Definitions
- the present invention relates to a boiler control according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such boiler controls are preferably used in boilers heated with solid fuels.
- a control thermostat acted upon by the boiler temperature or the flow temperature works against a plunger supported on the control thermostat under spring pressure.
- the ram can be moved against the spring by the control thermostat when the boiler heats up.
- a device is provided in order to convert the displacement movement of the tappet into a movement of a supply air flap.
- the end of a chain moving the supply air flap is connected to the end of a pivotable lever actuated by the thermostat via a detachable connection.
- This connection consists of an eye and a cotter pin securing the chain end in the eye or a claw, into which the end of the chain is suspended.
- the cotter pin or a movable part of the claw is connected to a further chain or a rod, and this chain is locked in place at its other end or the rod is displaceable against a stop, so that at a certain stroke of the pivotable lever and so that a certain degree of opening of the supply air flap pulls the cotter pin out of the eye or the claw is opened and the end of the chain actuating the supply air flap is released.
- the supply air flap thus closes due to its own weight, so that the temperature of the boiler cannot continue to rise.
- Such a device is mechanically complex, accessible from the outside and is controlled by the degree of opening of the supply air flap instead of directly by the boiler temperature.
- the safety device is designed as a fusible link fuse within the actual control thermostat, which fuse melts when a certain limit temperature is reached, so that the spring and the lever arranged in the thermostat or the chain the supply air flap is closed.
- a fusible link fuse a faulty response is most reliably ruled out if the working temperature and the safety temperature are as far apart as possible.
- a fusible link fuse has a relatively high thermal time constant, so that the excessive boiler temperature can only be returned slowly.
- EP-A-0 040 373 shows a bimetal element as a connecting element between the control thermostat and the lever moving the chain. In the event of an excess temperature, the force transmission between the control thermostat and the lever is interrupted by deformation of the bimetal element. This arrangement also has a relatively high thermal time constant.
- a plunger 12 is rotatably mounted in the housing axis in a cylindrical housing 10 and is connected to a temperature setting button 14 on the front.
- a helical spring 16 is arranged, which prestresses the plunger 12 against an arm 18 of a lever 20 and against a control thermostat 22.
- the lever 20 is pivotally mounted on the housing 10 via a bearing pin 24.
- One arm 18 of the lever 20 is supported on an inclined ramp surface 26 of the plunger 12, so that the lever 20 is pivoted when the adjusting knob 14 and thus the plunger 12 are rotated.
- the other, free arm of the lever 20 is connected via a chain 30 to the supply air flap, not shown, of a boiler.
- a hexagon nut 32 is connected to the housing 10, with a screw 34 in a bore in the housing 10 and in an annular groove engages on a cylindrical projection 36 of the hexagon nut 32.
- the hexagon nut 32 has on the other side a shoulder 37 with an external thread and it is provided with a stepped inner bore 38 over its entire length.
- An immersion sleeve 40 which receives the control thermostat 22, is inserted sealingly into the inner bore 38.
- This control thermostat 22 comprises a metal bellows 42 which is filled with an expansion medium.
- the metal bellows 42 is closed at the top by an upper part 44 and at the bottom by a bottom part 46.
- the plunger 12 is supported on the upper part 44.
- a support tube 47 is arranged in the metal bellows 42, which in the event of a failure of the control thermostat 22, for example due to a leaky metal bellows 42, limits its length reduction to a certain amount.
- a U-shaped insert 48 is inserted from below into the immersion sleeve 40 and connected to it.
- a spacer piston 50 is guided in the U-shaped recess, which is on the one hand on the bottom part 46 of the metal bellows 42 and on the other hand on the actuating pin 52 of a safety thermostat 54 supports, which is screwed into the insert 48 from below.
- the spacer piston 50 is provided with a diametrical bore 56, a compression spring 58 in this bore pushing two locking bolts 60 outwards against the U-shaped recess.
- the boiler control unit operates in the usual way, which need not be explained in more detail here.
- the control thermostat 22 fails because, for example, the metal bellows 42 becomes leaky, the supply air flap will be fully open even at a high boiler temperature.
