Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a plastic cap fitted with a tamper-evident ring.
  • the ring When the container is opened for the first time, corresponding to an axial displacement of the stopper, the ring is retained by the flange, and the connecting tabs between the ring and the stopper tear, allowing the latter to be withdrawn.
  • the first opening of the container can therefore be viewed immediately due to the separation between the tamper-evident ring and the cap.
  • the stopper is made of synthetic material, it is not possible to obtain it in one piece, in particular when it is desired that the stopper has a capsule-shaped part conforming to the edge of the neck of the container. and penetrating therein to ensure a good seal, essential in the case of packaging of pharmaceutical products, for example.
  • the caps used in such applications are often produced in three parts, namely: the cap itself equipped with attachment means on the neck of the container, a capsule mounted in the bottom of the cap, and a part carrying the ring. inviolability, associated with the open end of the cap skirt.
  • French patent application 2 190 687 relates to a metal screw cap comprising, near the lower end of its part in the form of a cylindrical skirt, a number of outward projections, regularly distributed around its periphery, and intended to penetrate in complementary recesses formed in a tamper-evident ring made of synthetic material, also comprising a peripheral bead coming to bear under a collar formed on the neck of the container to be closed.
  • German patent application DE 2331690 describes a plastic stopper fitted with a tamper-evident ring, comprising a first capsule intended to close the neck of a container by being fixed thereon by screwing and a second height capsule higher than that of the first, intended to be engaged on the latter, and comprising, at its lower end, a tamper-evident ring, the connection in rotation between the two capsules being readjusted by complementary nerve and grooves in their contacting walls, that is to say on the outer face of the inner capsule and on the inner face of the outer capsule.
  • the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by providing a tamper-evident plastic stopper, of simple structure.
  • This stopper of the type comprising a capsule having a bottom intended to close the opening of the container, extended by a cylindrical part the internal face of which is provided with means for hooking on the peripheral wall of the neck of the container and the external face of which has protruding parts regularly distributed over its periphery, and a tamper-evident ring secured to a cylindrical skirt of synthetic material open at its two ends and whose internal diameter is substantially equal to the external diameter of the capsule and comprising, in its face internal, recesses, of shape complementary to that of the projecting parts of the capsule, is characterized in that the cylindrical skirt carrying the tamper-evident ring has, at its end opposite the tamper-evident ring, a chamfered inner edge, completely surrounds the outer peripheral face of the capsule, the protruding parts on the outer face of the cylindrical part of the capsule and recesses them ents projecting from the internal face of the cylindrical skirt having the shape of ribs and complementary longitudinal grooves and being of substantially equal length,
  • the mounting of the cap is carried out by engagement of the capsule in the skirt, by the end of the latter opposite to that equipped with the tamper-evident ring.
  • Axial locking of the capsule in the skirt is obtained by pressing the ends of the ribs of the capsule against the shoulders of the skirt, and rotationally locking of the capsule and the skirt is obtained by complementarity of the ribs of the capsule and the skirt grooves.
  • the skirt and the capsule will remain integral, and the skirt will detach from the tamper-evident ring.
  • This stopper has, compared to existing ones, the advantage of great simplicity of construction since it consists of only two parts, while offering excellent sealing and tamper-evident qualities before first opening.
  • this cap is extremely easy to maneuver given the large surface area of the skirt which surrounds the neck of the container.
  • a skirt surrounds the capsule fixed to the neck of the container prevents the latter from being deformed by ovalization during its operation.
  • the cap shown in the drawing consists of two elements obtained independently of each other, namely a capsule (2) and a cylindrical skirt (3) engaged on the capsule (2).
  • the capsule (2) has a bottom (4) which, intended to seal the opening of the neck (5) of the container to be closed, has a double self-sealing lip (6), in order to make up for the tolerance differences at the level of the neck of the container, and to ensure excellent contact therewith.
  • From the bottom (4) of the capsule (2) projects a cylindrical part (7) having, on the inner face, a thread (8) intended to cooperate with a thread (9) that has the neck (5) of the container, to secure it.
  • the cylindrical part (7) has, on its external face, a certain number of longitudinal ribs (10).
  • the cylindrical skirt (3) is equipped, in a known manner at its lower end, with a tamper-evident ring (12) intended to come to bear, in the closed position of the container, on the lower face of a flange (13 ), which has the neck (5) of the container to be closed.
  • the tamper-evident ring (12) is connected to the body of the skirt (3) by tabs (14) of low resistance, which can be torn easily.
  • the skirt (3) has a length greater than that of the capsule (2), and an internal diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the capsule (2).
  • the skirt (3) has, from its end opposite to that equipped with the tamper-evident ring (12), a certain number of longitudinal grooves (15), of length corresponding substantially to the length of the ribs (10) that presents the capsule (2), the area of the skirt (3) having the grooves being limited by two shoulders, respectively (16) and (17) projecting towards the inside of the skirt.
  • the end of the skirt opposite to that fitted with the tamper-evident ring (12) has a chamfered inner edge (18).
  • the skirt (3) has finally, on its external face, a certain number of longitudinal ribs (19) facilitating its handling, in particular during the screwing and unscrewing of the cap on the neck (5) of the container.
  • the two parts (2) and (3) being obtained independently of one another, it is proceeded to their assembly by engagement of the capsule (2) in the skirt (3) to from its end opposite to that fitted with the tamper-evident ring (12).
  • the ribs (10) of the capsule (2) penetrate into the grooves (15) of the skirt (3).
  • the complementarity between the ribs (10) and the grooves (15) ensures the rotation blocking of the skirt relative to the capsule.
  • the ribs (10) of the capsule (2) bear on the shoulders respectively (16) and (17) of the skirt (3), avoiding any translational movement of the capsule (2) relative to the skirt ( 3).
  • the stopper After assembly of the capsule (2) and the skirt (3), the stopper is placed on a container and occupies, before the first opening, the position shown in the left part of FIG. 2.
  • the invention brings a great improvement to the existing technique by providing a plastic plug of simple design, made from only two parts, having excellent sealing and tamper-evident characteristics. before first opening.
