Description

The invention relates to a lifting and tipping device for emptying waste containers of different dimensions, which are essentially rectangular in cross-section, into a collecting container, e.g. for a refuse collection vehicle, with a power-driven lifting carriage carrying a swivel basket and with recesses arranged in the upper end region of the swivel basket wall as receptacles and drivers for the mouth-side edges of the refuse containers, which protrude outward beyond the refuse container walls and are open in a U-shape at the bottom.

Such a lifting and tilting device for emptying waste containers of different dimensions, which are essentially rectangular in cross section, is known from DE-AS 2146 653. In her, the receiving device consists of a gripping rail located at the top, which together with the lower support extends essentially over the width of the pouring opening of the collecting container and interacts to lock the waste container when it is raised with an angle rail as a counter bearing for the edge of the waste container. So that the gripping rail can grasp the rim of the mouth of differently wide or long garbage containers, it is provided over its entire length with claws projecting upwards and recesses located in between.

The operation of this known lifting and tipping device is unsatisfactory insofar as the waste containers are only gripped by the gripping rail at their upper mouth edge during the lifting and tipping process. As a result, they are not secured against falling in the event of a sudden malfunction in the power drive. In addition, the rim of the mouth is heavily stressed by the weight of the waste in the waste container, so that it can easily be overloaded and destroyed. There is also the risk that if the garbage containers are not aligned correctly, the claws of the gripping rail will hit the stiffening webs of the rim of the mouth of the garbage containers and then damage them. A further disadvantage is that in the known lifting and tilting device for the pivoting movement of the receiving device from the rest position before it is snapped into the mouth of the waste container, a second rest position is required in order to enable the waste container to be aligned precisely. The way of working is therefore cumbersome.

Beide Klemmvorrichtungen gemeinsam wirken hingegen im Bedarfsfall mit Müllgefässen grosser Abmessung zusammen.DE-OS 2251 890 also includes a lifting and tipping device for waste containers of various sizes, the lifting container of which is equipped with a swivel basket and is equipped with sliding, two-part clamping devices which are spaced apart from one another. Each of the two-part clamping devices is designed so that it can capture and fix a small or medium-sized waste container. Both clamping devices, on the other hand, work together with large-sized waste containers if necessary.

In this known lifting and tipping device, compartment-like recesses are provided at the upper end of the swivel basket with support strips arranged towards the front of the swivel basket, which serve as a holder and centering device for engaging in the mouth of the waste containers.

This lift-tilt device also has the disadvantage that it is easy to cause damage or even destruction at the mouth edges of the refuse containers, in particular as a result of overloading.

Also known from DE-AS 1231616 and DE-AS 1947821 are lifting and tilting devices whose clamping devices for the waste containers act in a similar way to the clamping devices according to DE-OS 2251890. Damage or destruction at the mouth edges of the waste containers can therefore be caused here the clamping devices can also not be avoided safely.

The purpose of the invention is to eliminate the shortcomings which still exist in the known lifting and tipping devices. Therefore, the object of the invention is to provide a lifting and tipping device of the type described at the outset, with which not only waste containers of different dimensions, but also of different types can be placed in the waste collection container, e.g. into a garbage collection vehicle. The lifting and tipping device should also be constructed in such a way that damage or destruction of the supporting devices provided on the waste containers is reliably prevented and the waste containers cannot fall off even if a sudden malfunction occurs in the power drive of the lifting and tilting device. Finally, the arrangement should also be such that the garbage containers can be emptied when the garbage collection vehicle is uphill.

A solution to this problem is basically achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

From DE-OS 1966617 it is already known in the case of lifting and tipping devices to arrange a pedestal-like support plate for the waste container at the lower end of the pivoting basket wall. However, this lifting and tilting device cannot be used for waste containers of different sizes.

A particularly economical mode of operation of the lifting and tilting device can be achieved by using the features of claim 2. This not only makes it possible to empty a single large-sized waste container into the collecting container. Rather, several garbage containers of small or medium size can be used simultaneously for the purpose of their disposal emptying are moved, as is known per se for example from DE-OS 2251 890 and DE-AS 1231616.

A relatively uniform load distribution is achieved in the latter case by using the features of claim 3.

For a correct introduction of the garbage containers into the lifting and tipping device, it may also be important to use the features of claims 4 and 5.

