Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for the pyrolysis of waste materials, with a tubular smoldering reactor in which the waste materials are pyrolyzed during a movement from an entry end to a discharge end thereof, and with a flue gas duct, which the tubular smoldering reactor as a over the length of Surrounds a carbon cylindrical zone, the inner wall of which is formed by the jacket of the smoldering reactor, and in which hot flue gases generated in the region of the discharge-side end of the flue gas duct are guided in counterflow to the waste materials to the end of the flue gas. Furthermore, the invention relates to a process for the pyrolysis of waste materials, in which the waste materials are passed through a carbonization zone and are indirectly heated by hot flue gases which are conducted in counterflow.
- Such a device and such a method are known (DE-OS 25 20 754). Thereafter, the waste materials are fed into a reactor tube, the electric heating to its B over substantially away is surrounded by a smooth ring-cylindrical flue gas channel, the entire length of charring. Flue gases are generated by burners in a heating chamber provided at the outlet end of the reactor tube and enter the flue gas duct from this at a rate corresponding to their generation rate. Apart from the heating chamber areas, where turbulence is still present due to the burner flames, the flow of the flue gases is largely laminar due to the smooth design of the flue gas channel.
- the object of the invention is therefore to design a device and a method of the type mentioned with simple means so that there is a good and uniform heat transfer from the flue gases to the reactor jacket or the carbonization material over the entire length of the carbonization zone.
- the flow obstacles in the annular cylindrical space are arranged to distribute the flue gases evenly around the pipe. This can prevent the reactor tube from being heated more strongly in one peripheral region than in another, which would have the consequence that it deforms and possibly affects the conveyor elements, such as screws or the like, present in the reactor tube.
- the flow obstacles are sheets or plates welded to the jacket of the smoldering reactor. This results in an enlargement of the surface of the reactor jacket or reactor tube and thus of the heat exchange surface. This results in an inverse cooling fin effect.
- the sheets or plates are preferably arranged in the planes containing the axis of the annular cylindrical chamber. Such sheets are particularly suitable both to increase the heat exchange area and to serve as baffles and to distribute the hot flue gases evenly around the reactor tube and at the same time to provide turbulence by tearing off the flow at their end edges.
- the sheets or plates are arranged enclosing an angle to the axis of the annular cylindrical chamber, wherein if the desired flow requires, the sheets can preferably also be arranged in planes perpendicular to the axis of the annular space.
- a uniform distribution of the hot flue gases around the reactor tube usually results if the sheets or plates are at equal angular intervals are distributed around the annulus axis.
- the sheets or plates not only act as flow baffles and distributors for the flue gases and not only serve to increase the heat exchange area, but also have the function of radiation converters.
- the hot flue gases flow towards them, they essentially heat up to their temperature and, as gray emitters, emit the heat to a far greater extent than the largely transparent flue gases, also in the form of radiation.
- a device for circulating the flue gases at a high flow rate is provided according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
- the object set out above is achieved according to the invention in that the flow of the hot flue gases is guided in a turbulent manner over the entire carbonization zone. For the reasons already mentioned above, this results in better and more uniform heating of the reactor jacket and thus of the waste materials over the entire carbonization zone.
- the hot flue gases are forced circulated. This results in a high flue gas g eschwin- speed, which further improves the heat transfer.
- FIG. 1 shows a highly schematic representation of a reactor tube 1, which is surrounded in the charring zone for the waste material by an annular cylindrical space 3, which is concentric with the reactor tube, as a flue gas duct.
- the outer wall of the annular space has been partially omitted from the illustration to reproduce the internals located in it.
- the annular space which is actually continuous is shown interrupted in the axial direction (likewise the reactor tube), different types of internals being shown in the individual sections. In the case of a specific embodiment, these internals can be present side by side, but the figure is also and in particular to be understood in such a way that three different types of internals, which are actually present alone, are combined side by side.
- the steel tube 1 moves lumpy waste from the outside by means of a pallet screw 2, which extends inside the reactor tube 1 from the inlet-side to the outlet-side end of the same (in the area of on the left end, the wall of the reactor is partially omitted in the illustration, so that the pallet screw can be seen inside the tube).
- a pallet screw 2 which extends inside the reactor tube 1 from the inlet-side to the outlet-side end of the same (in the area of on the left end, the wall of the reactor is partially omitted in the illustration, so that the pallet screw can be seen inside the tube).
- hot flue gases flow through in the annular space 3, the walls of which are formed by the reactor tube 1 and a tube, which is also made of steel and is also concentric and has a larger diameter than the reactor tube 1.
- the hot flue gases are generated by burners (not shown) which are located in the region of the discharge end of the reactor tube.
- the ring-cylindrical flue gas duct 3 there are internals standing in the flue gas path, which are formed by sheets or plates 4 welded onto the outside of the reactor tube 1, which extend in the reactor axes containing radial planes to the outer flue gas duct wall and in the axial direction across the charring zone in Are spaced from each other.
- the tin or Plates are distributed at equal angular intervals around the reactor tube 1 in order to achieve an even distribution of the flue gases around the reactor tube.
- sheets or plates 5 are shown in the figure, which are slightly curved and are arranged in the manner of a turbine blade, including an angle with the flue gas duct axis, and plates or plates 6 which are perpendicular to the flue gas duct axis.
- These sheets are primarily to be understood as alternative arrangements to the sheets 4 and are only drawn in the same figure for the sake of simplicity; they are provided in the sole presence, like the axial sheets 4, over the entire area of the charring zone.
- sheets 5 and / or 6 in a suitable manner in the direction of the axis of the annular space 3 together with the sheets 4 if certain initial conditions of the flue gas flow or the like make this appear expedient.
- only sheets 5 and 6 could be used without the sheets 4 aligned in the longitudinal direction.
- the sheets or plates 5 and 6 are also welded onto the outer surface of the reactor tube 1 and extend into the region of the outer wall of the annular space 3.
- the sheets 4, 5 and 6 not only maintain turbulent flow conditions over the entire length of the charring zone, they not only distribute the flue gases evenly and increase the heat exchange area, they also act as radiation needles. In contrast to the only slightly radiating flue gases, they represent good heat radiators as gray bodies, so that, when heated to the temperature of the surrounding flue gases, they also give off their heat in the form of radiation to the reactor tube.
- the sheets or plates with their dimensions running along the reactor tube are considerably smaller than the circumference of the reactor tube and are therefore easy to attach. With them, the heat transfer to the reactor tube in a flue gas duct, the walls of which are essentially two concentric tubes, results in equally good conditions as would otherwise have to be attempted by complicated guidance of the flue gas duct around the reactor tube.
- the flue gases are forcedly circulated by a blower (not shown) at an increased speed, which further improves and equalizes the heat transfer.
- water cooling 12 is provided around the reactor tube 1 in order to keep the reactor tube cold at the waste entry.

Abstract
