An der Deichsel ist ein Brenngasbehälter 78 angeordnet. Dieser versorgt einen Brenner 80 am Vorlaufende des Geräts (nur in Fig. 1 dargestellt). Claims (19)

1. Scraper apparatus for removing covering layers from roadways and walkways, comprising a chassis (10), three road wheels (12, 14, 16), namely two forward road wheels (12, 14) lying coaxially side by side and a non-steerable road wheel (16) to the rear in the direction of travel, at least one of these road wheels (12, 14, 16) being in driving connection with a drive unit (44), a steering element (60) and at least one motor-driven scraper cylinder (46, 48) which is settable with its covering-engagement zone in each case to a level below the plane of the lower common tangent of the road wheels (12, 14, 16), characterised by the combination of the features:
a) the steering element (60) is formed as a follower guide pole fitted substantially rigidly to the chassis;
b) the two forward road wheels (12,14) are also not steerable;
c) the rear road wheel (16) is in drive connection with the drive unit (44);
d) behind the rear road wheel (16), in the direction of travel, a steering wheel (74) is provided approximately in the middle of the track between the two forward road wheels (12, 14);
e) a height-setting device (26) is provided for setting the height of the steering wheel (74) in relation to the road wheels (12, 14, 16), by which device the steering wheel (74) is displaceable down to below the common tangent plane of the road wheels (12,14,16);
f) the steering wheel (74) is freely rotatable about a vertical steering axis (72) and is offset with its axle (76) in relation to the steering axis (72).
2. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 1, characterised in that the two forward road wheels (12, 14) are mutually independently rotatably mounted, undriven idler wheels (12,14).
3. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) is arranged, in the direction of travel, between the forward road wheels (12, 14) and the rear road wheel (16).
4. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the steering wheel (74) is articulated to the chassis (10) for pivoting up and down about a pivot axis (64) parallel to its axe (76) between a rest position (Fig. 1) and a working position (Fig. 2).

Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the road wheels (12, 14, 16) are mounted on pivot levers (18, 20, 36, 38) which are mounted on the chassis (10) for pivoting about pivot axes (22,40) parallel to the wheel axles, and are displaceable in relation to the chassis (10) by a preferably common drive system (26).

Scraper apparatus according to Claim 5, characterised in that the pivot levers (18, 20) of the two forward road wheels (12, 14) are connected by a common pivot shaft (22) and this is connected through a lever linkage (30, 32, 34) with a pivot shaft (40) of the pivot lever (36, 38) allocated to the rear road wheel (16).
7. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) is fitted fixedly on the chassis (10) and in that the road wheels (12, 14, 16) with their axles are adjustable in height, continuously or by steps, in relation to the chassis (10).
8. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) possesses at least one scraper bit row (58) arranged in helical form.
9. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) and - if motor-driven - the road wheels (16) are driven from one common drive unit (44), possibly through different gear outputs.
10. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46,48) is arranged axially parallel to the road wheels (12,14,16).
11. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 10, characterised in that it comprises two scraper cylinders (46, 48) lying one behind the other in the direction of travel in substantially the same track, of which the rear cylinder (48), in the direction of travel (F), is set to a greater scraping depth than is the forward one (46) in the direction of travel.
12. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 11, characterised in that the two scraper cylinders (46, 48) are oppositely rotatable and adapted to one another in form, arrangement and rotation rate in such a way that they generate at least approximately no resultant propulsion force.
13. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 12, characterised in that it is equipped with a covering preheater (78, 80).
14. Scraper apparatus according to of Claim 13, characterised in that the covering preheater comprises a burner (80) arranged before the scraper cylinder (46, 48) in the direction of travel.
15. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 13 or 14, characterised in that a fuel gas reservoir (78) is arranged on the steering pole (60).
16. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 15, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) protrudes, transversely of the direction of travel, to one side beyond the outermost road wheel (12) in this direction.
17. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 16, characterised in that the scraper cylinder (46, 48) protrudes laterally beyond the one forward road wheel (12) transversely of the direction of travel.
18. Scraper apparatus according to Claim 17, characterised in that the rear road wheel (16) is offset towards the one forward road wheel (12) at maximum to run in the same track with it.
19. Scraper apparatus according to one of Claims 1 to 18, characterised in that the chassis (10) is provided with a hoisting eye (82) lying above the centre of gravity.
