Description

The invention relates to a cleaning device, preferably in the form of a hand-held device, with a vibratingly driven cleaning body, the vibrations of which can be transmitted by a drive system which is formed from a drive motor arranged in a housing and a flywheel rotatably driven by the latter as a vibration exciter.

Compared to those numerous known devices in which the drive of the cleaning body directly with a mechanical drive system, for. B. with a gear or crank mechanism, the transmission of the drive movement to the cleaning body by means of a vibrating mass niche only requires a lower drive power, but is also easy to manufacture and practically maintenance-free.

A device of the type mentioned in the introduction is described, for example, in US Pat. No. 3,139,101 for cleaning surfaces. This has a housing in which a drive motor with a flywheel attached to the shaft thereof is arranged. The shaft of the drive motor is designed to be flexible, so that the flywheel arranged on it deviates from its axial line of symmetry as a result of the centrifugal force and thereby engages a limited circular chamber of the cleaning body, exerting a circular mechanical drive movement thereon. The cleaning body is suspended by means of two spring members on the housing of the drive motor; the drive motor itself is fixed to the device housing. A major disadvantage of this construction is the fact that the fixed connection of the vibration-generating drive motor to the housing also transmits vibrations to the housing, so that not only the intensity of the vibrations to be transmitted to the cleaning body is reduced, but also unpleasant handling the result of the vibrating action of the device.

On the other hand, in the known invention according to DE-B-1 628 800, only the mass of the rotating drive motor is used as a vibration exciter, by means of which an oscillating cleaning movement can be transferred to the cleaning body. For this purpose, the drive motor is resiliently supported at one end in the device housing, while this has an opposite drive shaft to which a crank disk is attached. The other side of the drive motor is mounted so that it can be rotated in an eccentric manner by means of a shaft stub fastened centrally in the crank disk and arranged in a swivel bearing. The pivot bearing is arranged on the upper free end of a bracket, which is connected at the lower end via a base to the housing and the tool holder for holding the machining body. The tool holder to be produced from a slightly elastic, thin material has a similar task to that of the spring members in the aforementioned example, namely to vibrate freely in resonance with the fundamental frequency of the energy source.

The disadvantages of this construction are similar to those of the first-mentioned embodiment, since here again a vibration-transmitting part - in this case the tool holder - is firmly connected to the device housing and therefore vibrations are diverted to it.

In order to achieve a satisfactory cleaning result with devices of this type, it is known that it is necessary to guide the device with a more or less contact pressure over the object to be cleaned. This working pressure is not only dependent on the degree of contamination of the object, but can also depend on whether it is cleaned, polished or any other processing, e.g. B. is subjected to a lube paper. The known devices cited have, apart from the various designs with which the vibrations are generated, a further significant disadvantage, which is that the machining body can be driven with the vibration-generating drive system via elastic connecting elements. It is thereby possible that, as a result of the working pressure exerted on the machining body, the vibrations generated by the oscillating mass are absorbed by the elastic connections, i. H. that natural vibrations form in them from a certain load, which can have a very disadvantageous effect on the cleaning result.

The purpose of the invention is to provide a cleaning device of the type mentioned at the outset which overcomes these disadvantages.

According to the invention, this is achieved in that the cleaning body is inelastically connected to the drive system by means of a drive part, and in that the oscillating mass formed in this way is mounted so that it can vibrate together in the housing.

Because the cleaning or processing body is now firmly connected to the vibration-generating drive system, a direct transmission of the generated vibrations to the processing body is possible, this forming an additional mass which increases the intensity of the transmitted vibrations increased accordingly. It also excludes natural vibrations between the vibration exciter and the processing body. The fact that the entire oscillating mass is arranged so as to be oscillatable in the device housing prevents the generated vibrations from being discharged onto the housing. Satisfactory cleaning results can be achieved due to the arrangement according to the invention with a significantly lower drive power and with simpler means than was previously possible with known devices.

The oscillating mass formed in this way can now be arranged so that it can oscillate in different ways in the housing, the best cleaning results having been achieved with a double-sided elastic bearing arranged approximately on both opposite motor ends. The flywheel is preferably arranged on the shaft of the drive motor, but the same can also be separated from the motor shaft, for. B. in the drive part.

It has proven to be particularly advantageous if, in a development of the invention, the oscillating mass formed from the cleaning body and the drive system and possibly the drive part is arranged elastically in the area of the centrifugal mass and is pivotable at the end opposite the centrifugal mass. For the elastic mounting of the oscillating mass in the area of the centrifugal mass, rubber bolts or spiral springs can advantageously be used, which are arranged between the housing and the drive part. It is useful to arrange two or three of these evenly distributed around the circumference so that they are either parallel or perpendicular to the cleaning object. The pivotable mounting arranged opposite at the other motor end can be connected to the device housing both elastically and inelastically. It is advantageous to design this storage as a suspension for the vibrating mass. It was found that a ball joint is particularly suitable for this, which is inelastically connected to the housing of the drive motor and the device. This avoids natural vibrations, which would otherwise cause an elastic connection; on the other hand, the small contact surface which has a ball joint prevents the transmission of vibrations to the device housing.

