Ein Transporthubwagen dieser Art ist aus der DE-AS 27 25 123 bekannt. Der Konverter ruht bei diesem bekannten Transporthubwagen auf einer mit einem oberen Drehrahmen verbundenen Platte auf; das Heben bzw. Senken erfolgt in mehreren Schritten, wobei jeweils Sperrmittel, z.B. hydraulische Zylinder, vorgesehen sind, um den Konverter zwischen den Verstellschritten in bestimmter Höhe zu halten. Im Hubrahmen 8 ist eine Anzahl weiterer hydraulischer Druckmittelzylinder 14 angeordnet, u.zw. mit der Zylinderseite an dem Hubrahmen befestigt, wogegen die Kolben 15 nach oben ausschiebbar sind. Auf den Kolbenenden stützen sich die Pratzen 16 des Konverters 17 ab. Der Konverter 17, der Drehrahmen 12 und der Hubrahmen 8 bleiben in Ruhestellung. Dann werden durch Betätigung des Drehwerks 18 der Fahrrahmen 1 mit dem Hubrahmen 8 und dem Konverter 17 in die neue Fahrtrichtung gedreht, und durch Betätigung des Zylinders 5 in Gegenrichtung die Räder auf das andere Gleis der Kreuzung abgesenkt, wobei der Drehrahmen 12 vom Boden wieder um ein Stück abgehoben wird.
