Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing low-resistance wire resistors, in particular high-load resistors.
- low-resistance resistors were primarily used as so-called shunt resistors for measurement purposes.
- Electronic circuits comprising electron tubes rarely require resistances below 10 ohms due to the relatively high voltage level. Only when the transistors appeared did the use of low-resistance resistors become important. Initially a value of 500 milliohms was the lowest limit, there has recently been a demand for resistance in the Of the order of 10 milliohms.
- Such low-ohm resistors e.g. used in car electronics must also be heavy-duty and electrically stable.
- creating a low-resistance resistor is not a technical problem.
- a relatively low resistance wire can be used, which is wound on an insulating body.
- such a resistor is relatively bulky.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method for producing a low-ohm resistor, in particular a high-load resistor, which is suitable for series production and ensures the desired resistance accuracy without costly measurement.
- This object is achieved in that resistance band material is cut in predetermined sections and the Contact wires are butt welded against the sections at a predetermined distance from one another.
- the resistance value is dependent on the length, regardless of the cross-sectional shape - assuming a uniform cross-section over the length.
- a section cut precisely from the strip material therefore represents a predetermined resistance value. If such a section is now contacted at two points spaced apart from one another, a specific, i.e. tightly tolerated, resistance value between the contact points
- the sections are first bent at the ends and the contact wires are butt-welded from the outside against the bent end sections.
- the bends it is conceivable to choose the bends as desired, a deformation by which U-shaped resistance elements are formed is preferred. Such a shape is particularly favorable for processing in the welding machine.
- the resistance tape material can have any cross section. It is particularly advantageous if, according to one embodiment of the invention, flat tape is used as the resistance material. For example, 20 mm sections can be cut from the tape using a precision punch. With this, a length tolerance of ⁇ 5/100 mm can be maintained, which corresponds to a length tolerance of 2.5% o. If this length corresponds to a resistance value of 40 milliohms, for example, the maximum deviation is 0.10 milliohms. This is a factor that is of the order of magnitude 20 more accurate than is usually required.
- the resistors where the contact wires with the vice bent end sections are welded are mainly suitable for the axial version.
- the contact wires are preferably butt-welded transversely to the longitudinal axis to a straight resistance strip.
- the distance between the contact points determines the value of the resistance.
- the resistance element is arranged in a ceramic housing.
- ceramic housings are known in principle.
- the resistance element is inserted into a central hole in the ceramic housing, the spaces being filled with quartz.
- the resistor according to the invention is not only suitable for mass production and is characterized by great accuracy, but also enables a long service life. After all, he can handle high loads. These can be larger than 1 W / cm2. Finally, the manufacturing effort is extremely low despite the high accuracy.
- the resistor 10 shown in FIG. 1 is formed from a section which is cut off from a flat strip of suitable resistance material and bent at the ends at 11 and 12, respectively.
- the bent legs 11, 12 are arranged approximately at right angles to the intermediate web 13.
- a U-shaped resistance element is formed with the same cross-section over the entire length, which is rectangular in the present case.
- the bent sections 11, 12 contact wires 14 and 15 are connected, which are butt welded to the outside.
- the diameter of the wires 14, 15 corresponds approximately to the thickness of the resistance element 10.
- the contact wires 14, 15 lie on an axis, this axis running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the web 13. The distance between the axes of the contact wires 14, 15 to the free ends of the bent
- Sections 11, 12, denoted by a in FIG. 1, can be precisely defined, so that the length of the resistance element 10 between the contact points is defined and thus also the resistance value.
- the U-shaped curved shape of the resistance element 10 enables particularly simple guidance in the magazine of a precision welding machine and, at the same time, the problem-free butt welding of the contact wires 14, 15 against the bent-over sections 11, 12, so that reproducibly high accuracies can also be achieved with a mass position and high production output.
- Fig. 2 shows a so-called radial version of a resistor with a straight strip 16 with a rectangular cross-section made of a suitable resistor material, which is made in flat ribbon form.
- the strip 16 is in turn suitably stored in a magazine and guided, so that connecting sections 17, 18 can be butt-welded against the strip 16 at a predetermined distance 1 from one side. The distance in turn determines the value of the resistance, since the contact point essentially coincides with the contact surface of the connecting sections 17, 18.
- connecting wires can again be used, as shown in FIG. 1.
- Fig. 3 shows the resistance element 10 within the middle Bore 19 of a ceramic housing 20 known per se.
- the introduction into the ceramic housing takes place for insulation purposes, wherein the spaces which are not filled within the bore 19 can be filled with quartz sand. Otherwise, the resistance element 10 is fixed within the ceramic housing 20 in a conventional manner.

Abstract
