Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of textile webs, in particular knitwear, on finishing machines, in which certain areas of the web which are sensitive to heat are cooled down so much before the heat treatment that the heat treatment only results in a temperature that is not harmful to the web reheat. This cooling of the textile web is done, for example, with liquid nitrogen, which is sprayed onto the areas of the goods which are to be protected from excessive heat and / or steam.
Description
The invention relates to a method for the heat treatment of textile webs, in particular knitted goods, on finishing machines.
In the treatment of textile webs when passing through finishing machines, the webs are heated by the action of steam and / or temperature. In cases where, for example, knitwear that is provided with ribbed edges is treated in this way, the elasticity and bounce of such edges suffer from the action of heat, especially when the knitwear or its ribbed edges are made of fibers with a low melting point, such as for example acrylic or acrylic mixtures.
To avoid this disadvantageous change in the properties of the fibers in the area of the rib edges, it is already known to use mechanical covers in the form of cover materials or plates on tenter frames or other assembly line systems. However, such mechanical covers are relatively complex and expensive, and thus complicate both the machine construction and its operation.
The object of the invention is therefore to protect certain areas of textile webs from To effect steam and heat in their treatment on equipment machines in a considerably cheaper way and in this connection to design the method so that mechanical protective elements can be dispensed with with this protective effect against steam and heat.
This object is achieved in an advantageous manner in that the textile web is cooled to a temperature in the areas in which it is to be protected from excessive heat and / or steam during the heat treatment by the action of a refrigerant and / or coolant is chosen so deep that the web only warms up again during the subsequent heat treatment to the temperature that is harmless to the textile web.
By cooling those areas of the textile webs that are particularly sensitive to temperature, such as the ribbed edges of knitwear, it is avoided that these areas heat up so much during the subsequent heat treatment that the previously observed adverse changes in the properties of the fibers occur .
For this purpose, according to an advantageous embodiment of the method according to the invention, the cooling of the material web can be carried out so intensively that the material web is frozen to a certain extent in the area mentioned. This freezing can be carried out according to a further advantageous process variant with liquid nitrogen that is sprayed onto the above-mentioned areas of the web. Instead of this refrigerant, however, all other suitable coolants and refrigerants of gaseous and / or liquid type can also be used if they bring about the desired lowering of the temperature of the web in the desired time and do not adversely affect the web chemically.
In the subclaims, further advantageous refinements of the method according to the invention, which can also be used in all areas of heat treatment, are characterized.
The inventive method is explained in detail using a drawing figure showing a plan view of a knitting fabric web consisting of in.Bahnlän g srichtung arranged behind one another and secured together knitted fabric body parts, which are each provided with a ribbed edge.
The spraying or spraying on of the liquid nitrogen, which could also be replaced by another suitable refrigerant or coolant of liquid or gaseous type, is carried out using devices known per se in such a way that essentially only the rib edge alone is strongly cooled in the manner described. However, there is no abrupt temperature gradient between the knitwear areas adjacent to the rib edges and the rib edges themselves, but a gradual temperature transition, the extent of which is a question of the accuracy of the dosage of the liquid nitrogen, which can be controlled by known means.
Such a "cold treatment" of areas of the knitwear web can also be repeated several times within the entire treatment process if this should be necessary to protect heat-sensitive knitwear areas.
