Abstract

Switch arrangement with switches completely equipped both for normally closed and for normally open operation, in which, by means of an insulating part which can be selectively placed operatively with respect to the contact pieces which cooperate as breaker or the contact pieces which cooperate as maker, one type of operation in each case is blocked. For this the insulating part has abutment stops, which in both inserted positions in each case lie outside the contact places and which assure an air spacing between the contact pieces which thereby are blocked from making contact.

Description

The invention relates to a switch arrangement with switches fully equipped for both the normally closed and for the normally open function, in which a function type is blocked by an insulating part which can optionally be brought in between the contacts which act as a normally closed contact or as a normally open contact, the insulating part being in both positions has stops located outside the contact points, which ensure an air gap between the contact pieces blocked on a contact.

A switch arrangement according to the first part of claim 1 is known (DE-B2-2 622 100), in which the insulating part is designed as a roller which can be rotated in the housing and which has lugs which can be pivoted between the contact pieces which interact either as openers or closers are. The rotation of the roller can be carried out from the outside with a screwdriver when the device is fully assembled. This adjustment is therefore very convenient, but not secured against unauthorized and erroneous handling. Exchanging the opening / closing function can, depending on the application, lead to unmistakable destruction in production systems etc. and also to the endangerment of people.

Since these switches have to be largely taken apart, they are largely secured against unauthorized and erroneous changes, but each change of function is associated with a considerable amount of work. The same difficulties also exist with the switch known from US-A-3781 501, in which a switching cross member assembly and a cover assembly have to be removed for a change of function, rotated around different axes in each case and then reinstalled in the switch housing.

The invention has for its object to provide a switch assembly according to the first part of claim 1, in which the change in the type of function of the switch on the one hand can be carried out conveniently and quickly, but on the other hand an unwanted, erroneous or unauthorized changeover is largely excluded.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the insulating part is formed by a plate which can be attached to a side wall of the housing and which is provided with the pin-shaped stops projecting through openings in the housing side wall into the path of movement of a switching bridge to be blocked, and in two by 180 ° implementable different positions can be applied to the side wall of the housing.

The advantage of the invention is that the switches no longer have to be taken apart for a change in function, but that only an attached insulating part has to be removed from the housing and re-attached to the housing in a position turned through 180 °. As a result, a change of function can be carried out very quickly and easily, without endangering the functional reliability of the switching arrangement. On the other hand, however, the plate attached to the housing does not induce modification work and precludes an unwanted change in the function of the switches. In addition, in practice the housings of the normally closed and normally open are generally arranged closely next to each other on a rail or on a contactor, so that the plates to be implemented for a change of function cover each other and only after the switch has been removed from its holder Allow change of function. By means of the invention, at the same time, the function type can be conveniently changed over by manipulations to be carried out outside the housing, but at the same time extensive protection against unintentional or unauthorized changeover is achieved.

In a further development of the invention, it can further be provided that the implementable plate-shaped insulating part bears on its upper and on its lower end face connection designations for opener or closer function, of which, depending on the installation position, only the relevant designations are on the visible side of the switch arrangement. The insulating part can also be designed in such a way that it covers fixed connection designations for the two types of functions in such a way that only the function number of the set switch function can be read in each case. These measures ensure that at the same time that the function type is changed, the connection designations present at the connection terminals are also necessarily correct.

Further features specified in the subclaims characterize very useful constructive realizations of the subject matter of the invention.

Die Fig. 1 bis 4 zeigen das Gehäuse 1 eines mechanisch betätigten zweipoligen Schalters mit den vier Anschlußklemmen 2, den Festkontaktpaaren 3 und mit den zwei Schaltkammern 4, die einerseits durch Seitenwände 5 des Gehäuses 1 gebildet werden und andrerseits durch die Mittelwand der beweglichen Schalttraverse 6, die durch eine Feder 7 in ihre Endstellung gedrückt wird.1 to 4 show the housing 1 of a mechanically operated two-pole switch with the four terminals 2, the fixed contact pairs 3 and with the two switching chambers 4, which are formed on the one hand by side walls 5 of the housing 1 and on the other hand by the central wall of the movable switching crossbar 6 , which is pressed into its end position by a spring 7.

In each switching chamber there are two movable switching bridges 8, 8 ', 8 ", 8"' which, depending on the position of the switching crossbar 6, both come into contact with the fixed contact pairs 3 and make contact. The movable switching bridges 8 to 8 "'are supported by springs 9 in the switching crossmember 6.

In the side walls 5 of the housing 1, a plurality of openings 10 are provided according to the invention for receiving or passing pin-shaped stops 11, which are attached to an insulating part 12, 12 'which can be plugged onto the side walls 5 laterally and there by means of the resilient latching arms 13 is fixed.

