Definitions
- the invention relates to a vacuum 'onnection with a self-closing valve in relief with a device for the automatic coupling of molds vacuum solidified to a vacuum network.
- Vacuum-strengthened casting molds obtain their dimensional stability from the negative pressure generated in the interior of the casting mold, ie in the molding compound. This negative pressure must always be maintained during the manufacture of the molds, during transport and during storage at the casting stations and also during the subsequent transports, since otherwise the molding compound loses its solidified state.
- the casting molds are connected to the vacuum connections located at the individual stations, which is achieved either by simply attaching the hoses by hand or by mechanically actuated couplings in connection with valve controls to the vacuum network.
- the invention has the object of providing a vacuum connection for vacuum solidified casting molds of the aforementioned A rt propose in which a manual coupling and decoupling is eliminated and which is simple in addition to high reliability in construction and therefore inexpensive to manufacture.
- valve body of the vacuum connection is displaceable under the action of the load by the mold in the vertical direction against a spring force that the valve is opened or closed depending on the displacement path and thus a connection between the vacuum network and the valve outlet manufactures and that the valve outlet is provided with a sealing surface on which the casting mold can be placed, which has a check valve arrangement in the region of the valve outlet producing the connection to the interior of the casting mold.
- the vacuum connection thus has a valve body that is displaceable in the vertical direction against a spring force and on which the casting mold can be completely or partially deposited, in any case undergoes a displacement in the vertical direction under the weight of the casting mold. With this downward displacement, the valve is opened so that a negative pressure is generated at the valve outlet.
- This valve outlet is opposite a check valve, which is arranged in the mold. If there is negative pressure on the outside of this check valve, it opens automatically so that the casting mold is connected to the vacuum network via the negative pressure connection. To connect and disconnect the mold to the vacuum network, it only needs to be placed on the vacuum connections or removed from them again. Manual work is not required.
- supports are arranged next to the vacuum connection, which serve to receive the casting mold and whose height is so far below the rest position of the vacuum connections that they are displaced when the casting mold is set down so that the vacuum connection opens.
- inclined surfaces pointing to these vacuum connections are arranged on all sides of these vacuum connections, so that the casting mold automatically assumes the correct position relative to the vacuum connections even if it is placed inaccurately.
- the vacuum connection 1 consists of a valve body 2 with a connecting piece 3, to which a vacuum line of a vacuum network, not shown, is connected.
- a guide rod 5 which is connected to a base plate 4 and which extends through a bore 6 of the valve body 2.
- a seal 7 is arranged, which prevents compressed air from entering the valve body 2 along the guide rod 5.
- valve plate 8 At the upper end of the guide rod 5, a valve plate 8 is attached, which rests on a valve seat 9 of a valve, generally designated 10.
- the valve seat 9 has a circumferential seal 11 which prevents compressed air from escaping when the valve 10 is closed.
- a pressure spring 13 acts on the bottom 12 of the valve body 2, the other end of which is supported on the bottom plate 4. The compression spring presses the valve body 1 upwards, so that it rests on the valve plate 9 in the unloaded state.
- a sealing surface 14 is formed in the valve body 2, which is perpendicular to the guide rod 5.
- the underside of a casting mold 15, which has a circumferential annular channel 16, can be placed on this sealing surface 14.
- This annular channel 16 has, at the points where it is to be placed on the vacuum connection 1, check valves 17 which consist of a resilient membrane 18 which is fastened centrally to the bottom 19 of the casting mold 15. This membrane is fastened to the outside of the bottom 19 of the casting mold, so that the check valve only opens if there is a lower pressure in front of the membrane 18 than inside the casting mold 15.
- the casting mold 15 is placed on the vacuum connection 1, the valve body 2 being displaced downwards towards the bottom 4 along the guide rod 5 against the spring force of the spring 13.
- the valve plate 8 lifts off from the valve seat 9, so that the space 20 in front of the check valve 17 is evacuated via the connecting piece 3, the valve 10.
- the check valve 17 opens, so that the pressure inside the casting mold 15 is further reduced via the connecting piece 3 can be.
- the sealing seat 14 detaches from the mold 15, so that an excess pressure builds up in the space 20, which immediately closes the check valve 17 again.
- the mold can then be placed on a trolley or at another processing station be, the mold is automatically connected to the vacuum network via a same vacuum connection 1.
- two vacuum connections 1 are arranged next to one another and are each intended for the lower case 21 or the upper case 22 of a casting mold 23.
- the lower as well as the upper box is designed in a known form and has a circumferential frame 24 which has an annular channel 16.
- the check valves 17 described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 are inserted therein, via which the interior 26 of the mold 23 is evacuated.
- the annular channels 16 are in a known manner, e.g. via passages 29, with the interior 26 of the mold 23 in connection.
- Supports 27 for supporting the casting mold 23 are arranged on all sides next to the vacuum connections 1.
- the height of this support is selected so that when the casting mold 23 is set down, the valve body 2 of the vacuum connections 1 are moved so far towards the base plate 4 that the valve plate 8 is lifted off the valve seats 9, so that the valve 10 opens.
- bevels 28 are attached, which are inclined towards the vacuum connections 1.
- the bevels 28 serve as a centering when the casting mold 23 is set down. This ensures that the casting mold is centered automatically and the check valves 17 are automatically in the correct position above the sealing surfaces 14. It is thus always guaranteed that the casting mold 23 will be precisely coupled to the vacuum network even if the casting mold 23 is inaccurate.

Abstract
