Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a bottle for dispensing a dose of substance intended to be applied drop by drop, for example for dispensing doses of hair treatment products which the hairdresser must distribute over the hair.
  • Bulbs of filing glass or self-breaking glass are generally used for this purpose, and, when they are used, an applicator tip made of flexible material is added to them.
  • the self-breaking bulbs generally used have the disadvantage that their ability to break remains relative; it may happen that fragments of glass fall inside the bulb, which we want to avoid at all costs, especially when the contents of the bulb are intended to be applied to the hair. Bulbs said to file are even more difficult to handle and their ability to break is also quite relative.
  • glass ampoules constitute packaging with a high final cost price for very relative ease of use.
  • the object of the present invention is to propose a bottle intended to replace, at a lower cost, the self-breaking glass bulbs or filing generally used, these bottles also providing greater ease of use.
  • the bottle according to the present invention is provided with a device which is used both for sealing and for applying the dose of substance contained in the bottle, this device being directly integrated into the bottle.
  • the assembly is also advantageously made of plastic.
  • this bottle with its associated closure and application device has an external appearance comparable to that of a glass bulb; the “pharmaceutical” nature of the glass ampoules traditionally used is therefore retained, which represents an important factor from the commercial point of view.
  • the present invention relates to the new industrial product that constitutes a container intended to contain a dose of fluid substance capable of being applied drop by drop by successive pressures on a flexible dispensing nozzle adapted to the flow orifice of said container, characterized by the fact that the container comprises a bottle on the neck of which is fitted a removable stopper capsule constituted by a skirt connected to a bottom intended to be applied, in the stoppered position, on the edge of said neck, said bottom comprising at least one light disposed opposite the edge of said neck, and that the dispensing end piece comprises, at its lower part, a sleeve by which it fits tightly around the skirt of said closure cap, so that said capsule and said dispensing tip have integral displacements, means being also provided so that said dispensing tip can be detached of the bottle, the substance being able to be dispensed by flowing through said (or said) lumen (s) of the stopper capsule when the bottom of the capsule is not applied to the neck of the bottle.
  • the closure cap is a screw cap, its skirt then being a cylindrical skirt which carries an internal thread intended to cooperate with an external thread of the neck of the bottle.
  • the bottom of the latter has lights regularly distributed on the periphery of said bottom, the central zone of the bottom carrying a stopper intended to close the neck of the bottle, when said bottom is in contact with the edge of the neck.
  • the stopper consists of a cylindrical protuberance penetrating with tightness into the listening orifice of the bottle, the free edge of said protuberance being bevelled to allow the cap to be easily adapted to the neck of the bottle.
  • the means for limiting the withdrawal movement of the closure cap consist, in particular, of a peripheral bead of the external wall of the neck of the bottle and of an internal rim of the lower edge of the sleeve of the dispensing nozzle, the bead peripheral constituting a stop for said flange.
  • the distance separating, in the corking position, the rim of the sleeve and the peripheral bead of the neck is less than the distance by which the corking capsule must be moved to pass from the corking position of the vial to the position where the skirt of said closure cap is detached from the neck of the bottle.
  • the peripheral bead provided on the neck of the bottle has on the one hand, on the side of the free edge of the neck, a conical external surface flaring towards the body of the bottle , and connected to the external wall of the neck and, on the other hand, on the side of the body of the bottle a wall substantially perpendicular to the external wall of the neck, the rim of the sleeve of the dispensing nozzle having, on the side of the edge free from the neck, an internal wall substantially perpendicular to that of said sleeve.
  • the dispensing tip comes to bear substantially on the body of the bottle.
  • the rim of the sleeve has, on the side of the body of the bottle, a conical wall complementary to that of the bottle.
  • the dispensing end piece advantageously has a reservoir chamber which is connected to the upper part of the sleeve and which is extended opposite the latter by an outlet channel.
  • the reservoir chamber has a cylindrical internal surface and an ovoid external surface, the wall of said reservoir chamber having a progressively increasing thickness from the junction of said reservoir chamber with the sleeve, then progressively decreasing towards the outlet channel.
  • the inner wall of the sleeve advantageously has, at the upper part of said sleeve, an annular bearing in permanent contact with the upper edge of the skirt of the closure cap.
  • the body of said bottle is made of polyvinyl chloride and the closure cap and the dispensing end piece which are associated therewith respectively of polypropylene and flexible polyethylene .
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 show this bottle in detail.
  • the actual bottle 2 has an elongated cylindrical body made of polyvinyl chloride, connected by a conical shoulder 3 to a neck 4.