As a result of the centrifugal mass, the oscillation of the cleaning body is a predominantly circular movement, the intensity of which can also be changed, for example, by regulating the engine speed or with the aid of a reduction gear. The cleaning movement can be directed both parallel and perpendicular to the cleaning object. The direction of movement can be influenced by an appropriate arrangement of the elastic support and / or by a special design of the articulated suspension. For example, two elastic bolts arranged opposite one another can cause a more reciprocating oscillating movement, while three or more such symmetrically arranged transmit a circular cleaning movement to the cleaning body.

Another development of the invention can also provide for the drive part to be slidably arranged in the housing in a slot-shaped guide. This guide slot can be designed in a straight line or also in an arch or wave shape and enables the cleaning body to move back and forth in a straight line, which is advantageous in some applications. This slot-shaped guide is preferably provided in addition to the elastic bearing arranged in the area of the flywheel.

In order to be able to use cleaning bodies suitable for different purposes in the device, it can be provided in a further development of the invention to design the drive part for the interchangeable reception of differently designed cleaning bodies, preferably in the form of a hexagonal bolt provided with a securing means. This ensures an axially directed guide, with the aid of which cleaning bodies can be inserted into the device in a certain direction, for example to the handle. In another development of the device according to the invention it can be provided that the cleaning body in various forms, for. B. curved, formable and adaptable to the surface of the object to be cleaned.

Continuous cleaning is ensured if, in a further embodiment of the device according to the invention, a vessel for receiving cleaning agents is arranged thereon. Equipping with a suction device or a closure to such a device is also advantageous in devices that serve commercial purposes.

The invention is explained using an exemplary embodiment in which it represents a cleaning device according to the invention for cleaning more or less flat surfaces and is designed so that it summarizes the essential features of the invention. The device shown is designed as a hand-held device.

In the housing 5 formed from a pressed part with the handle 14 and divided in the vertical plane in the middle, is a vibration-generating drive system, consisting of a drive motor 20 and a rotatingly driven by the shaft of the same flywheel 21 with a befe on this Stigen drive part 22 swingably mounted. The continuation of the drive part 22 arranged in the form of a shell around the flywheel 21 has a hexagon bolt 22 ', to which a cleaning body 43 can be fastened by means of a retaining lock 13. The drive motor 20, as well as the drive part 22 and the cleaning body 43 form a common mass which can be driven to vibrate by the rotating flywheel mass 21 as a vibration exciter. The oscillatingly movable mass formed in this way is elastically mounted in the area of the centrifugal mass 21, on the housing 5 at the end opposite the centrifugal mass. The elastic mounting is formed from two diametrically opposed springs or rubber bolts 24, while the pivotable mounting consists of a ball joint 23 which is inelastically attached to the housing 5. The ball-and-socket joint consists of a bearing part 50 which can be placed on the rear side of the drive motor 20 and a ball pin 23 'inserted in the latter, furthermore two shell halves 51 u. 52, which are fastened to the housing 5 by means of two screws — represented by the line of symmetry 53. The drive part 22 and the bearing part 50 of the ball joint 23 are pressed by two threaded bolts 54 against the housing of the drive motor 20, which ensures a rigid connection. On the drive side, the housing 5 is closed off by a screw-on cover 55, which has an opening for the protruding drive pin 22 ′ of the drive part 22. If necessary, in order to achieve a reciprocating cleaning movement of the cleaning body 43, a slot-shaped guide 56 for guiding the drive part 22 can be provided in this cover 55. A seal 16 prevents cleaning agents or the like from getting inside the device.

The cleaning body 43 is provided with a cleaning part 42, consisting of foams, plastic fabrics, skins, bristles or the like, which are to be fastened to the latter by a clamping ring 47 or by a pusher 48 or the like. Through a channel 18, the supply of a cleaning or polishing agent is possibly also possible cleaning water, which is connected by a supply line 45 via a shut-off valve 46 to a cleaning agent container 44. An extension can also be attached to the handle 14. The drive motor 20, which can be operated with batteries 39, is actuated by an on / off switch 40. The nickel-cadmium batteries can be charged via the charger plug 41. The use of the cleaning device for polishing and. Ä. of objects is within the scope of the invention, as is de simultaneous drive of several cleaning bodies by the drive system according to the invention.
