Abstract

A method and apparatus for the wet treatment of endless textile material wherein the treatment liquor is scooped up by ladles or dippers disposed on a drum rotatably mounted within a boiler, the dippers carrying the treatment liquor in the drum rotation while, at the same time, the textile material rests on the outside wall of the drum and is carried along. The treatment liquor emerges from the dippers, wets and penetrates the textile material for its intensive wet treatment. The textile material and treatment liquor return to the lower area of the boiler where they are again taken up for renewed similar treatment.

Description

5.5. The invention relates to a method and an associated device, each for the wet treatment of textile goods in endless form, according to the preamble of patent claims 1 and 5, respectively.

Die genannte hohle Ausbildung der Trommelwelle dient der Zuführung von Behandlungsflotte vom Inneren der Trommel her zum Textilgut.FR-A 20 21 131 already discloses a method and a device of the type described above, in which device the drum is arranged within a boiler and is designed to be permeable to the treatment liquor. The drum is arranged so far in the upper part of the boiler that a space remains below it in which a treatment liquor sump can be formed with the appropriate filling with treatment liquor. The textile material is guided in the form of an endless structure over the upper part of the drum and passes through the treatment liquor sump. The drum itself is formed from disc elements arranged one behind the other in the axial direction and arranged on a hollow shaft, the interior of the hollow axis being in communication with at least some of the disc spaces. The actual outer contact surface of the drum for the textile material to be treated is formed by the outer circumferences of the disc elements. The hollow construction of the drum shaft mentioned serves to supply treatment liquor from the inside of the drum to the textile material.

The wet treatment of the textile goods takes place by means of this known device and the associated method on the one hand during the passage of the textile goods through the treatment liquor sump and on the other hand under the influence of the treatment liquor supplied via the hollow shaft. In order to make the latter possible, the treatment liquor must be fed through the hollow shaft at a relatively high pressure, so that it can still be brought to the outer circumference of the drum formed from the disk elements and strikes the textile material there. However, placing the textile goods on the drum formed from the disk elements is in no way conducive to its quality, especially in the case of sensitive textile goods, since strip-like pressure marks can form on the textile goods by being placed on the peripheral edge surfaces of the disk elements. The application of the treatment liquor to the textile material from the inside of the hollow shaft requires a large amount of energy, in particular because of the necessary high outlet pressure and the pressure losses occurring in the hollow shaft. On the other hand, the application of the treatment liquor by spraying from the hollow shaft onto the textile material is only a relatively low-intensity treatment, since the textile material is not penetrated particularly intensively by the treatment liquid, but is merely sprayed with it. The energy expenditure for supplying the treatment liquor from the interior of the hollow shaft to the textile goods is already excessively large, since the parts of the treatment liquor which are directed downward when they emerge from the hollow shaft are no longer at all affected by the textile goods, since that is there Textile no longer lies on the outside of the drum.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of designing the method and the device of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that with a so-called short liquor ratio, prolonged intensive treatment of the textile goods is achieved by lengthening the treatment section and further intensifying the treatment, and the textile goods are virtually the same is not exposed to a tensile load that could affect its quality and, in particular, levelness. At the same time, care must be taken to ensure that no particular energy expenditure is required for the supply of the treatment liquor to the textile goods, in any case no excessively high energy expenditure.

This object is achieved according to the invention in procedural or device-technical terms by the measures of the characterizing part of patent claim 1 or 5.

Advantageous further developments can be seen from the associated subclaims.

The design according to the invention advantageously ensures that the textile material is in intensive contact with the treatment liquor along a quarter of the circumference of the drum, namely along the quarter of the circumference starting from the uppermost point of the drum, on which circumferential section the treatment liquor from the scoops emerges and thereby passes through the textile material. On the other hand, on the opposite side of the drum, the stacked textile material is picked up, with hardly any lifting of the textile material, since the textile material is raised from half the height of the drum and is present in a plate form almost up to this height. Insofar as the textile material is still in the treatment liquor in the form of a tablet in the interior of the boiler, this does not serve the actual wet treatment; a side effect of this "floating" storage is only that the textile material slips more easily along the inner wall of the boiler. Adherence to short liquor ratios is easily ensured by the fact that the actual treatment apparatus only has to contain so much treatment liquor that it can be scooped up by means of the scoop vessels of the drum.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to two special exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings; in the drawings show:

Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch eine erste Ausführungsform der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung, bei der die Behandlungsflotte mittels der Schöpfgefäße der Trommel aus dem Inneren des Kessels der Vorrichtung aufgeschöpft wird, undFig. 1 shows a cross section through a first embodiment of the device according to the invention, in which the treatment liquor is scooped out of the interior of the boiler of the device by means of the scoop vessels of the drum, and

Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the device according to the invention, in which the treatment liquor is scooped up from the inside of the drum by means of the scoop vessels of the drum.

The most important components of the device according to the invention are a self-contained boiler 1 and a drum 2 rotatably mounted therein with scooping vessels 3. At least in an expedient further development, the drum 2 is a motor-driven drum. In both of the illustrated embodiments, the drum 2 is mounted eccentrically upwards relative to the boiler 1 in order to provide sufficient space below the drum for receiving stacked textile goods 4.

In the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the drum 2 is designed as a self-contained cylindrical drum with scoops 3 placed on the outside. The drum 2 can be set in rotation in the direction of arrow A. During this rotation, the scoops 3, as can be readily seen from FIG. 1, take up treatment liquor from a treatment liquor sump 5 in the lower region of the interior of the boiler 1. The absorbed treatment liquor is taken along by the scoops 3 when the drum 2 rotates and only runs out of the scoops 3 when they exceed the upper vertex of the rotary movement of the drum 2.

