Abstract

An elongated elastomeric strip has means along the longitudinal edge for fastening to a receiving element secured in a roadbed. The fastening element comprises at least one set of retaining members, each having a head portion at least in part embedded and bonded securely in the elastomeric strip and a projecting portion depending from the strip. The retaining members are arranged so that the projecting ends of some of them face oppositely to the projecting ends of the others of them, thereby being relatively movable toward and away from each other under deformation of said strip and cooperate to resiliently clamp onto the receiving element. The projecting ends of the retaining members are preferably claw-like.

Description

The invention relates to a joint cover in traffic routes, in particular bridges, in which an optionally stiffening insert for receiving traffic loads having elastomeric base body by means of in the area of its two longitudinal edges firmly integrated into it, for. B. cast or vulcanized, from separately arranged links existing connectors made of a rigid material over at least partially adapted to the outer shape of a projection of the base body, behind projections of the associated joint edge claws are releasably held at the joint edges.

A known joint cover of this type (DE-PS 23 57 108) is provided with connecting parts designed as short sections over the joint length, the links of which consist of an upper metal plate and a lower metal frame, which comprise an intermediate layer of rubber. The connecting parts are pushed onto an anchor rail anchored in the edge of the joint and partially reach under this in the area of the longitudinal edges. In order to achieve a tight connection, the connecting parts, which are designed as metal frames, also extend under the adjacent pavement, which must therefore be destroyed if the joint cover is to be removed. In this known joint cover, an elastomeric base body is only present in the area of each longitudinal edge; A separate sealing profile ensures that the joint gap itself is sealed.

Other known joint covers (DE-PS 2155651, US-PS 3324774) have vulcanized fastening elements in the opposite edge regions of a cover strip made of rubber-like material, which are fastened by means of screws to connecting profile pieces anchored in the concrete substructure. Such screw connections are cumbersome during assembly; they also require a precise adjustment of the hole spacing for the attachment of the screw connection. A tight fit on the surface is practically impossible to achieve. For the purpose of removing the known joint covers, the surrounding pavement must also be destroyed.

Furthermore, it is known (DE-OS 2011822) to wedge bends of elastomeric joint covers in channels in the joint edge in a watertight manner. This type of edge connection makes it easier to remove the joint cover; Such joint covers are however limited in terms of their resilience. In this context, it is also known (DE-AS 17 84 675) to replace the wedges mentioned with ropes threaded into bores along the edges of the joint covers.

In contrast, the object of the invention is to provide a joint cover of the type mentioned at the outset which is simple and can be installed without screw connections, and which has a watertight edge connection which has also withstood high traffic loads and is releasably anchored in the joint edge.

This object is achieved in that the links of the connecting parts are lamellar with transverse to the longitudinal edges of the lamella planes, that each link has a single claw pointing in one direction and alternates with a link with claw pointing in the opposite direction, so that at Connecting to the joint edge a plurality of first claws and a plurality of second claws while deforming the base body and reversing rotation and / or displacement of the links with first claws relative to those with second claws.

The members forming the connection parts serve on the one hand to stiffen the edge region of the joint cover and on the other hand by means of their claws as connection elements which ensure a firm, form-fitting connection to the joint edge. As a result of their firm integration into the elastomeric base body mass, a restoring force is generated by moving the first and second claws towards or away from one another, which causes the claws to snap into corresponding recesses or behind corresponding projections of the joint edge. Like the inserts, the links are preferably made of a deformation-resistant material, for example steel. The elastomer for the base body is preferably natural and / or synthetic rubber.

In order to achieve a perfect sealing effect, it is advantageous that the claws adjacent to the outer contour of the protrusion of the base body are completely integrated in the protrusion.

The fact that the links with first claws are alternately arranged next to each other in each longitudinal edge with those with second claws results in a uniform anchoring over the entire length of the joint cover.

The restoring force which engages in the holder of the joint edge is generated in that the links with the first claws can be rotated with respect to those with the second claws, whereby, of course, an additional parallel displacement can be overacted. The elastomeric body mass is subjected to shear and torsion. However, it can also be subjected to tension or pressure.

The snap-in connection works symmetrically if the first and second claws are either directed towards or away from each other.

After snapping, the claws are expedient in one through recesses or the Projections of the joint edge formed seat apart from the effect of the elastic deformation forces of the base body spread by wedges, strips or the like. A further securing of the position can be achieved, for example, by pouring out the cavity between the claws with a material that then hardens.

Zugleich ergibt sich dadurch eine vollkommene Abdichtung. At the same time, this creates a perfect seal.

To limit the longitudinal expansion of the joint cover and the mutual displacement of the members forming the connecting parts, it is provided that they are threaded onto ropes cast or vulcanized into the base body, or that such ropes are inserted into recesses in the members.

The links for connection to further stiffening inserts of the joint cover can advantageously have connecting elements located in their interior of the base body.

A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention consists in that the base body is folded perpendicularly to the edges between the edge regions and has correspondingly folded inserts in the extension of the links forming the connecting parts. These inlays can be threaded in the area of the upper and lower folds of the fold on tightly bound ropes running through in the longitudinal direction of the joint.

