Abstract

An apparatus for applying color to hair includes a color-applying comb having several teeth which are substantially triangularly shaped in a top view, are arranged on a comb back, are spaced by relatively large distances, and are tapered toward their tips. The gaps which lie between the teeth are substantially triangularly shaped in a top view and taper toward the comb back. Each tooth has in its enlarged part and in the vicinity of the comb back a color chamber, and has a narrow slot which extends perpendicular to the comb back from the tooth tip into the color chamber.

Description

The invention relates to a paint application comb with a plurality of teeth arranged on a comb back and gaps between them.

Such a paint application comb is used for coloring individual fine strands of hair. The previously known paint application comb is designed like a normal comb with coarse teeth. To color the strands of hair, the inner ends of the gaps between the teeth are filled with colored material and then the comb is pulled through the hair. The color mass is applied to the strands of hair sliding between the teeth. However, since the tooth gaps are relatively close together and they also capture a relatively large number of strands of hair, there is a more extensive application of coloring material and, consequently, too many hairs are later colored and not in the form of individual strands. In addition, the narrow gaps between the teeth can absorb only a relatively small amount of color, so that with longer hair the color is not sufficient to color strands of hair along their entire length. The gaps also have to be filled with paint every time the comb is pulled through. Since it is not possible to properly color individual strands of hair with the previous paint application comb, the known comb has a slit at the end of its stem, which, like the gap, is formed between the teeth of the comb. Therefore, only a relatively small amount of ink can be introduced into the gap, which leads to the disadvantages mentioned above. With the slit provided at the end of the stem, it is better possible to dye individual strands, but the dyeing is very lengthy, since only one strand is colored at a time. In addition, there is a risk that when applying the dye to a strand, the dye will be smeared on the previously treated strands.

The invention is therefore based on the object of providing a paint application comb of the type mentioned at the outset, which enables quick and precise coloring of individual, precisely delimited strands of hair.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the spaced-apart, substantially triangular teeth in plan view taper arrow-shaped towards their tips and the substantially triangular-shaped gaps in plan view accordingly taper towards the ridge and that each tooth in its widened part in near the back of the comb has a color chamber which is open to a side surface of the comb and that in each tooth there is a narrow slot extending from the tooth tip to the color chamber to the back of the comb.

In the new paint application comb, the teeth widen in a triangular shape towards the tooth back so that they can accommodate relatively large ink chambers in the vicinity of the tooth back. A relatively large amount of ink can then be poured into these ink chambers, so that it has to be refilled less frequently. In particular, it is always ensured that the color composition contained in the color chambers is sufficient for the complete coloring of entire strands of hair. Furthermore, the triangular teeth arranged at a greater distance ensure that triangular gaps are formed between the teeth. which are relatively wide in the area of the teeth. A relatively large amount of hair is covered by these gaps, but is not colored. Only individual strands of hair are grasped by the slits provided in each tooth and then move into the area of the ink chambers when the comb moves further, from which the ink mass is then applied to the strands. Color mass is therefore always applied to individual strands which are clearly delimited from the other hairs, while no color mass is applied to the majority of the hair covered by the comb. Furthermore, since the comb has several teeth with color chambers and slots, several strands of color mass are simultaneously provided when the comb is pulled through the hair. With the new paint application comb, it is possible to quickly dye thin and clearly defined strands of hair. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

The paint application comb 1 has a comb back 2 and an adjoining comb style 3. On one side of the back of the comb 2, four or five teeth 4 are arranged at larger distances a from one another, in a top view, as shown in FIG. 1, essentially triangular.

Der Abstand a von Zahnmitte zu Zahnmitte beträgt dabei etwa 14-16 mm, vorzugsweise 15 mm.Each of these four teeth 4 tapers in the shape of an arrow towards its tip 4a, 4b, or widens towards the back of the tooth 2. Triangular gaps 5 are provided between the teeth in plan view (FIG. 1), which taper towards the comb back 2. The distance a from the center of the tooth to the center of the tooth is approximately 14-16 mm, preferably 15 mm.

Each tooth 4 has in its widened part near the back of the comb 2 a color chamber 6. In each of the teeth 4 there is also a slot 7 extending from the tooth tip 4a, 4b into the ink chamber 6 perpendicular to the comb back 2.

The slots 7 expediently have constant widths b of approximately 2 mm in plan view. The width B of the gaps 5 in the region of the tooth tips 4a, 4b should be approximately 6 times as large as the width b of the slots 7.

In order to make the capacity of the ink chambers 6 as large as possible, they should, as shown in the drawing, extend from the vicinity of the comb back 2 to the vicinity of the tooth tips 4a, 4b.

It is also expedient if the ink chambers 6, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4, taper in cross section from one upper side surface of the comb 1 to the other lower side surface 1b thereof. The ink chambers 6 extend into the vicinity of the lower side surface 1b and run out into the slots 7 there. The slots 7 have parallel side surfaces 7a, 7b.