The textile material 4 is, as shown in FIG. 1, taken up from about half the height of the drum 2 and deposited on the outside of the drum 2 when it is rotated. When the apex of the drum rotation from the scoops 3, the treatment liquor first reaches the side of the textile material 4 deposited on the drum 2, then flows through the textile material and flows down practically on both sides along the textile material downwards in the direction of the liquor treatment swamp 5. For example, opposite the receiving area of the drum 2 for the textile material 4, the drum 2 has a removal device in the form of a roller 6, by means of which the textile material 4 is removed from the drum 2, after which the textile material 4 is then freely stacked in an accordion shape. This paneled textile material continuously slips through the treatment liquor sump 5 until it is finally taken up again by the left part of the drum 2 according to FIG. 1.

Around the lower half of the drum 2 and its associated scoops 3 surrounding a baffle 7 is provided, which is permeable to the treatment liquor, so that the treatment liquor from their sump 5 access to the scoops 3.

Of course, the scoops 3 do not have to be attached to the outside of the drum 2; rather, the scoops can also be arranged towards the inside of the drum 2, their base together with the remaining areas of the actual shell of the drum 2 forming a wall impermeable to the treatment liquor, so that the treatment liquor can in turn be scooped out of the sump 5 in the manner described and can be taken along during the rotation of the drum 2 until it emerges from the scoops 3 after the rotation vertex has been exceeded.

Of course, additional devices for thermal conditioning of the treatment liquor, such as preheaters, controllers, etc., devices for circulating the treatment liquor, such as circulating pumps and the like, can be provided. There is of course also the possibility of direct heating of the boiler 1, as is indicated, for example, by means of a double jacket section 8, which is only indicated schematically in FIG. 1.

The embodiment of FIG. 2 differs from that of FIG. 1 in that the treatment liquor by means of a circulation system 9 from the sump located in the lower region of the interior of the boiler 1 and here designated 5a into a sump designated 5b inside the drum 2 to be led. So that the treatment liquor can be fed from the sump 5b to the scoops 3, openings 10 are provided in the jacket of the drum 2 from the inside to the outside. These openings 10 are essentially seen from the inside of the drum 2 equipped with baffles 11, the design of which ensures that at least the major part of the treatment liquor contained in the scoops 3 is retained in the scoops 3 during the upward part of the rotation of the drum 2 and only after the apex of the rotation of the drum 2 is released. For this purpose, the guide plates 11 are bent around the passage openings 10 in the direction of rotation A.

Furthermore, in this second embodiment the baffle 7 is a baffle impermeable to the treatment liquor, so that the treatment liquor contained in the sump 5b cannot flow down to the sump 5a.

In both exemplary embodiments, the guide plate 7 also serves to protect the textile material 4 in its paneled form against the drum 2.

In this exemplary embodiment, an even shorter liquor ratio can be used than in the exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1.

Beide Ausführungsbeispiele sowie das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren generell eignen sich zur Naßbehandlung von Textilgut sowohl in zusammengelegter Form, also in Strangform, als auch in ausgebreiteter Form, also in flacher Bahnform. Both exemplary embodiments and the method according to the invention are generally suitable for the wet treatment of textile goods both in a collapsed form, that is in a strand form, and in a spread form, that is to say in a flat web form.

Apparatus for carrying out the process according to Claim 1, comprising a closed tank and a drum rotatably supported in the latter, characterised in that the shell of the drum (2) is equipped with scooping vessels (3) for scooping treatment liquor during the rotation of the drum (2) and that the drum (2) is placed inside the tank (1) in such a way that a substantial space below the drum (2) is reserved for receiving and passing along pleated down textile material (4) from the drum (2).
6. Apparatus according to Claim 5, characterised in that the drum wall is a closed cylindrical wall containing scooping vessels (3) placed onto it.
7. Apparatus accoiding to Claim 5, characterised in that the scooping vessels (3) are provided on the inside of the drum wall, the scooping space of the scooping vessels (3) being however accessible solely from the outside of the drum wall.
8. Apparatus according to one of the Claims 5 to 7, characterised in that a removal device, particularly in the form of a stripping roller (6), is placed in succession in the direction of transport (A) of the textile material (4), approximately in the horizontal plane of the drum (2) passing through the bearing axis of the drum (2).
9. Apparatus according to one of the Claims 5 to 8, characterised in that a baffle plate (7) is provided below the drum (2), this baffle plate surrounding substantially the bottom half of the drum (2) and screening the drum (2) from the space, located below the drum, for receiving pleated down textile material (4).
10. Apparatus according to Claim 9, characterised in that the baffle plate is a baffle plate (7), permeable to treatment liquor.
11. Apparatus according to Claim 9, characterised in that the baffle plate is a closed baffle plate (7), impermeable to treatment liquor.
12. Apparatus according to Claim 9, characterised in that the drum shell contains perforations (10), passing from the inside outwards within the zone of the scooping vessels (3), via which perforations treatment liquor can be introduced from the interior of the drum into the scooping vessels (3) and to which baffle plates (11) are associated on the inside of the drum (2), these baffle plates being designed such that at least the major part of the treatment liquor contained in the scooping vessels (3) is retained in the scooping vessels (3) during the upward- directed phase of the rotation of the drum (2) and is released only after passing through the summit of rotation, and that the interior of the drum (2) communicates with the lower interior space of the tank (1) via a circulation system (9) for the treatment liquor.
