Description

The invention relates to a device for draining floor areas, in particular for draining sandy floor areas such as tennis courts, sand tracks and the like. with a suction element, which is connected to a water separator and a pump via a suction line.

Such a device is described for example in GB-PS 1 033 500. It consists of a perforated, hollow metal roller, which is mounted on a chassis and can be rolled on the surface to be drained. This undercarriage carries a water tank which is connected on the one hand to a suction pump and on the other hand to a suction nozzle arranged on the floor inside the metal roller and directly above its plant area. The water penetrating through the perforations into the metal roller during operation is captured by the suction nozzle and conveyed into the water tank.

However, such a device has only a very limited area of application. It can only be used for the drainage of soils that are either solid Show surface or that are overgrown with grass. This is because, for example, with sandy water, soil components penetrate into the roller with the water, are gripped by the suction nozzle and are conveyed into the water tank. This is exacerbated by the fact that the air speed in the nozzle must be relatively high.

For the drainage of sandy floor surfaces, it has also become known to use rollers covered with a sponge, the water absorbed by the sponge being expressed into a trough by a squeeze roller arranged at the rear of the roller in relation to the direction of travel. Here too, however, it can be seen that the sand adhering to the surface of the sponge roller and removed from the floor is also conveyed into the collecting trough. This is particularly a serious disadvantage because precisely those surface areas of the floor where puddles of water remain due to depressions are always removed with further layers of sand during drainage.

The invention was therefore based on the object to improve a device of the type mentioned in such a way that rapid drainage is possible regardless of the surface quality of the floors without removing material from the floor.

According to the invention it is provided that the suction element has a filter covering the suction opening.

This measure does not prevent sand or soil particles from entering the suction line by holding the sand particles to a filter layer, but rather enables the suction opening to be enlarged and thus the suction speed of the air or water to drop below that value. where the sand particles are carried away. The use of a filter layer, the Filter openings are smaller than the particle sizes would not be possible because such a filter layer would be installed very quickly.

It has proven to be particularly advantageous if an open-pore, elastic foam is used as the filter, the specific weight of which is preferably in a range from 20 to 40 kg / m. This foam enables particularly effective drainage using a very large suction opening.

For larger, puddle-like water surfaces, it is advantageous if the suction element has a bowl-shaped hollow body which communicates with the suction line and whose open surface facing the bottom is closed by a foam sheet forming the filter.

It is favorable if the bowl-shaped hollow body is supported on the floor via spacer feet. For large floor areas with relatively thin water layers, the suction element has, as is known per se, a cylindrical, perforated roller, the jacket of which is covered with an open-pore foam layer.

Hiebei is advantageously provided if the roller is supported on the floor by means of wheels arranged on both sides, the foam layer in the support area on the floor being compressed by a predetermined amount.

For a particularly effective drainage it is provided that a squeeze roller compressing the foam layer is arranged on the area of the roller opposite the support area, and that a collecting trough communicating with the suction line is arranged within the roller. Furthermore, it is advantageous if the inside of the roll shell is provided with axially extending driver blades.

In order to ensure continuous operation, it is advantageous if the suction line can be alternately connected to the bottom connections of two collecting tanks as water separators via a first valve, the valve connecting the respective free bottom connection to a pump-off line, and that a valve that is coupled to the first valve second valve alternately connects a further connection of the collecting tanks with the supply air and exhaust air connection of the air pump.

The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of exemplary embodiments, without any restrictive meaning.

Fig. 1 shows the cross section of a first embodiment of the suction element, for floor areas covered with deeper puddles of water, Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of the suction element for large floor areas and Fig. 3 is a diagram of the entire device.

In Fig. 1, a suction element 1 is shown, which is particularly suitable for the drainage of sandy bottom surfaces covered with relatively deep puddles, such as tennis courts, sand tracks and the like. is suitable. It consists of a bowl-shaped hollow body 4, to the top of which a suction line 2 is connected. The hollow body 4 is supported on the floor by spacer feet, and its open surface facing the floor is closed by an elastic, open-pore foam sheet 3. If the suction line 2 is now connected to the suction connection of an air pump, the water 22 on the floor penetrates into the foam plate and rises in it until it is entrained in the suction line 2 due to the high air speed. However, the rate of penetration of the water 22 into the foam sheet is not so great that soil particles are carried along or flushed with it. Particles already suspended in water are also in the foam plate 3 discontinued. The interaction of the capillary force of the filter layer 3 with the negative pressure in the bowl-shaped body 4 is therefore essential for the effect according to the invention.