Another advantageous embodiment consists in that the base body spans the entire joint width as a solid body and is stiffened by means of a helical or plate-shaped insert.

In the following three embodiments of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawing.

Durch Löcher 8 hindurch sind die Glieder 6 und 7 mittels eines Seils 9, welches den Randbereich der Fugenabdeckung durchzieht und in den Grundkörper fest eingebunden ist, aufgefädelt.1, reinforcing inserts 2 in the form of spiral springs made of spring wire are vulcanized into an elastomeric base body 1, each of which extends transversely to the expansion joint 3 in the interior of the base body. The opposite ends of the spiral springs are, as shown in Fig. 1 for the left joint edge 4, threaded into holes in the connecting elements 5 of a link 6, which together with another, also incorporated in the base body 1 link 7, the connecting parts for connecting the Show joint cover with joint edge 4. These connecting parts are of lamellar design and are closely connected in the longitudinal direction of the joints one behind the other in the base body 1. The links 6 and 7 are threaded through holes 8 by means of a rope 9 which runs through the edge region of the joint cover and is firmly integrated into the base body.

Both the link 7 shown in FIG. 2 and the link 6 shown in FIG. 3 each have an attachment in the form of a claw, e.g. B. Link 7 a first, left-facing claw 10 and link 6, a second, right-facing claw 11. With the two claws 10 and 11, which alternate between the entire joint cover one behind the other and which together essentially have the contour of one down form directed projection 12 of the base body 1, this engages in an anchored with the joint edge 4, open at the top, elongated hollow profile 13, the claws 10 and 11 engage with their projections a corresponding extension 14 of the hollow profile. By means of a strip-like wedge 15, which also runs in the longitudinal direction of the joint and engages between the claws, the latter are secured in their spread position. When assembling the joint cover, its projection 12 is pressed into the hollow profile 13 from above, the claws 10 and 11 initially approaching one another during the passage through the narrowest point in the region of the upper hollow profile edge, in order then to move apart again into the spread position shown . A preferably finger-shaped support structure 16 is part of the hollow profile 13 and serves to support the joint cover near the edge.

The embodiment according to FIG. 4 has an insert in the form of a plate 17 bridging the joint gap, some cavities 18 extending in the longitudinal direction of the joint above the joint edge 4 as well as lamella-like connecting parts in the form of links 19 and 20 21 not twisted against each other, as is the case in FIG. 1, but first pushed towards one another and then, after having overcome the constriction of the upper edge of the channel 21, pushed apart again into the locking position shown. In this position, the links 19 and 20 are secured by strips 22 and 23 inserted in the longitudinal direction of the joint. The connecting parts here consist of the link 19 with a first claw 10 and the lamellar link 20 arranged in the same plane with a second claw 11, both claws being directed away from one another as in FIG. 1. As in FIG. 1, in the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the links 19 and 20 are completely integrated into the base body 1, for example by pouring or vulcanizing in, so that the outline shape in the area of the claws coincides with the outline shape of the claws themselves. For inclusion the strips 22 and 23 corresponding through holes remain free.

The opposite arrangement of the links 19 and 20 shown is repeated at short intervals over the entire length of the joint cover. The elastomeric base body 1 delimits the joint cover both upwards, where it forms the roadway surface 24, and to the side, the side wall 25 being flush with the corresponding side of the channel 21 and adjoining the roadway surface 26. Downwards, the base body 1 rests on the concrete joint edge 4, in the recess 27 of which the groove 21 runs.

The cross section shown in FIG. 5 through a joint cover uses hook-shaped members 28 and 29, one member 28 (FIG. 6) being provided with a first claw 10 and the other member 29 (FIG. 7) being provided with a second claw 11, also here in turn, the links 28 and 29 are completely cast or vulcanized into the base body. The claws engage behind a profile rail 30 anchored in the joint edge 4 and mushroom-shaped in cross section. In the area of a projection 31 of the joint cover containing the claws 10 and 11, the claws 10 only partially border the outer shape of the projection 31, namely in the area of the contact surface with the profile rail 30 at.

Otherwise, they are covered on the outside by a thick elastomeric layer 32. During assembly, the claws are first shifted towards each other in the direction of the double arrow P, so that their distance initially increases with a corresponding expansion of the elastomeric mass of the base body 1; after the claws 10 and 11 engage under corresponding lateral projections of the profiled rail 30, the initial state is then restored. Again, seen in the longitudinal direction of the joint, the lamellar links 28 alternate with the lamellar links 29. Link 29 additionally has a bore 33 as a connection element for connection to an insert 34 stiffening the joint cover. The insert 34, and further inserts 35, shown individually in FIG. 8, are adapted to the framework-like design of the joint covering in the area between its edge areas. Rigid ropes 36 run through the bores 33, which are also firmly integrated into the base body 1, so that they prevent its expansion in the longitudinal direction of the joint, while at the same time preventing a lateral displacement of the inserts 34 relative to the inserts 35. Like the links 28 and 29, the inserts 34 and 35 are also lamella-like and are closely spaced over the entire length of the joint cover.

Fig. 9 shows connection parts and inserts of the embodiment like Fig. 5 in plan view, the ropes 36 are shown in dash-dot lines.