The two pin-shaped stops 11 of each insulating part 12, 12 'protrude into the range of movement of the rear bends 14 of the C-shaped switching bridges 8 and 8 "' and prevent the contacting of these movable switching bridges on the fixed contact pairs 3 by restricting the path Stops 11 are located at a considerable distance from the contact points, depending on whether the insulating part 12 is used in one position or rotated through 180 ° in the other position, in this way the normally closed or normally open bridge is prevented from making contact and the illustrated left switching chamber is shown as an opener and the right switching chamber as a closer, so that the movable switching bridge 8 'of the left chamber makes contact with the fixed contact pair 3, while in the right switching chamber the switching bridge 8' "through the stops 11 on the Contact is prevented, with a large, perfect insulation ensure the air gap between the fixed contact pairs 3 and the contact pieces of the blocked switching bridge 8 '"is provided. When the crossbar 6 is actuated, as shown in FIG. 4, the movable switching bridge 8 comes to rest on the stops 11 on the left and thus no longer has any functional significance, while in the right switching chamber the movable switching bridge 8 "acts as a closer on the fixed contact pair 3 Contact there.

Terminal designations are printed on the end faces of the convertible insulating parts 12, 12 ', each of which is covered in the housing at the bottom and can be read from above. As can be seen from FIG. 3, the insulating part 12 of the left switching chamber inserted for the “opener” function shows the connection designations “21”, “22”, while the insulating part 12 ′ shows the connection designations “13”, “14” for the normally open function. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4, the insulating parts 12, 12 'are identical, with the exception of the orientation of their imprint.

In the auxiliary switch attachment for an auxiliary contactor explained in FIGS. 5, 6 and 7, the changeable contacts are placed in the outer chambers and thus in turn are accessible to the influence of the implementable insulating parts 15, 15 '. Since the function change is simple and easy in this way, the stock of three different auxiliary switch attachments is reduced to just one version.

The four-pole actuator is slid onto the side of the auxiliary contactor 16 and fixed there. The driver device 17 couples with the driver 18 of the movable switching crossbeam 19 and thus connects the auxiliary contactor and the attachment to form a functional unit.

Since the middle contacts 20, 21 remain unchanged, their connection designation, in this case "61", "62" and "71", "72" is also printed unchanged. The variable contacts on the right and left are assigned variable connection designations, which can be done in the manner explained with reference to FIG. 3.

In order to be able to print the insulating parts 15, 15 ', which are responsible for the change of function, uniformly, it is also possible to print these parts only with the function numbers "1-2", "3-4" and these with the the designation fields 22 of the front housing attached digits z. B. »5« and »8« to meet the two-digit standard names such as »51«, »52«, »83« and »84«. In this way, confusing the insulating parts 15, 15 'would be of no importance, since the print is the same for both the left and the right side. If this distinctive character is also to be achieved with printing according to FIG. 3, the insulating parts 12, 12 'would have to be designed somewhat differently, e.g. B. by adding a fitting cam such that the insulating part 12 can only be applied on the left side and the insulating part 12 'only on the right side of the switch housing.

Fig. 8 shows a switch arrangement in which each contact piece of a movable switching bridge 23 between a pair of electrical interconnected fixed contact pieces 24/25, 26/27. The housing 28 has openings 29, 30 aligned with the two end positions of the switching bridge 23, through which the stops 31 provided on insulating parts, such as the plates according to the first exemplary embodiments, can be inserted from the outside in such a way that the switching bridge 23 in each case only on one side can make contact with the fixed contact pieces 24 to 27. In the position shown, the switch is set up as a break contact. To convert it into a closer, the insulating part is pulled off and - with the switching crossbar depressed - inserted in a position rotated by 180 ° with its locking pins into the upper openings 29, after which the switching bridge assumes the dash-dotted position 32.

A switch device as claimed in Claim 1 having a pair of fixed contacts (3) and two movable connecting bridges (8, 8'; 8", 8"') enclosing the pair of fixed contacts (3) between them, characterised in that the side wall (5) of the housing (1) comprises openings (10) aligned with the path of movement of the two connecting bridges (8, 8'; 8", 8"') at each side of the pair of fixed contacts (3).
3. A switch device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein each contact stud of a connecting bridge (23) lies between a pair of fixed contact studs (24, 25) which are electrically connected to one another, characterised in that the housing (28) is provided with openings (29, 30) to receive the pin-shaped stops (31) at each side of the centre line of the fixed studs (24, 25). (Figure 8).
4. A switch device as claimed in Claim 1, characterised in that the plate-shaped insulating member (12, 12'; 15, 15') carries connection marks (21, 22; 13, 14) for the normally-closed auxiliary contact function or the normally-open auxiliary contact function at the ends.
5. A switch device as claimed in Claim 4, characterised in that the plate-shaped insulating member (15, 15') covers connection marks fixed to the housing for both kinds of function in such a manner that only the function figure of the set switch function can be read.
6. A switch device as claimed in Claim 2, characterised in that the connecting bridges (8, 8', 8", 8"') are C-section members with their bottom arm adjacent to thefixed pair of contacts (3), and that the stops (11) of the insulating member (12) engage in the path of movement of the two bent portions (14) of the C-section members.
7. A switch device as claimed in one of the Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the plate-shaped insulating member (12) is provided with detent arms (13) engaging behind the corners of the housing, at ist ends.
