Definitions
- the invention relates to a fire and flue gas barrier for installation in sewer pipes and.
- the like. consisting of a housing with opposite end openings, each of which a flap is assigned, and a temperature sensor for triggering the movement of both flaps, the housing having a larger circumference than the sewer pipes to be connected and is provided with two annular end walls, the limit the openings.
- Such a fire barrier is known from DE-A 21 10 643.
- the flaps are thin, flexible wings that snap into their locked position when released. A secure seal is not possible because the contact pressure of the sash is low and is completely lost in high heat.
- US-A-18 98 821 a fire barrier is known which has two rigid closure flaps, which, however, are pivoted in opposite directions such that one flap is always closed and the other is open. The flaps are operated from the outside by means of a built-in linkage. When exposed to heat, the linkage bends and the locking effect is lost.
- the object of the invention is to provide a fire and flue gas barrier of the above type, which has an absolutely safe locking function.
- closure flaps are rigid, the pivot axes of which are arranged adjacent to one of the end walls outside the flow path in such a way that each of the closure flaps is approximately parallel to and outside the flow path in the open state and the middle regions of both closure flaps lie during the final phase of the closing movement away from each other and that an axially parallel locking anchor acting directly on the two mutually facing inner surfaces of the closure flaps is provided, which is mounted so as to be displaceable radially to the flow axis, has a length approximately equal to the clear axial distance of the closure flaps pressed against the end walls, with a is connected by a sliding drive movable push rod and which simultaneously locks the two flaps in opposite directions in its locking position.
- a single stable mechanical locking anchor wedges the two flaps absolutely securely.
- a further development of the invention consists in the fact that the sliding drive is a piston-cylinder arrangement actuated by hydraulic fluid. This automatically compensates for tolerances and achieves self-adjustment.
- closure flaps are rigid, the pivot axes of which are arranged adjacent to one of the end walls outside the flow path in such a way that each of the closure flaps is approximately parallel to and outside the flow path in the open state and the middle regions of both During the final phase of the closing movement, move the closing flaps away from one another, that the housing is connected to a coolant supply source and to a liquid outlet line via a supply line containing a solenoid valve, and that the liquid outlet line has a smaller cross section than the narrowest point of the supply line to form an overpressure in the housing , so that the two flaps are acted upon by the hydrostatic excess pressure in opposite directions.
- the pressurized medium in the housing which is under pressure, keeps the flaps in the locked position and, thanks to the constant supply of cool liquid, they are prevented from heating up to an admissible extent.
- the mechanical locking system with the locking anchor and the hydrostatic locking system are preferably used together in order to double the security.
- a housing 10 is inserted between two duct sections 12, 14 of an air or gas duct.
- B. has a rectangular cross section and is provided with two spaced end walls 16, 18. Openings 20, 22 aligned with one another are formed in the end walls, the cross section of which corresponds to the clear cross section of the channel sections 12, 14.
- the openings 20, 22 are all around at a distance from the peripheral walls of the housing 10 and are provided with a refractory seal 24 surrounding the openings 20, 22 in the form of a ring.
- two flaps 26, 28 are pivotally mounted on parallel pivot axes 30, 32.
- the two pivot axes 30, 32 are parallel to one another in a common plane parallel to the flow axis 34.
- the axes 30, 32 also extend parallel to the end walls 16, 18 and are each arranged adjacent to them.
- the inside length of the housing is at least twice the length of the two flaps, so that they can be in a horizontal plane in the open position. It is understood that the length of the flaps is large enough to close the openings 20, 22, the End walls 16, 18 are overlapped all around.
- a locking anchor 36 Arranged above the closure flaps 26, 28 is a locking anchor 36 which is narrower than the closure flaps and whose longitudinal center is above the longitudinal center of the closure flaps.
- the locking anchor 36 can alternatively also have an H-shaped shape with two parallel longitudinal legs. In any case, the length of the locking anchor 36 is approximately equal to the clear distance between the end walls 16, 18 of the housing minus twice the wall thickness of a closure flap, this wall thickness being measured approximately in the region of the fluid line 34.