Furthermore, it is expedient if the slots 7 and also the gaps 5 extend approximately equally far to the comb back 2.

From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the cross section of the teeth 4 increases towards the tooth back 2.

The slots 7 in the teeth 4 serve to guide the strands of hair to be colored. So that these are better grasped by the slots 7, it is expedient if each tooth 4 on one side of the slot 7 is somewhat longer than on the other side, so that the tooth tip 4a protrudes somewhat over the tooth tip 4b.

Before using the color application comb 1 for coloring strands of hair, the color chambers 6 with color mass z. B. bleaching mass, are filled. It is important that the ink mass actually only gets into the ink chambers 6 and not onto the upper side surface 1a of the comb or into the gaps 5, since otherwise parts of the hair that are not to be colored would come into contact with the color material and would be colored. To fill the ink chambers 6 with ink, it is therefore expedient to provide a template 8 which can be placed on the upper side surface 1a of the comb 1 and which has cutouts 9 which essentially correspond to the outline of the ink chambers 6.

In order to achieve a good seal between the template and the upper side surface 1b of the comb, each ink chamber is expediently surrounded by an edge 10 projecting over the upper side surface 1aa and the cutouts 9 of the template 8 are adapted to the outlines of these edges 10.

In order to also prevent ink mass from penetrating between the boundary surfaces of the recesses 9 and the outer side surfaces of the edges 10, it is expedient if the boundary surfaces 9a, 9b of the recesses 9, as shown in FIG. 6 on an enlarged scale, are of a step-like manner are formed so that the template 8 with a part 9a of the stepped boundary surface comprises the side surface 10a of the projecting edge 10 and with the other part 9b of its boundary surface covers the top 10b of the projecting edge 10.

So that the template 8 nestles as well as possible on the upper side surface 1a of the comb 1, it is expedient if the template 8 is adapted to the upper side surface 1a of the comb 1. Furthermore, the template 8 with a part 8a should also extend in the area of the comb style 3. This part 8a is adapted to the comb stem 3. Taking the template 8 on the upper side surface 1a and the comb stem 3, it remains thanks to p as- solution by itself lie there, especially since they by engaging in the recesses 9 of edges 10 relative to the comb 1 or its Ink chambers 6 is centered. The part 8a of the template 8 covering the area of the style 3 has the advantage that when the handle 3 is grasped, the comb 1 and the template 8 can be held simultaneously with one hand, so that the other hand is free to apply the ink.

Furthermore, a slot 11, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the handle 3 and has an ink chamber 12 arranged at the inner end of the slot, is expediently provided at the end of the comb handle 3. The configuration of the stem end 3a, 3b and the slot 11 and the ink chamber 12 corresponds to the configuration of the slots 7 and the ink chambers 6 of the teeth 4. For more details, reference is therefore made to the above description.

Finally, the comb 1 can have further teeth 13 on its comb back 2, which extend in the opposite direction to the teeth 4 provided with ink chambers 6 and which, like the teeth of a conventional, normal comb, i. H. with substantially parallel gaps 14 are formed.

The new ink application comb 1 works as follows:
  • The comb part with the teeth 13 can be used to organize and comb out the hair like a normal comb. Before coloring individual strands of hair, the ink chambers 6 must be filled with ink. For this purpose, the template 8 is placed on the upper side surface 1a, with its recesses 9 tightly enclosing the edges 10 of the ink chambers. You can hold the handle 3 with one hand and the template 8 via the part 8a. With the other hand, color mas se applied to the template 8 and penetrates into the ink chambers 6 and z. T. also in the slots 7. However, since the slots 7 are relatively narrow, they prevent the ink 7 from exiting at the bottom 1b of the comb. After the ink chambers 6 have been filled, the stencil is removed and the comb is pulled through the ordered hair. The teeth 4 of the comb divide the hair into strands of different widths. The larger number of hair occurs in the form of broad strands in the gaps 5. On the other hand, narrow strands of hair are drawn into the slots 7 through the tooth tips 4a, 4b. These narrow strands of hair take up 6 masses of color from the color chambers. Since the color chambers 6 taper towards the underside 1 b of the teeth 4, the color mass is massaged into the thinner strands of hair and excess color mass is stripped off again. The broader strands of hair drawn into the gaps 5 do not come into contact with the color composition and consequently remain undyed. When the paint application comb 1 is pulled through the hair, depending on the number of teeth, 4 or even more narrow and precisely delimited strands of hair can be provided with coloring material in one operation.

If you only want to dye individual strands of hair, use the end of the comb stem 3. Color mass is introduced into the ink chamber 12 and the end of the stem is then pulled through the hair. Here, too, only a narrow strand enters the slot 11 and ink is applied to this strand in the manner described above.
