  • This invention relates to improvements in paving breakers.
  • Conventional paving breakers comprise a handle which includes an air supply control valve, a cylinder in which the operating piston reciprocates, and a front end which incorporates a chuck bushing and means for retaining the tool bit. Hitherto, bolts, studs or set pins have been used to attach the handle to the cylinder and the cylinder to the front end. Such arrangements suffer from the disadvantage that assembly and dismantling of the breaker involve complicated procedures.
  • the operating cylinder is attached to the handle by means of eccentric bolts 4 which pass through apertures formed in the handle and in the cylinder.
  • the bolts 4 by virtue of the relative positioning of the apertures in the handle and in the cylinder, are provided with a flattened portion which, when turned, serves to lock the cylinder and the handle together. It is a disadvantage of this arrangement that special bolts are required having the requisite flattened portion and that the apertures in the handle and cylinder require to be offset.

  • the cylinder 20 is attached to the handle 10 by means of a pair of spring pins 21 received in and co-operating with semi-circular apertures 22 drilled in the handle 10 and corresponding semi- circular apertures 23 drilled in the cylinder 20.
  • the apertures 22 and 23 are offset by an interference amount so that when the pins 21 are inserted, the cylinder 20 is held tightly against the handle 10.

Each half of the muffler is symmetrical about a horizontal axis so that a complete shape may be formed from two identical parts simply by inverting one of them.

Claims (4)

1. Straßendeckenaufbruchgerät mit einem Handgriff (10, 60), einem Zylinder (20, 50) und einem Vorderteil (30, 70), wobei die jeweiligen Enden des Zylinders (20, 50) in zylindrische Bohrungen in dem Handgriff (10, 60) bzw. in dem Vorderteil (30, 70) eingreifen und in diesen durch Befestigungsteile gehalten sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Handgriff (10, 60) an einem Ende des Zylinders (20, 50) mittels Federstiften (21, 51) befestigt ist, die durch Öffnungen (22, 23) in dem Handgriff (10, 60) und in dem Zylinder (20, 50) hindurchgesteckt sind und daß das andere Ende des Zylinders (20, 50) an dem Vorderteil (30, 70) ebenfalls mittels Federstiften (32, 52) befestigt ist, die durch Öffnungen (38, 39) in dem Zylinder (20, 50) und in dem Vorderteil (30, 70) hindurchgesteckt sind.
2. Straßendeckenaufbruchgerät nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Zylinder (50) aus einem gewalzten Stahlrohr gebildet ist.
3. Straßendeckenaufbruckgerät nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das untere Ende des Zylinders (20, 50) über eine äußere Leitung (80) an ein Luftzuführsteuerventil (12) in dem Handgriff (10, 60) angeschlossen ist.
4. Straßendeckenaufbruchgerät nach Anspruch 1 oder 2 oder 3 mit einem Schalldämpfer, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Schalldämpfer (90) aus zwei identischen Teilen besteht.