A perfect location fixation of the garbage containers in the lifting and tipping device, it is also useful if the features of claims 6 to 11 are used individually or together.

However, the features of claims 12 to 19 can also be used for the same purpose.

While lifting and tipping devices with the special features of claims 8 to 11 and 12 to 19 are used in connection with garbage containers made of sheet metal or plastic, the mouth edge of which is designed as a substantially outward and downward-facing, U-shaped collar and as a driving coupling the lifting and tipping device cooperates, it is important to equip the lifting and tipping device with the features of claims 20 to 25 if waste containers of the type are also to be emptied with it, in which cylindrical and projecting laterally as driver and coupling members in the region of the mouth edge Pins are provided.

In the case of the lifting and tipping device according to DE-OS 2251 890, it is already known to arrange additional cantilever arms on the pivoting basket wall of a lifting and tipping device which are used for holding waste containers with cylindrical driver pins. In this case, however, the garbage containers additionally interact with the clamping devices via supporting components of U-shaped cross section in order to ensure that they are securely held during the lifting and tilting process.

Further structural designs for lifting and tilting devices according to the invention result from claims 26 to 29. The measures according to claim 28 ensure that the pivoting basket cannot be inadvertently lowered to the floor with its support plate. If this is to happen, however, the lock must first be disengaged. Damage to the swivel basket lowered to the floor can be avoided on the other hand by the features of claim 29.

In Fig. 1 of the drawing, a section of the rear wall 1 of a refuse collection vehicle is shown, in the upper area of which the two bulk doors 2 and 3 are partially indicated.

The rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle is assigned a lifting and tipping device which, in the usual way, comprises a power-driven lifting carriage and a pivoting basket articulated thereon. For the sake of simplicity, only this swing-tilting wall 4 and a pedestal-like support plate 5 located at its lower end are indicated of this lifting and tilting device.

The pivoting basket wall 4 is provided in the region of its upper end with two groups of recesses 6, 8 and 7, which are spaced apart from one another and into which the mouth edges of waste containers of different sizes can be inserted.

The lower recesses 6 and 7 have a width which is adapted to the mouth width of small waste containers, while the recesses 8 and 9 which are arranged at a distance above them are designed with respect to their width so that they can accommodate the mouth edges of waste containers of medium size.

At the upper edge of the lower recess 6, securing and / or counter-bearing claws 10 and 11 projecting inward in a cam-like manner are provided, and corresponding locking and counter-bearing claws 12 and 13 are also located at the upper end of the lower recess 7.

16,17 zugeordnet. The upper recesses 8 and 9 are also each assigned two such cam-like securing and counter-bearing claws 14, 15 and 16, 17.

It should be mentioned that the securing and / or counter-bearing claws 10 to 17 are at a distance from the lower boundary edge of the respective recess 6 to 9, which is adapted to the overall height of the mouth edges formed on the waste containers.

While the recesses 6 to 9 of the swivel cage wall 4 with the associated securing and / or counter-bearing claws 10 to 19 each interact with the one below Ren end of the swing basket wall 4 to the rear projecting, platform-like support plate 5 for alignment, support and location fixation of garbage containers, which have an outwardly and downwardly projecting, substantially U-shaped mouth edge, are also near the upper end of the swing basket wall 4 whose lateral boundaries are still attached or attachable brackets in the form of two cantilever arms, which are required when garbage containers are also to be emptied with the lifting and tipping device, which near their upper mouth edge with laterally arranged, cylindrical pins, as securing and holding members the lifting and tilting movement are equipped.

Known arms for supporting the lower part of the refuse receptacles, not shown here, can also be provided on these cantilever arms 18 and 19.

In order to secure the garbage receptacles with their mouth edges in one of the recesses 7 to 9 of the pivoting basket wall 4, slide plates 20, 21 are movably suspended on the pivoting basket wall 4, for example via handlebar levers, which are automatically held in a locked position by energy accumulators, but by interacting with the stationary position of the rear wall 1 of the collecting container seated curves are inevitably pressed into a release position when the pivoting basket wall 4 enters its lowered position.

The structure and mode of operation of these slide plates 20 and 21 will be explained in detail later with reference to FIG. 6.

