Abstract
We know air-filled frames for cushion, bedroom and water mattress for flotation. But they have the disadvantage of sagging if the air chamber is damaged. The invention is characterized by the use of a sponge material to form the parts (2) of the frame in place of the inflatable air chambers. These parts (2) are constructed so that the frame can be folded into a small volume for transport and storage. In the position of use, the frame forms a tight barrier around the cushion, the chamber or the water mattress (6) which is placed there and cannot collapse. Medical care accessories can be attached to the collapsible cancellous frame using needles or staples, without causing the frame to collapse.
Description

Description Waterproof frame for
Flotation water pillows, water chambers and water mattresses.
The invention relates to a waterproof frame for flotation water cushions, water chambers and water mattresses, which is made of soft PVC material. The side frames are filled with a flexible, soft and resilient foam material.
Waterproof frames made of soft plastic for flotation air/water cushions, water chambers and water mattresses are known, the entire frame consisting of an air-inflatable tube. The task of such frames is to show one or more water chambers inserted in the frame
position and, in the event of a damaged water chamber, to catch the escaping water.
The frames filled with air have the disadvantage that they can be easily damaged and that once the air has escaped the frame no longer does its job; In the field of hospital applications, where these flotation water cushions, water chambers and water mattresses are used particularly frequently, this disadvantage is of particular importance because they are often fitted with needles or clamps
Care material is attached to the frame, which often
damage occurs.
The object of the invention is to provide a frame which can be folded for transport and storage in a small space and which, in use, forms a water barrier which cannot collapse. Furthermore, the longitudinal frame should allow catheters, urine bags and other care material to be attached with safety pins or clamps without endangering the containment of water.
According to the invention, the foldability of the frame is achieved in that the longitudinal frames consist of different frame pieces that are independent of one another and are placed apart from one another by an empty space in such a way that the entire frame can be folded together at the empty spaces, but that in the unfolded state of the frame, the empty gaps do not coincide, thereby ensuring water containment.
The permanent containment of water and the possibility of needles and clamps being inserted and pierced is achieved according to the invention in that the longitudinal frames can never collapse thanks to the elastic filling material. The cross frames are made from the same soft plastic material as the entire frame structure. They consist of a flap that rests on the upper surface of the water chambers. This ensures foldability and water containment. In order to increase the stability of the cross frame, a piece of foam rubber can be inserted under each of the plastic covers.
The filling material of the two longitudinal frames is preferably made of open-cell rubber or plastic foam.
In the following an embodiment of the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. 1 shows the unfolded frame, FIG. 2 shows a section through the longitudinal axis of the transverse frame, FIG. 3 shows a section through the longitudinal axis of the lateral frame, flight. 4 the spread out border with inlaid water chambers.
The drawings show how the frame can be folded together thanks to the distances 1 between the individual frame ridges 2, but without these points in the unfolded state of the
frame break the water containment 3. The side
Frame parts are held in their assigned position by the snug covering of soft plastic material, which is guaranteed by a weld seam 4.
