Definitions

  • the invention relates to a bottle stopper, in particular for champagne bottles, in which the closure body, which is formed in one piece from plastic, has a sealing shaft, which enters the bottle neck like a stopper and extends centrally from the bottom inner surface of a cap, the jacket wall of which is provided with a thread on its inner surface, which is in engagement to the external thread of the bottle neck, and which sealing shaft protrudes on the area carrying the thread and has at least one annular sealing rib projecting over its circumferential surface and lying in a transverse plane.
  • a bottle stopper of this type is known from DE-A No. 2614538.
  • the annular sealing rib lies there in the threaded area, specifically in the end region of the sealing shaft on the inside of the floor. From there it continues into a rib running in the shape of a helix to the protruding section. The latter, together with the inner wall of the bottle neck, forms a helically rising channel.
  • the closed sealing rib lying on a transverse plane lifts off from the inside wall of the bottle neck on the mouth side, so that the gas can escape via CO 2 -containing liquids. It enters the annular space of the cap that is released when unscrewing and from there via a path of the bottle neck formed by the external thread to the outside.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy this situation and to design a generic bottle stopper while maintaining the advantageous one-piece construction in such a way that the noise that occurs when the bottle is opened is of a bang-like character and is forced in time as it is when opening champagne bottles with a normal, wire-secured one Basket plug is common and attractive.
  • the subclaim relates to an advantageous development of the bottle stopper according to the invention.
  • a generic bottle stopper of particularly high utility value is created: as soon as the thread area has been run through, the stopper-like closure body jumps off, producing the desired "plop" effect, since the transverse, annularly closed sealing rib of the sealing adhesive is located in front of the thread area.
  • the sealing rib can directly adjoin the thread area; a certain distance from it can also be maintained. The thread no longer determines the opening process; it rather only brings the opening of the bottle stopper. Therefore, there is no obstacle to common handling in terms of leaving the jumping more or less up to chance.
  • the outer shape of the closure body is spherical and the inner surface of the casing wall runs in three successive step sections, the middle of which carries the threads that extend up to a step section serving as a support surface for the bottle neck on the inside of the bottom wall, which partly in there is an annular groove at the foot of the operating shaft.
  • the individual step sections are thus used most favorably in accordance with the stabilization requirements, in particular with regard to the selected crank-shaped outer shape of the closure body: this results in a reduction in area for the step section forming the supporting surface, which results in a kind of triangular Sealing lip leads. This provides an effective additional seal from the outside.
  • the step section with a wider cross-section is used to create the deepest possible thread.
  • the last step section on the edge of the cap forms a thin-walled apron surrounding the bottle bead.
  • the bottle stopper 1 is designed as a spherical cap. It is realized as a one-piece closure body made of plastic.
  • a free-standing, cylindrical sealing shaft 3 extends centrally from the bottom inner surface 2 for plug-like entry into the opening 4 of the neck 5 of a bottle 6.
  • the sealing shaft 3 has a plurality of annular, equally high sealing ribs 7 protruding beyond its jacket or circumferential surface 3 '.
  • the inner wall 11' of the bottle neck 5 is of cylindrical design at least over the immersion area of the sealing ring 7 lying in front.
  • the latter run in the transverse plane E-E and are arranged at a distance from one another which corresponds to at least one and a half times the width of a sealing rib 7.
  • Their cross section is semicircular in Fig. 1 and triangular in Fig. 2. It is an equilateral triangular shape, one side of the triangle being rooted in the cylindrical peripheral surface 3 'of the sealing shaft 3.
  • the distribution of the individual sealing ribs 7 on the sealing shaft 3 is such that a plurality of sealing ribs 7 extend in the area of a thread 8 of the cap.
  • the latter is designed as an inward projection V on the inner surface 9 'of a jacket wall 9 which concentrically surrounds the sealing shaft 3 and is in engagement with the corresponding external thread 10 on the neck 5 of a bottle, in particular a champagne bottle 6 (cf. FIG. 2).
  • the sealing shaft 3 protrudes beyond the projection V formed as a multi-start thread 8; At least one of the sealing ribs 7 is located at the level of the last thread turn 8 'facing the bottle neck 5 or beyond it, that is to say on the projecting section A of the sealing shaft 3. This has the consequence that until the thread 8 emerges from the external thread 10 Bottleneck 5 tight closure is present.
  • the increased internal pressure due to the release of carbonic acid now suddenly presses the closure body to produce the desired " plop" effect from the closed position. Since practically only one sealing rib 7 is in sealing engagement with the bottle neck at the time the thread emerges, the sealing ribs 7 arranged above it no longer occur, or not all, as a friction factor. The bottle mouth is suddenly released.
  • the multi-thread 8 and correspondingly designed external thread 10 ensure the necessary tilt-free displacement of the sealing shaft 3.
  • a two-start thread is sufficient, the thread extensions 8 "then being diametrically opposite one another.
  • a three-start helix thread is more favorable due to the three-point tap or thread outlet of the two threads to be obtained therefrom (FIG. 3).
  • the inner surface 9 'of the jacket wall 9 runs in three successive step sections.
  • the middle step section carries the multi-start thread 8.
  • the thread 8 extends to a support surface 13 formed by the next step section for the end ring surface 14 of the bottle neck 5.
  • the ring-shaped support surface 13 provides an additional seal of the cap on the bottle neck 5.
  • the support surface 13 is partially in one Ring groove 15 over. The latter concentrically surrounds the base of the sealing shaft 3. Due to the reduction in the area of the support surface 13, the sealing effect is increased. So there is a more lip-like projection.
  • the inner wall 16 of the hollow cylindrical sealing shaft 3 which is open towards the bottle neck 5 is provided with a plurality of longitudinal corrugations 16 '.
  • the corresponding cavity serves as shown in FIG. 2 for receiving a cork 17, should such be desired in the case of high-quality bottle contents.
  • the corrugation contributes to its definition, which is further increased by the inward pressure on the bottle neck.
  • the inner wall 11 'of the bottle neck 5 is shown in broken lines.
  • the sealing shaft is shown in its physical shape in order to be able to reproduce the profile of the sealing ribs 7 in the basic shape.
  • Fitting the bottle with the bottle cap according to the invention is made easier by the measure that the outer edge of the sealing shaft 3 on the side of the assignment is chamfered at 18.
  • a corresponding chamfer 19 is located on the inner edge of the end ring surface 14 of the bottle neck 5.
  • the grip of the bottle stopper is increased by vertically oriented corrugations 20 provided on the outside of the cap.
  • the corrugations 20 are interrupted at the level of the thread area, in that an annular rib 21 extends around the entire circumference of the ball, essentially in the area of the horizontal center plane of the ball. they represents an advantageous, stabilizing strapping according to the material accumulation going beyond the already increased wall thickness there.
  • the jacket wall 9 merges into a zone with a reduced cross section. This forms an apron 23 that completely or partially overlaps the collar 22 of the bottle neck.
  • the operator When the bottle is reclosed with the bottle stopper 1, the operator will first have to overcome a slight resistance, namely the resistance that is required to place the lower sealing rib 7, which maintains the seal, in the bottle neck. Only then does the three-start thread of the cap engage in the external thread of the bottle neck 5 when screwing.