In Fig. 2 der Zeichnung ist gezeigt, dass die Schwenkkorbwand 4 des Schwenkkorbes 32 mit einer Schürze 24 versehen wird, welche Lagerböcke 25 und 26 zur schwenkbaren Verbindung mit dem (nicht dargestellten) Hubschlitten aufweist.2 of the drawing shows that the pivoting basket wall 4 of the pivoting basket 32 is provided with an apron 24 which has bearing blocks 25 and 26 for pivotable connection to the lifting carriage (not shown).

In the pedestal-like support plate 5 of the swivel basket 32 flaps 27 and 28 are pivotally mounted, which can be raised with their edges facing the swivel basket wall 4 and which engage in a peg-like manner behind the bottom edges of the refuse containers for fixing the garbage containers on the support plate 5. A cutout 29 at the free end of the platform-like support plate 5 serves as free space in which the rollers of the garbage containers are received when they rest on the platform-like support plate 5.

From Fig. 3 it follows that on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle sits a slide frame 30, which is only partially shown. This slide frame 30 serves to support and guide the lifting carriage 31 (likewise only partially shown) on which the lifting carriage 32 consisting of the rear wall 4 and the platform-like support plate 5 is suspended.

It can also be seen from FIG. 3 that a plastic protection 60 can be arranged below the platform-like support plate 5, which prevents dirt from falling onto the floor through the recesses in the platform-like support plate 5 which accommodate the flaps 27 and 28. 3, the apron 24 is shown at a distance behind the swivel cage wall 4 and in the region of the recesses 6 to 9.

These carry at their free end exclusively rearward and inward open claws 55 to 57, which are preceded by swivel bolts 33, which are in the locked position under the force of a spring 36 in front of the claw opening and which have outward-directed run-up bevels 34, through which they pass the pins of the waste containers can be pressed against the spring force in the release position.

The swivel bolts 33 can be actuated by a push rod 37, which carries a roller 38 at its free end, and in such a way that the roller 38 of the push rod 37 runs during the lowering movement of the lifting carriage 31 on start-up curves 23 arranged in a fixed manner on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle thereby inevitably pushes the pivot bolt 33 against the force of the spring 36 in the release position down.

Structure and operation of the claws 55 to 57 and the pivot bolt 33 will be explained in more detail later in connection with FIGS. 7 and 8.

In addition to the two spaced-apart groups of two recesses 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 spaced one above the other, the pivoting basket wall 4 also has an additional recess 39 which continuously extends above the two recesses 8 and 9 extends almost the entire width of the swing basket wall 4. This recess 39 is limited at the top by cam-like securing and / or counter-bearing claws 40 and 41.

The recess 39 in the swivel cage wall 4 is provided so that large-sized garbage containers can also be emptied without any problems by the lifting and tilting device.

From Fig. 5 it follows that the existing from swivel cage wall 4 with apron 24 and articulated by bearing blocks 25 and 26 on the lifting carriage swivel cage 32 has a pedestal-like support plate 42 which is provided at its free end with a swivel leading edge 43 which is against spring force Floor can be lowered and facilitated opening of the garbage containers on the support plate 42 allows.

Dabei ist beispielsweise der untere Lenkhebel 48 über seinen Lagerbolzen 50 hinaus verlängert und trägt an seinem freien Ende eine Rolle 51, die mit der Anlaufkurve 22 an der Rückwand 1 des Müllsammelfahrzeuges zusammenwirkt.6 shows that the slide plates 20 and 21, which serve to secure the position of the waste containers in the swivel basket 32 and are effective in the area of the recesses 7 to 9 and 39 of the swivel basket wall 4, are each held by two steering levers 47 and 48, which are parallelogram-like on the Back of the swing basket wall 4 are pivotally mounted about bolts 49 and 50. For example, the lower one Steering lever 48 extends beyond its bearing pin 50 and carries at its free end a roller 51 which interacts with the run-up curve 22 on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle.

39 fest.Via a tension spring 52 acting on the extension of the steering lever 48, the slide plates 20 and 21 are automatically pushed upwards relative to the pivoting basket wall 4, so that they each come from below into the area of the recesses 6, with the integrally formed locking lugs 44, 45 and 46. 7 or 8, 9 or 39 protrude, as can be seen from Fig. 1. The locking lugs as security elements each move into the downwardly U-shaped mouth of the waste container in question after the lifting slide 31 has started its upward movement and as a result the roller 51 of the extended steering lever 48 has moved away from the area of the fixed run-up curves 22. The locking lugs 44 to 46 hold the waste container securely with its mouth edge in the recesses 6 to 9 and 39, respectively.

