Abstract

This invention relates to a ridge tile which defines a ventilating gap between the outside surface of that end portion of the tile which is overlapped in the roof and the inside surface of the overlapping end portion of the adjacent ridge tile in that its end portion which is overlapped in the roof has a flat surface and the lower portions of the outside surface of its overlapped end portion define a clearance with the inside surface of the overlapping end portion of the adjacent ridge tile. It is an object of the invention to provide a ventilating ridge tile which is of the kind defined first hereinbefore and together with an adjacent ventilating ridge tile of the same kind defines a larger effective ventilating cross-sectional area whereas the external size and shape of the ventilating ridge tile are substantially preserved and the universal usability of the ventilating ridge time in a mortar bed or with unbonded joints on roof pane tiles or ridge-adjoining tiles is obstructed or reduced. This is accomplished in that the overlapped end portion of the ridge tile is provided with additional, outwardly sloping, flat surfaces between the surface at the apex of the tile and those portions which define a clearance with the adjacent ridge tile.

Description

The invention relates to a ridge tile according to the preamble of claim 1.

The ventilation cross sections achievable with the ridge tiles of this type known from DE-PS 19 49 355 and 19 55 924 are limited per running meter. Furthermore, the ventilation cross-sections specified in DIN 4108 "Thermal protection in building construction", Part 3, "Climate-related moisture protection", of 0.5 o / oo of the associated roof area with ventilation ridge tiles of the usual size can only be achieved for rafter lengths of up to approx. 6 m. In the case of a saddle roof with a rafter length of 2 x 6 m, a ventilation cross-section on the ridge of approx. 60 cm 'per running meter of ridge is required, which can be achieved with the known ridge tiles mentioned above. In the case of larger rafter lengths, the additional covering of conventional dormer fans or ridge connection fans near the ridge has so far been required, which have five to ten times the price of a normal middle field roof tile and thereby greatly increase the cost of a roof with long rafters.

A widening of the ventilation ridge tiles known from the above-mentioned patents, which goes well beyond the usual ridge tile width, is not desirable for optical reasons and is disadvantageous for reasons of production and application technology, so that an increase in the ventilation cross section per pair of ridge tiles or per running meter is very limited limited possible and would be associated with considerable disadvantages.

An under the usual ridge tile deck length of 33 cm continuous shortening of the known from the above patents L üftungs ridge tile is desirable as little, as it would cause an increase of the required number of ridge tiles and thereby a substantial increase in cost. After all, the cost share of comparable ridge tiles is already 10% of the total roof tile costs.

The invention is based on the object, the effective ventilation area to enlarge a ridge tile pair of the above-defined genus while largely retaining its external size and shape without the universal hidability in mortar bed or dry on surface of tiles or F hindered irstanschlußziegeln or is deteriorated.

The object is achieved according to the characterizing part of patent claim 1. The ridge tile according to the invention has the advantage that without restricting the lower clearance profile of the covered end of the ridge tile at the point where the head of a steeply covered roof tile touches the ridge tile, the sloping sides Create flats of an additional ventilation cross section.

An improved embodiment of the invention is the subject of claim 2. The groove ensures safe drainage of rain and melt water over the bilateral edge sections up to the roof surface. By partially or completely dispensing with the rib, the effective ventilation cross-section is further increased.

Another embodiment of the ridge tile according to the invention is the subject of claim 3. The stiffening rib mentioned there has the advantage that it stiffens the end of the ridge tile in such a way that not only the fragments are thinner can be made, which further increases the ventilation cross-section, but may even be able to do without the rib that narrows the ventilation cross-section and encircles the outside or its stiffening effect.

A further embodiment of a ridge tile according to claim 3 is the subject of claim 4. This preferred embodiment has the advantage that the bending stiffness and breaking strength in the particularly stressed and endangered central area is greatly increased without the height of the lower clearance profile in the areas lying further out significantly is restricted. The breaking strength of the ridge tile is not only important when it is concealed; Rather, its stiffness also plays an important role in the soft state after pressing in terms of manufacturing tolerances and breakage rate.

Claim 5 relates to a ridge tile according to the patent, the covered end of which is formed in cross section in the area of the end face of the covering end of the adjacent ridge tile and forms a support for the covering end of the adjacent ridge tile with its apex. Ridge tiles with the generic features of this claim are already known from the above-mentioned DE-PS 19 55 924. The improvement of this known ridge tile according to the characterizing part of claim 5 has the advantage that at the transition from the simple, horizontal ventilation cross-section to the bilateral, divided ventilation cross-sections to the left and right of the gable roof-like part, no obstructive cross-sectional constriction can occur.

