Definitions
- the present invention relates to devices for transmitting information to a train running on a railway, and, more specifically, the implementation of a loop inducing a high frequency alternating current in the two rails of a railway.
- the loops inducing a current in the rails of a railway track consist of a turn produced by means of a conductive cable placed on the runner of the rails, at least in the parts of the loop parallel to the rails.
- a loop placed at one end of a block block, and forming a rectangle 12 meters long, must induce an alternating current at 35 kHz over a block 500 meters long, such so that at the other end of this block, the amplitude of the short-circuit current is always greater than 100 mA.
- the overall power consumed by such a loop coupled to the railway, infinite ballast is equal to approximately 30 watts, corresponding to the losses, in particular due to the skin effect and to the iron losses.
- the object of the present invention is to reduce the overall power consumption by eliminating losses, so that an alternating current generator of simplified technology can supply the loop.
- the loop consists of two conductive turns, produced by means of a strip of conductive metal fixed on a conductive metal material fixed on a strip of insulating material, the conductive strip being arranged in the parts of the loop which are parallel to the rail, in a plane parallel to the sides of the rail core, and on either side thereof, the insulating strip separating the core from the rail and the conductive strip.
- the two turns are connected in such a way that they are traversed by the same current in the same direction on either side of the core of the same rail.
- a track block is constituted for the alternating current, of a closed circuit comprising the two rows of rails 1 and 2 shunted at each end by a resonant circuit 4.5 tuned on the frequency of the current induced by loop 6.
- the latter is connected to an alternating current generator 7.
- This loop consists of two turns made by means of a strip 8 of conductive material, such as copper, of very small thickness compared to its width, fixed by means of a strip 9 of insulating material, on the one hand and on the other side of the core 10 of the rail, at least in the parts of the loop parallel to a rail.
- the conductive strip 8 is arranged in a plane parallel to the walls of the core 10 of the rail.
- the two turns can be connected in series, so that the current flows in the same direction in each part of the loop.
- the fields generated by the two spinnakers res in the rail virtually cancel out in the core 10 which constitutes the narrowed part of the rail, which makes it possible to reduce the losses in the iron for a nominal current half and the same number of ampere-turns .
- a conductive strip 5 cm wide and 0.2 mm thick was used attached to an insulating strip of the same width, but 18 mm thick, to limit the coupling, source of p er- your iron while staying in the rail head of the jig, so that the wheel of a train traveling on the track does not come shear the loop.
- a current of 4A was circulated. The overall power consumed was approximately 12 watts, which represents a necessary power gain of 60%, and which made it possible to use an alternating current generator of very simple design and inexpensive technology.
- the fixing of the conductive strips 8 on the insulating material, on either side of the rail can be ensured by means of staples, adhesive, etc.
- the assembly, insulating and conductive material can be fixed by insulated tabs, integral with staples hanging on the pad 11 of the rail.

Abstract
