Description

The invention relates to a contact spring according to the preamble of claim 1.

Eine derartige Kontaktfeder Ist aus der DE-B-26 07 693 bekannt.Such a contact spring is known from DE-B-26 07 693.

In order to ensure a secure fit of the contact spring in the cavity of a contact spring strip with this contact spring, it is necessary to dimension the U-leg of the base part relatively long. This contact spring is therefore less suitable for a connection technique in which the distances between the individual conductors of a ribbon cable are relatively small.

Object of the present invention is therefore to develop a contact spring of the type mentioned in such a way that it can still be operated reliably in the cavity of a contact spring strip with a simple construction, even if the contact grid between the individual contact springs of the strip 'only allows relatively small distances.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by an embodiment of such a contact spring corresponding to the characterizing features of claim 1.

This design of the contact spring ensures, despite the relatively shorter design of the U-legs, a safe transmission of the forces which occur when contacting a ribbon cable cell parent to the contact spring strip, because in particular the part of the rigid plate lying outside the projection of the resilient contact spring leg is uncomplicated and corresponds to this part of the area Dimensioned pocket of the contact spring strip can be inserted and thereby a stable positive connection between the contact spring and the strip housing is made possible, while at the free end of the other part of the rigid plate interacting with the resilient contact spring leg, a section suitable for contacting with a contact pin or contact knife can be created .

Although it is already known from DE-A-28 19868, in particular from FIG. 2, and 9 to 12, in the case of a contact spring, a contact spring leg protruding from a U-leg of the contact spring as a rigid plate with a length of the U- Form leg corresponding width and provide a resilient contact spring leg protruding from the other U-leg with a width which is approximately half the width of the rigid plate, and in which the resilient contact spring leg is arranged approximately centrally to the rigid plate.

However, no measures are provided in this known contact spring that make the rigid plate particularly suitable for insertion into a contact spring housing on the one hand, and particularly suitable for cooperation with the resilient contact spring leg on the other hand.

Weitere Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung ergeben sich aus den Merkmalen der Unteransprüche 2 und 3,Further refinements of the invention result from the features of subclaims 2 and 3,

In this way, the portion of the rigid plate that can be inserted into the pocket of the strip housing is held in the pocket, since the wart-like projections press into the plastic mass of the strip housing, but the impressions caused by the projections when inserted are in the area that is only covered by these projections at least partially back again, so that the projections lock themselves automatically in the strip housing,

The transverse offset of the contact slot relative to the contacting gap of the contact spring makes it possible to realize a rectangular contact grid on the side of the contact spring leg contacts, because if one z. B, the degree of dislocation is equal to a quarter of the grid spacing of this contact grid, and the contact springs are arranged in two rows with contact spring legs interchanged in one row with the contact springs of the other row, the contact spring strip of course having to be designed in such a way that it accommodates the partial area of the Rigid plate provided housing-side pockets are each in the right place, the contact slots of corresponding contact springs of the peiden rows are shifted by one quarter of the pitch on one side and one quarter of the pitch on the other side of the other contact spring, so that in the case of a ribbon cable with individual conductors lying next to one another at half the grid spacing of the contact spring contacts formed by the contact spring legs of the contact springs, only a single conductor is detected by a contact slot of a contact spring.

An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to three figures. Here, each greatly enlarged, the
  • Figures 1 and 2, the contact spring in side view, once with a direction of view transverse to the U-legs of the base part and once with a direction of view parallel to these and
  • Figure 3 is a view from above of a contact spring inserted into a plastic contact spring strip with a strip housing shown in section.

In particular, it can be seen from the figures that the contact spring made of flat material has a U-shaped base part 2, the U-legs 30, 31 of which are perpendicular to the direction of insertion of a contact knife or contact pin which is to be connected to the contact spring, are directed.

The two U-legs 30, 31 of the base part 2 are of unequal length and the longer U-leg 30 goes in the insertion direction of a contact knife or contact pin into a rigid one Plate 3a formed contact spring leg, the width of which corresponds to the length of the U-leg 30. In order to be able to design the rigid plate 3 a completely flat, regardless of the U-leg 30 that runs curved during the transition into the cross-piece 41 of the base part 2, and the plate extends over the entire width, which is determined by the length of the U-leg 30 , a free cut 35 is provided between the base part 2 and the plate 3a, which separates the curved region of the U-leg 30 from the plate 3a.

Contrary to the plate 3a, the U-leg 30 has two contact cutting edges 16, which delimit a contact slot 17 between them, into which a wire-shaped conductor with a course directed transversely to the slot 17 can be pressed. The contact cutting edges 16 spring against the conductor and connect it to the contact spring. The crosspiece 41 of the base part 2 is wider on the side of the pair of contact cutting edges 16, that is to say on the side facing away from the contact springs, than the shorter U-leg 31. With this widened crosspiece 41, the contact spring can be inserted in the direction of insertion Contact spring cavity closing cover are supported, which is connected to the contact spring bar after inserting the contact springs.

The other shorter U-leg 31 of the base part 2 is in one piece with a spring-elastic contact spring leg 3b, the width of which is less than half the width of the plate 3a. In addition, the contact spring leg 3b is arranged approximately centrally to the plate 3a.