- the support tube 47 is first arranged in the metal bellows 42, so that the length reduction of the control thermostat 22 is limited even in the case of a leaky metal bellows. Since, despite this limited length reduction of the control thermostat 22, if the control thermostat fails, an increased boiler temperature cannot be counteracted, the safety thermostat 54 is screwed into the insert 48 from behind.
- This safety thermostat 54 has a wax mixture which only changes to the liquid phase when the boiler temperature reaches the control range, which is normally between 30 ° and 90 ° C.
- the response temperature of the safety thermostat 54 is gem. Fig. 2, for example, with 100 ° C. Since the path / temperature characteristic curve of the safety thermostat runs very steeply, a path has been covered, for example at 105 ° C., by the actuating pin 152 which is greater than the total path covered in the control range A with functional control thermostats 22. It can be seen from FIG. 2 that in the safety area S the actuating pin 52 executes a stroke of 10 mm when the boiler temperature is increased by 50 ° C. This path is greater than the total extension of 7 mm specified by the control thermostat 22 in the control range A.
- the actuating pin 52 moves the spacer piston 50 and, via the support tube 47, the entire control thermostat 22 against the plunger 12, so that the supply air flap is guided into the closed position via the lever 20 and the chain 30.
- the locking bolts 60 come out under the pressure of the spring 58 and place a shoulder 62 on the insert 48.
- the supply air flap remains desirably closed even when the boiler temperature is lowered.
- FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of the present invention, in which in the case of an actuated safety device, i. H. of the safety thermostat, the locking of the safety device can be unlocked without the need for a special tool and disassembly of any parts.
- the components in this exemplary embodiment correspond to those in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, they are provided with the same reference numbers. Modified components that perform the same function are given a comma with respect to their reference numbers, and newly added components are given different reference numbers.
- a hexagon nut or a nipple 32 ′ is connected to the housing 10 in the same way as was the case in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1.
- An insert 48 'in the form of a threaded perforated disk is inserted from below into the immersion sleeve 40 and connected to it.
- the safety thermostat 54 is screwed into the threaded perforated disk 48 'from below and is supported with its actuating pin 52 on the base piece 46 of the metal bellows 42.
- a spacer piston 50 ′ is supported on the upper part 44 that closes off the metal bellows 42.
- the plunger 12 is supported on the spacer piston 50 'on the opposite side.
- a diametrically extending groove 64 is cut into the spacer piston 50 'from below.
- a locking bolt 66 penetrates the groove 64 and is on the one hand with an actuating button 68 and on the other hand with a locking sleeve 60 'provided, both of which have an enlarged diameter compared to the locking bolt 66.
- the actuation button 68 is guided in a bore 70 in the hexagon nipple 32 'and the locking sleeve 60' is supported by a spring 58 'in a blind bore 72 which is coaxial with the bore 70 and is fitted from the inside in the hexagon nipple 32'.
- An axially parallel milling 74 on the spacer piston 50 'in the region of the groove 64 adjacent to the locking sleeve 60' forms a shoulder 62 'against which the locking sleeve 60' rests when the arrangement consisting of metal bellows 42, spacer piston 50 'and plunger 12 with an appealing safety thermostat 54 is shifted upwards by a corresponding distance.
- the arrangement can be brought back into its working position by moving the locking sleeve 60 'against the force of the spring 58' via the actuating button 68 and the locking bolt 66, so that the locking sleeve 60 'no longer places the shoulder 62'.
- the helical spring 16 pushes the entire arrangement consisting of the spacer piston 50 ′ and the control thermostat 22 back into the position shown, in which the control thermostat 22 bears against the actuating pin 52 of the safety thermostat 54.
- other devices can be provided which prevent the spacer piston 50, 50 'from being pushed back again when the safety thermostat 54 moves. It is also possible to dispense with the locking device on the spacer piston, but in this case the temperature of the boiler is adjusted to a temperature in the safety area S.
Description
- Figur 1 einen Längsschnitt durch ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel des erfindungsgemäßen Kesselzugreglers ;
Fig. 2 beispielsweise mit 100 °C vorgegeben.