- magnets 38, 40 On both sides next to the rod-shaped locking anchor 36 are magnets 38, 40, which are fastened to downward-pointing tabs, which in turn are fastened to the upper wall of the housing 10.
- the pair of magnets 38 and the pair of magnets 40 lie at a level slightly below the lower surface of the locking armature 36, so that the closure flaps 26, 28 can engage with these pairs of magnets and are held by the magnets in the horizontal open position.
- each closure flap which is located between the two locking anchor longitudinal struts.
- the locking anchor 36 is screwed in its longitudinal and transverse center to an upstanding piston 42 which is guided in a cylinder 44 so as to be vertically displaceable.
- the cylinder 44 is screwed onto a housing connection piece.
- a piston rod 46 is arranged which projects upwards through a bore in the end face of the cylinder 44 and which is shown broken off here, but in reality projects upwards by the length of the piston stroke and carries a handle at the end .
- a guide ring 50 with the same diameter as the piston 42 is located on the piston rod at a distance from the upper piston surface 48.
- the guide ring 50 is provided with a number of axial passages 52.
- this guide ring 50 bears against the upper cylinder end wall.
- a liquid line 54 opens into the cylinder 44.
- This liquid line belongs to an inlet system that is either connected to the fire extinguishing water system or can belong to a separate cooling circulation system that includes a circulation pump and a cooler having. If the pipe 54 is connected to the water system, it is sufficient to install a solenoid valve 56 which is closed in the rest position and in front of which the water in the pipeline is under a corresponding pressure.
- the solenoid valve 56 is connected via an electrical line 58 to a temperature sensor 60, which is located in the interior of the channel section 14.
- An electrical line not shown, connects the solenoid valve to a power source.
- the housing 10 has in its upper wall a liquid outlet connection 62, to which an outlet line 64 is connected, which is connected to the sewage system.
- a circulation pump replaces the solenoid valve 56 and the drain line 64 is connected to a cooler, from where a connecting line leads back to the pump.
- the closure flaps 26, 28 and the actuators are held in the position shown in FIG. 1.
- the exhaust gas temperature increases, which actuates a relay in the solenoid valve 56 via the sensor 60, as a result of which the solenoid valve receives and opens current, so that water or another cooling liquid flows into the space above the piston 42 in the cylinder 44, which is then pushed down.
- the locking armature 36 has a projection in the region of the two ends of the locking flaps 26, 28, so that upon the initial movement of the piston 42 a downward force is exerted on the ends of the locking flaps.
- the force of the magnets 38, 40 is overcome and the two closure flaps 26, 28 fall into their vertical closed position, as shown in FIG. 2.
- This downward pivoting of the two flaps is supported by the downward movement of the locking armature 36, which is moved together with the piston 42.
- the two mutually facing inner surfaces 70, 72 of the closure flaps 26, 28 have ramp-shaped inclined surfaces 66, 68 across the width of the locking anchor 36. These two inclined surfaces form a downwardly tapering gap in which the locking anchor 36 moves downward until the distance between the two surfaces 66, 68 becomes equal to the locking anchor length, so that it contacts the two locking flaps 26, 28.
- the upper piston surface 48 lies below the upper wall of the housing. Nevertheless, the piston is guided by the guide ring 50 and the piston rod. The coolant can thus enter the interior of the housing 10 through the openings 52 in the guide ring 50 and quickly fills the housing.
- the cross-section of the drain line is smaller than the narrowest cross-section in the feed system, including the entry into the cylinder 10, so that an overpressure arises in the interior of the housing and is maintained.
- This overpressure acts on both closure flaps 26, 28 and additionally secures them in the closed position. Since water continuously flows out through the drain pipe 64 and is replaced by new, cooler water, the liquid filling cannot heat up inadmissibly. The two flaps 26, 28 are effectively cooled. If one side of the duct system is strongly heated by fire, the heat is not transferred to the other duct section separated by the housing 10. The fire and flue gas barrier works in both directions.
- the two magnets 38, 40 can also be designed as electromagnets.
- the power supplies are then also controlled by a sensor 60 via a relay, so that when the sensor responds, the electromagnets become de-energized so that the flaps 26, 28 can pivot in their closed position before the piston stroke begins.