At its free end 32, the contact spring arm 3b has a shoulder 34 which widens the contact spring arm 3b on one side and runs opposite to the U-leg 31, but does not extend to the edge of the rigid plate 3a.

In this way, on the side of the contact spring leg 3b facing away from shoulder 34, a partial region 38 of the plate 3a protrudes laterally beyond this contact spring leg. This on the plate 3a Lie g border outside the projection of the contact spring leg 3b portion of the plate 3a is of the plate 3a of the plate 3 separated at the free end 36 through an incision 37 of a side opposite to the projection 34 of the contact spring leg 3b subregion. 39 In this way, the free end 36 of the portion 39 can be bent towards the free end 32 of the contact spring leg 3b and therefore together with this also curved free end 32 form the contact spring contact 4 in the for the purpose of establishing an electrical connection between a contact knife or contact pin and the contact spring the contact knife or the contact pin is inserted.

The incision 37 also makes it possible to let the partial area 38 of the contact spring handle 3a run completely flat, so that it can be inserted into a suitably adapted housing pocket (FIG. 3) 42 of the contact spring strip 43. The wart-like projections 40 provided in the partial area 38 press into the plastic mass of the strip 43 and thus fix the contact spring inserted into the strip housing, so that it cannot fall out of the housing again. The pocket 42 is closed at the top, i.e. in FIG. 3 towards the viewer, so that when the contact spring is inserted into an associated cavity of the contact spring strip with the contact spring legs 3a and 3b in advance, a stop is formed which forms the The insertion depth of the contact spring is limited in the opposite direction to the plug-in direction of a contact knife or carbon pin and thereby also supports the contact spring when a single conductor is pressed into the contact slot 17. In addition, since the resilient contact spring leg 3b does not protrude as far as the rigid plate 3a, the resilient leg 3b always remains movable, in other words, digging the free end 32 of the resilient leg 3b into the plastic mass of the contact spring strip is thereby reliably prevented .

A pocket wall 44 (FIG. 3) provided to form the pocket 42 between the rigid plate 3a and the resilient leg 3b advantageously also serves for pre-centering and pre-opening the contact spring leg 3b, which is supported on this wall 44. In this way, the force required for inserting a contact knife or contact pin is reduced and the risk of rear insertion, that is to say the missing space between rigid plate 3a and contact spring leg 3b, is substantially reduced by a contact knife or a contact pin.

As shown in FIG. 3 in particular, the U-shaped base part, together with the contact spring leg 3a designed as a rigid plate, forms a rigid part of the contact spring which is surrounded by walls of the strip housing and which fully guarantees the reliable position of the contact spring in the cavity of the strip housing 43 facing it.

From Fig. 1 it can be seen that the contact slot 17 for receiving a single conductor with respect to the spring portion 3b formed by the portion 39 and the contact spring contact 4 is transversely offset. This transverse offset, the z. B. is a quarter of the grid spacing of the contact pins or contact knives from each other, which are to be connected to the contact springs of the strip, makes it possible for a single conductor of a ribbon cable to be detected by only one contact slot 17, that is to say only by one contact spring, if, in the case of a two-row arrangement of the contact springs in the strip housing, the contact springs of one row with contact spring legs exchanged with respect to the contact springs of the other row are not 3a, 3b arranges, the cavities for receiving the contact springs must of course be designed in a corresponding manner.

Claims (3)

1. A contact spring for a flat cable connection comprising a U-shaped base part (2) and two contact spring arms (3a, 3b) which project at right angles from the arms of the U (30, 31) of the base part and together form a contact spring contact (4) for a contact pin or contact blade, and which can be inserted into a channel-like cavity of a contact spring strip with the base part being arranged transversely to the course of the cavity with the contact spring arms leading ; and having a pair of contact blades (16) which project from one of the two arms of the U of the base part in opposition to the course of the contact spring arms and which protrude from the contact spring strip and form a cutting clamping contact for a wire-form conductor, characterised in that the arms of the U (30, 31) of the base part (2) are so dimensioned as to have different lengths ; that the contact spring arm which protrudes from the longer arm (30) of the U is formed as a rigid plate (3a) having a width which corresponds to the length of the arm (30) of the U ; and that the springy contact spring arm (3b which projects from the shorter arm (31) of the U has a width which is less than half the width of the rigid plate (3a) ; that, furthermore, the springy contact spring arm (3b) is arranged approximately centrally with respect to the rigid plate (3a), and at its free end (32) is provided with an attachment (34) which is directed away from the free end (33) of the arm of the U (30, 31 but set back in relation to the edge of the rigid plate (3a), and which widens the contact spring arm (3b) at one side ; and that at its free end (36), the rigid plate (3a) has an incision (37) separating a flat part-region (38), which essentially lies outside the projection of the springy contact spring arm (3b) on to the rigid plate (3a), and another part-region (39) which cooperates with the springy contact spring arm (3b) and is bent in towards the latter at its end.
2. A contact spring according to Claim 1, characterised in that the flat part-region (38) of the rigid plate is provided with wart-like projections (40).
3. A contact spring according to Claim 1, characterised in that the contact slot (17) which is bounded by the contact blades (16) and forms the cutting clamping contact is transversely displaced with respect to the contact spring contact (4) formed by the contact spring arms (3a, 3b).
