Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a boom for sailing surfers according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the two jaws act on the mast and press it against a contact surface of the fork piece.
  • The. both. Clamping jaws are under the influence of a clamping device, e.g. an eccentric which can be actuated by means of a hand lever.
  • the purpose of the present invention is now to design and further improve a boom of the type described at the outset in such a way that it is even easier and therefore also cheaper to manufacture and that it is also easier and faster to handle for inexperienced persons.
  • This is achieved by the characterizing features specified in claim 1.
  • the boom is pushed up to the desired height on the mast.
  • the mast is located in the base of the fork piece.
  • the sail is already pulled up on the mast.
  • the mast is guided between the jaws and pressed further until the extended position of the toggle lever has passed.
  • the boom is now clamped to the mast.
  • the clamp connection is released by pushing the toggle lever in the opposite direction.
  • the clamping force can be applied both from the two arms of the boom and from the fork piece.
  • the fork piece suitably consists of tough elastic material.
  • Another option is to divide the fork piece and pull both parts resiliently against each other
  • the toggle lever is secured in its clamping position by a lock in a further development of the invention.
  • the lock comprises a spring-loaded bolt which is mounted in the lever, engages with its free end in the locked state in a recess in the fork piece and has a handle for arbitrarily releasing the lock.
  • the locking device consists of a safety bracket that can only be actuated by hand, which is pivotably mounted on the fork piece, and / or that a clip that can be plugged onto it is provided as a locking device for the toggle lever.
  • a return spring holding it in its ready position is provided for each lever.
  • the clamping jaws on the levers are rotatably mounted about axes running at right angles to their swiveling axes.
  • each jaw can have two T-shaped clamping strips arranged next to one another.
  • the webs of these strips extend in the longitudinal direction of the mast. In this way, an adaptation of the clamping device to different mast diameters is practically not necessary.
  • Fig. 1 is a plan view of the mast-side end of the boom in the state detached from the mast, and
  • Fig. 2 is a plan view corresponding to FIG. 1, but partially cut open for better illustration of details and in the clamped state on the mast.
  • the two arms 1, 2 of a fork tree which is known per se and is therefore not shown in full are connected to one another at their mast-side end via a fork piece 3.
  • a lever 8 or 9 is mounted on axles 6, 7 fastened in bearing eyes 4, 5 of the fork piece.
  • Each lever has a jaw 10 at its free end.
  • the two levers 8, 9 in the ready-to-use state of the boom connected to a mast 11 form a toggle lever, the knee joint of which serves as the mast (see FIG. 2).
  • the fork piece 3 is made of tough elastic material, so that it has an elasticity that allows the extended position of the toggle lever.
  • the boom is first pushed up to the desired height on the mast. Then the mast is guided in the direction of the arrow 14 between the clamping jaws 10 and pushed further until the extended position of the levers 8, 9 serving as low-lever arms has passed. Under the influence of the elastic tree part 3, the clamping device then assumes its position shown in FIG. 2, in which the boom is clamped to the mast.
  • the clamping connections are released by pushing the toggle lever in the opposite direction of arrow 14.
  • a locking of the toggle lever in its clamping position is seen before, which comprises a bolt 15 which is mounted in the lever 8 and is loaded by a spring 16.
  • a bolt 15 which is mounted in the lever 8 and is loaded by a spring 16.
  • In the locked state according to Fi ⁇ . 2 engages the Rie ⁇ el with its free end in a recess 17 of the fork piece 3.
  • Angled portion 18 of the latch 15 serves as a handle for arbitrarily releasing the lock before pressing the toggle lever to release the clamp connection on the mast 11.
  • both levers are each influenced by a return spring 19, so that the levers 8, 9 are held in their ready position according to Fig. 1 when the clamp connection is released.
  • the clamping jaws 10 are rotatably mounted on the levers 8, 9 about axes 20, 21 extending at right angles to their pivot axes 6, 7. In this way, a certain pivoting possibility of the boom relative to the mast 11 can be achieved.
  • each clamping jaw 10 is designed to form two T-shaped clamping strips 22, 23 arranged side by side, the webs of which extend in the longitudinal direction of the mast 11. This provides a simple way of adapting the clamping device to different mast diameters, as is usually the case.