  • the latter presents externally in the vicinity of its upper edge, a thread 5 and, below said thread 5, but however at a certain distance from the junction area of the neck 4 with the shoulder 3, a peripheral bead 6.
  • This bead 6 has a conical external surface 6a flaring towards the body of the bottle 2 and connected, at its upper part , directly to the external wall of the neck 4 and, at its lower part, along a wall 6b perpendicular to the external wall of the neck 4.
  • a plugging cap 7 made of polypropylene is capable of fitting onto the neck 4 of the bottle 2. It is constituted by a cylindrical skirt 8 connected, in the vicinity of one of its ends, to a flat bottom 9.
  • the skirt 8 whose internal edge Sa of the free edge is bevelled to facilitate the positioning of the capsule 7 on the neck 4, internally carries a thread 10 intended to come to cooperate with the thread 5 of the neck 4.
  • the bottom 9 has, at its periphery, four orifices 11 regularly arranged and each having the shape of a crown sector, as can be seen in FIG. 4.
  • these orifices 11 are located on the upper edge of the neck 4. Furthermore, the bottom 9 internally carries a cylindrical plug 12 intended to be forced into the flow orifice 13 of the bottle 2 to ensure the tight closure of the latter.
  • the lower edge 12 j3 of the plug 12 is bevelled in order to facilitate its introduction into the flow orifice 13.
  • the end piece 14 consists of a hollow body comprising, from bottom to top, a cylindrical sleeve 1 having a lower internal rim 16, a reservoir-chamber 17 and an elongated outlet channel 18.
  • the end piece 14 fits on the neck 4 closed by the capsule 7 by its sleeve 15, the latter being by its elasticity in close and constant contact with the skirt 8 of the capsule 7.
  • the internal rim 16 of the sleeve 15 comes, in the locking position of the end piece 14, bearing on the conical shoulder 3 connecting the body of the bottle 2 to its neck 4.
  • the rim 16 has an external conical wall 16b, flaring in direction of the body of the bottle 2.
  • the internal wall 16a of the rim 16 is perpendicular to the cylindrical wall of the sleeve 1 5, the rim 16 being susceptible, during the upward translation of the endpiece 14 and the capsule 7, to come into abutment against the wall 6b of the bead 6.
  • the cylindrical wall of the sleeve 1 5 has a greater thickness so as to internally form an annular seat 15a in permanent contact with the upper edge of the skirt 8 which protrudes from the bottom 9.
  • the sleeve 15 is connected, in a curved portion 15b to the reservoir-chamber 17.
  • the latter has a cylindrical internal surface arranged in the extension of the flow orifice 13 of the bottle 2 and an ovoid external surface , the reservoir chamber 17 having a progressively increasing thickness from the junction zone between the domed upper part 15b of the sleeve 15, then progressively decreasing, so as to extend along the elongated outlet channel 18.
  • the distance separating, in the locked position of the end piece 14, the flange 16 of the sleeve 15 and the peripheral bead 6 of the neck 4 is substantially equal to the distance by which the end piece has to be moved 14 upwards so that the capsule 7 is just in contact by the internal lower edge of the skirt 8 with the neck 4 of the bottle 2.
  • each flexible bottle applicator tip 14 is placed on each bottle 2, the rim 16 resting on its outer face 16b on the conical shoulder 3 of the bottle 2, and the annular surface 1 5a being in contact with the upper edge of the skirt 8 of the capsule 7.
  • the end piece 14 acts as a protective over-pot in this position for plugging the bottle 2.
  • the capsule 7 and the end piece 14 are now made integral for use and they therefore constitute the closure and application device integrated into the bottle, which is the originality of the present invention.
  • the user When the user wishes to dispense the dose of product, he unscrews the assembly constituted by the capsule 7 and the nozzle 14, the unscrewing movement causing the release of the flow orifice 13 of the bottle 2, the liquid contained in the bottle 2 being able to flow freely through the openings 11 which are formed in the bottom 9 of the capsule 7.
  • the withdrawal of the capsule 7 with its dispensing tip 14 is limited by the fact that the rim 16 of the sleeve 15 of the 'end piece bears against the bead 6. In this position, the capsule 7 is not yet completely separated from the bottle 2. It is then sufficient by successive pressures on the end piece 14 to release the product drop by drop the outlet channel 18.
  • the capsule 7 is always in the same position relative to the dispensing end piece 14, the upper edge of its skirt 8 being in contact with the annular surface 15a.