Another particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention is the subject of claim 6. This gives the advantage that a mutual longitudinal locking of the Ridge tile is guaranteed without the need for additional ribs on the outer surface of the covered end.

The ridge tile according to claim 7 has the advantage that, while maintaining the cross section of its covered part, the effective ventilation cross section of the ridge tile pair is significantly increased without a significant change in the outer shape.

The prescribed improvements according to the invention already result in more than doubling the ventilation cross-section without incurring additional costs. With a saddle roof, this corresponds to a permissible rafter length of approx. 13 m on both sides.

A further significant increase in the ventilation cross section per running meter ridge is also possible by claim 8, again without changing its cross section. This shortening of the ridge tile can then result in a further increase in the ventilation cross-sections - per running meter of ridge - if necessary, but at the cost of additional costs.

The ridge tile according to the invention is explained in more detail in the following description using the drawing as an example.

In der Zeichnung zeigen:

  • Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch die einander überdeckenden Enden zweier erfindungsgemäßer Firstziegel, und zwar in der linken bzw. rechten Hälfte in verschiedenen Ausführungsformen;
  • Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt durch einen Firstziegel in der Mittelachse von Fig. 1;
  • Fig. 3 b einen Längsschnitt durch drei sich überdeckende Firstziegel;
The drawing shows:
  • Figure 1 shows a cross section through the mutually overlapping ends of two ridge tiles according to the invention, in the left or right half in different embodiments.
  • FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through a ridge tile in the central axis of FIG. 1;
  • Fig. 3 a half a cross section of two overlapping ends and
  • 3 b shows a longitudinal section through three overlapping ridge tiles;
  • Fig. 4 shows a cross section of two overlapping ridge tile ends, in which the original ventilation cross section of the ridge tile, which is assumed to be known, is shown in the right half, and the enlarged ventilation cross section of the ridge tile according to the invention is shown in the left half.

The area of mutual overlap of two ridge tiles 1, 2 can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2. The ridge tile 1 forms a ventilation gap 5 between the outside of its end 3 covered in the covering and the inside of the covering end 4 of the adjacent ridge tile 2, specifically in that its end 3 covered in the covering has a flattening 6 in the apex region. The sections 7 facing the roof surface on the outside of its covered end 3, however, rest with play on the inside of the covering end 4 of the adjacent ridge tile 2. The covered end 3 of the ridge tile 1 has between its flattening 6 in the apex area and its sections 7 which rest with play on the adjacent ridge tile 2, further flats 8,9 falling outwards. In this way, an additional ventilation cross-section 14 is created without restriction of the lower clearance profile 10 of the covered end of the ridge tile 2 at the point 11 at which the head 12 of a steeply covered roof tile 13 touches the ridge tile, through the flats 8, 9 that drop off to the outside .

The end 3 of the ridge tile 1 covered in the covering has a rib 16 in addition to its end face 15. However, this can be omitted partially or completely if it is replaced by a circumferential groove 17 in which rain or melt water is drained off via the edges 27 on both sides up to the roof surface. By eliminating the rib 16, the ventilation cross section 14 is further enlarged. Appropriately, an inwardly projecting rib 18 is attached to stiffen the covered end 3, which is formed higher in the central region 19. This ensures that the clearance profile 10 is not restricted too much at the point 11 at which the heads 12 of steeply covered roof tiles 13 preferably touch the ridge tile 1. The gable roof-like part 20 can also be arranged much steeper than in the prior art and in the extreme case is designed as a central support rib 21. The mutual longitudinal locking of the ridge tiles 1, 2 is served by the ribs 24, which are attached in the region of the sections 22, 23 of the covering end 4 facing the roof surfaces and engage in the groove 17 of the covered end 3.

In Fig. 3 a the h a 1be total width 25 of a ridge tile is shown in cross section and in Fig. 3 b the top length 2.6 is shown in longitudinal section.

In FIG. 4 in the right Häl.fte the original L is üftungsquerschnitt 28 of a ridge tile shown initially assumed to be known of the prior art; the cross-section can be comparatively set at 100%. In the left half, the original cross section 28 and the ventilation cross sections 29, 30 and 31 additionally obtained by the improvements according to the invention are shown. The cross section 29 results from the beveling of the side area and corresponds to an enlargement of approx. 39%, the cross section 30 results from the groove 17 and corresponds to an enlargement of approx. 23%, the cross section 31 results from the enlargement of the height of the overlapping end and corresponds here to an approx. 39% enlargement.

The overall cross-sectional enlargement is over 100%. The overall width, the required clearance profile 10 and the overall external appearance of the ventilation ridge tile are retained unchanged.
