Un second inconvénient découle de la difficulté qu'on éprouve pour déplacer les mèches à traiter ;

de traitement et ils auront avantageusement une largeur sensiblement constante sur toute leur longueur ; 13 désigne les extrémités internes des intervalles 12 ; ces extrémités sont arrondies et sont décalées l'une par rapport à l'autre ; ;

A method and apparatus for treating hair.
The invention relates to a method of
hair treatment to obtain locks
of hair of different colors, as well as a device
for the application of this process.
It is known to use for this purpose a
plastic or rubber cap pierced with holes,
but this process has several drawbacks. The first of these drawbacks lies in the difficulty of obtaining the desired result, because the one obtained does not answer
not always to the customer's requirements.
A second drawback arises from the difficulty experienced in moving the wicks to be treated;
a third drawback results from the complication of the process; finally another, of a physical nature, is caused by the withdrawal of the locks from the cap. The caps
are also generally only available in one
or two dimensions only.
The present invention provides a method
of hair treatment which allows to obtain strands
different colors, a range of colors or a
range of shades, this process being characterized in that
the desired treatment material is introduced into a comb
and in that, with a lock of hair of the desired size being grasped, the device, i.e. the comb,
starting from the base and going towards the end of the hair
and towards the center of the lock, passes through the latter and transmits the treatment material to the hair in such a way that the hair is coated therewith.
According to the method forming the subject of the invention, one begins by filling the interstices of a suitable comb with the material necessary to give the hair the desired coloring effect; depending on the process,
the material will advantageously have a thick consistency.
We then take a lock of hair
importance and it is placed in the previously chosen location. If the entire wick must be treated from the roots to the ends, we move the comb along the ':
hair by making it penetrate the lock so that the latter is coated with treatment material.
If it is desired to prevent the coated strand of treatment material from acting on the hair with which it might come into contact after being released, it can be placed or wound on a paper or other backing. produced, but this is not necessary given the desired effects and the density of the processing material.
Depending on the process, the coloring of the ends of the hair only, of their base only or of an intermediate part, etc., can be made lighter, as desired, always taking into account the actual location of the coloring to be obtained. compared to the whole
of the hair.
An advantageous embodiment comb for the application of the method must be such that it can contain an amount of treatment material sufficient to coat a wick from the base to the end. The gap between the teeth actually acts as a container for the treatment material.
The method of obtaining strands of different colors, a range of colorations, a range of shades, etc., in the hair is therefore characterized in that the desired treatment material is introduced into a comb, in that a lock of hair of the desired size is then grasped and the comb starting at the base of the lock and going towards
the ends and towards the center of the wick, passes through it and itself transmits the treatment material to it, which thus coats this wick.
It follows that the comb suitable for the application of the method described above is characterized
in that it functions as a container for containing the treatment material and has at least two
teeth of an average width of not less than six millimeters, and advantageously of nine or ten millimeters and of a length of between twenty-five and sixty millimeters, but, advantageously, of an average length of between forty-five and fifty millimeters.
The appended drawings represent, by way of example, devices suitable for the application of the method forming the subject of the invention.
In these drawings:
FIG. 1 schematically illustrates the application of the method; FIG. 2 represents a comb; Figure 3 is a sectional view along <EMI ID = 1.1>
this figure; FIG. 4 illustrates an alternative embodiment of the comb;
Figures 5 and 6 illustrate two other embodiments of combs according to the invention, and Figure 7 shows a device delivering the treatment material.
In the drawings, identical elements or elements performing the same functions are identified by the same reference numbers.
In the drawings, 10 denotes the comb
in general ; 11 designates the teeth of the comb, which may be smooth or have segments or protrusions
15 (as shown in Figure 5), which gradually maintain the parts of the hair forming the lock, the width of the teeth may vary from six to thirteen millimeters, but it will advantageously, on average, about nine or ten millimeters; 12 denotes the intervals between the teeth 11; they will have a length or depth of between twenty-five and sixty millimeters, but an average length of about forty-five to fifty millimeters is advantageous; at least one interval and at most ten intervals are provided; these intervals represent the receptacles intended to contain the material
treatment and they will advantageously have a substantially constant width over their entire length; 13 denotes the inner ends of the gaps 12; these ends are rounded and are offset from one another; ;
14 denotes the outer ends of the teeth; these ends are aligned according to the indicated progression curve

of two progressive and substantially simultaneous movements
25 and 26.
The operating mode of the comb will be explained below.Wick 21 is chosen and one passes
the treatment material in the intervals 12 so as to fill them; the lock is then grasped with one hand and the comb 10 with the other.
Starting from the roots of the hair, if the entire lock is to be treated, the teeth of the comb 10 are gradually made to penetrate into the lock 21 and, at the same time, the comb 10 is moved towards the ends of the hair.
When the comb 10 has reached the end. wick 21 and this wick has meanwhile been released, by hand 22, the comb can be rotated so
to maintain the hair.
When the treatment material has been deposited on the hair, the hair can be rolled up or deposited

it is desired that the lock does not come into contact with neighboring hair.
A preferred embodiment of the device has been described above, but it is understood that this embodiment could be the subject of various variants.
Thus, it is possible to modify the proportions and dimensions of the device; the number of intervals 12 can also be modified; likewise, we
can modify the fixing system of the feed device 16, as well as its position; it is possible that the segments or protrusions 15 cover the assembly or; parts of teeth only; the conduits 20 could open over the entire height of the teeth or otherwise, in correspondence of the segments or projections 15 or not; conduits 19 and / or
