lower edge 43 lies in the area of the safety latch over the end face 41 of the pump housing, while the jacket 27 of the actuating pushbutton 17 otherwise fits into the edge 16 of the pump housing.
  • the actuation pushbutton is prevented from moving vertically downward (actuation) in the idle state, because the lower edge 43 of the locking bolt 31 rests on the end face 41 and prevents the actuation.
  • the actuated state can be seen from FIG.
  • the user has pressed the actuation button down with his finger, and he automatically applies the finger to the actuation button from the side opposite the dispensing tube 19.
  • the bolt actuating surface is subjected to pressure from above, and due to the resulting lifting action, which is further reinforced by the projection 35, the securing bolt is pivoted a little counterclockwise, namely around the connecting section 39, which yields elastically and self-resiliently, because the push button is made of elastic plastic.
  • This pivoting takes place by such an amount until the incisions 37 in the lower region of the jacket are closed. In this position, the lower edge 43 is pivoted so far inward that it comes free from the end face 41 of the pump housing and the pump can be actuated (FIG. 3).
  • FIG. 4 corresponds in all parts and functions to that according to FIGS. 1 and 3, except for the differences explained in detail below.
  • the same reference numbers are used for the same part and similar or corresponding parts are provided with the index "a".
  • the actuating button 17a contains an inserted atomizing nozzle instead of the dispensing tube 27.
  • the safety catch 31 is designed in its upper section, in the area of the actuating surface 25, to be the same as that according to FIGS. 1 to 3, but is formed in the jacket area in the form of a cut-out tongue 49, which has an outwardly projecting projection 45 at its lower end which is provided in an annular recess 47 on the inside of the edge 16a of the pump housing 15a.
  • the lower edge 43a of the casing 27a also projects into the edge 16a of the pump housing 15a, so that it is constantly guided therein, even in the rest or securing state shown in FIG. 4.
  • the projection 45 swings out of the recess 47, and the actuation is possible.
  • the actuation button can neither be actuated nor removed, so that it is a complete safeguard against leakage of the filling material.
  • the countersinking of the actuating surface 33 ensures that an object pressing on the actuating pushbutton from above is present is supported on the elevation 30 and thus does not release the locking bolt.
  • an outward-pointing projection can also be provided in the region of the edge 43 in FIG. 4. to move the safety catch inside the actuation button, i.e. not to use a jacket section of the actuation button for the safety catch.
  • the embodiment according to FIG. 4 has, instead of the outlet pipe, an atomizing nozzle 19a which is inserted into the actuation pusher and which is likewise arranged opposite the safety catch in order to thereby achieve the desired position of the actuating finger of the user.
  • the arrangement of the latch actuating surface 33 with respect to the dispensing opening still has the advantage that accidental use of the pump with an incorrectly directed dispensing opening is prevented, because then the finger z. B. is on the survey 30 or the rest of the actuating surface 25, but not actuated the locking bolt. With another desired orientation of the dispensing opening towards the user, this arrangement can be chosen accordingly.
