Abstract

1. A process for burning loosely stored straw supplied in the form of bales using a continuously charged burning apparatus, for heating purposes, said straw being compacted and pushed into the burning furnace in a direction of compaction, where it is ignited at the free inlet end, characterized in that a portion is cut off from the straw supplied in the form of bales before burning and each portion is compacted in two planes at a right angle to each other.