In der Fig. 2 ist eine Ausführungsform des erfindungsgemäßen Saugelementes 1 dargestellt, welche insbesondere zur Entwässerung von großen, mit relativ dünnen Wasserschichten bedeckten Bodenflächen geeignet ist.FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the suction element 1 according to the invention, which is particularly suitable for draining large floor areas covered with relatively thin layers of water.

The suction element 1 consists of a cylindrical roller 6, the jacket of which is provided with through openings 7 for the water and is covered with an open-pore, elastic foam layer 3. A squeeze roller 9 is arranged on the top of the roller and compresses the foam layer 3. In the interior of the roller 6, a collecting trough 10 is provided below the pinch roller and communicates with a suction line 2 running coaxially with the roller 6. Furthermore, the inside of the jacket of the cylindrical roller 6 is provided with axially extending driver blades 11, which are arranged in pairs that diverge radially inwards. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the roller 6 is also supported on the floor by way of impellers 8 arranged on both sides, so that the foam layer in the support area on the floor is compressed by a predetermined amount.

During operation, negative pressure prevails in the interior of the roller 6 due to the connection to the suction line 2. The roller is rolled on the floor and the water on it penetrates into the foam layer in the support area. Due to the capillary action of the foam 3 and the reduced internal pressure, the water is transported to the squeeze roller 9, is pressed there through the through openings 7 and runs into the collecting trough 10.

Already in the support area or a little later in the interior Urgent water is also conveyed by the driving scoops 11 up to the collecting trough 10 and discharged into it. Due to the paired arrangement of the driver blades, the roller 6 can be used for drainage in any direction by means of the handle 12.

Das spezifische Gewicht des Schaumstoffes beträgt vorteilhaft etwa 20 - 40 kg/m 3.In order to prevent the sand from being displaced by transport on the surface of the foam rubber layer 3 during dewatering, it has proven to be advantageous if the diameter of the roller is greater than approximately 300 mm. Furthermore, favorable values for the thickness of the foam layer are about 40 mm, while the pressure in the area of the system should be about 15 mm. The specific weight of the foam is advantageously about 2 0 - 4 0 k g / m 3 .

Is shown in Fig. 3 is a scheme of the device according to the invention, wherein the suction element 1 is connected via a suction pipe 2 with a 'pumping means 14 which enables a continuous drainage of large floor surfaces. This pump device can be designed as a mobile, mobile device. However, it is also possible to arrange the pump device 14 in a stationary manner and to install suction lines on the places to be drained, which could then be coupled to the suction elements 1.

The pump device 14 has two collecting tanks 18 and 19 as water separators. Each of the collecting tanks is provided with its own connection 16 and 17 and can be switched alternately to the suction line 2 and to a pumping hose 20 via a multi-way valve 15. The collecting tanks 18 and 19 can alternately be connected to the supply air and exhaust air connection of an air pump 24 via a second multi-way valve 21. The two valves 15 and 21 are actuated by a time control device 23. In operation, the timing device 23 controls the two valves 15 and 21 for a predetermined time in the position shown, so that the suction line 2 touches the floor circuit 16 of the water tank 18 is connected. On the other hand, this water tank '18 is connected to the suction connection of the air pump 24. The water contained in the air flowing through the suction line 2 is deposited in the collecting tank 18. At the same time, the pressure connection of the air pump 24 is connected to the water tank 19, while the bottom connection 17 of this water tank is connected to the pumping line 20 via the valve 15. As a result, the water contained in the collecting tank 19 is pressed into the pumping line 20. After the predetermined time, the time control device 23 switches over the two valves 15 and 21, so that the collecting tank 19 is now filled with water while the collecting tank 18 is emptied. The pump device 14 according to the invention can therefore find its end with relatively small water tanks.

It is readily apparent that a large number of possible modifications are still conceivable within the scope of the invention.