Since, when the refuse collection vehicle is traveling uphill, the swivel basket 32 naturally levels itself automatically into its vertical position when it is mounted on the lifting carriage 31, it can happen that in this operating state, the roller 51 at the extension end of the steering lever 48 moves out of the effective range of the fixed position on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle seated start-up curves 22 removed. As a result, the slide plates 20 and 21 are naturally moved by the tension springs 52 so that their locking lugs 44 to 46 undesirably go up into the area of the recesses 6 to 9 and 39 before the mouth of the waste container is indented into these recesses. In order to be able to bring about a securing effect at the mouth of the garbage container, a hand lever 53 is rigidly connected to the steering lever 48 according to FIG. 6, via which slide plates 20 and 21 with their locking lugs 44 to 46 can be manually disengaged until the mouth of the Garbage containers are indented into the relevant recess 6 to 9 or 39. After releasing the hand lever 53, the locking action of the slide plates 20 and 21 occurs automatically due to the action of the springs 52.

The purely schematically shown in Figures 1 to 3, designed as cantilever arms 18 and 19 brackets for waste containers with cylindrical coupling pins located near their mouth is shown in more detail in Figures 7 and 8. The result is that the claws provided on the free end of cantilever arms 54 are formed by side cheeks 55 and upper strips 56 and lower strips 57, the distance between the strips 56 and 57 being adapted to the diameter of the pins fastened to the waste containers. On the outside of the cheeks 55, the pivot bolts 33 acted upon by a leaf spring 36 are movably suspended around bearing bolts 58, so that they automatically interlock in front of the rear opening of the claws. The swivel bolts 33 can be swiveled into the release position either via a hand lever 35 or via the push rod 37 against the action of the spring 36. The push rod 37 interacts via the roller 38 mounted on the free end with the run-up curves 33 on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle. The pushrods 33 are normally automatically pushed into their release position via the push rod 37 when the pivoting basket 32 is lowered into its lower end position via the lifting slide 31.

However, since, as already mentioned, the swivel cage 32 automatically moves into the vertical when driving uphill, the push rod 37 then comes out of contact with the starting curves 23, so that it is necessary to press the swivel bolts 33 manually via the hand lever 35 into the release position. In some cases, however, it is also possible to disengage the swivel bolts 33 when the refuse containers are pushed onto the pedestal-like support plate 5 or 42 in that the pins attached to the refuse containers come into operative connection with the run-on slope 34 at the front end of the swivel bolts 33.

The push rod 37 interacts with the swivel bolts 33 via an articulated connection 59, which is provided at a distance above the bearing pin 58 on the hand lever 35.

In the lifting and tilting device shown in FIGS. 9 to 11, the pivoting basket wall 4 and the platform-like support plate 5 basically have the same configuration as in the lifting and tilting device according to FIGS. In the upper end region of the pivoting basket wall 4 of the pivoting basket 32, two recesses 6 and 8 or 7 and 9 are provided in two groups next to one another and staggered in the vertical direction, while there is a further recess 39 running almost over the entire width of the pivoting basket wall 4. Securing and / or counter bearing claws 10 to 17 or 40 and 41 are also assigned to these recesses 6 to 9 and 39.

7, 9 bzw. 39 jedoch die seitlichen Riegelplatten 20 und 21 nicht zugeordnet.9 and 10, however, the side locking plates 20 and 21 are not assigned to the recesses 6, 8 or 7, 9 or 39, respectively.

Instead, each of the two groups of recesses 6, 8 and 7, 9 which are staggered one above the other in the vertical direction are assigned in the vertical direction locking slide slides 61 and 62. These locking slides 60 and 61 each have side extensions 65 and 66 provided with sliding edges 63 and 64, which can be seen in FIG. 10. The sliding edges 63 and 64 are guided within the box-shaped, upwardly open apron 24 of the swivel basket 32 in slide rails 67 and 68, the locking slides 61 and 62 being able to move downward through openings (not shown) in the box bottom of the apron 24.

The locking slides 61 and 62 are each displaced vertically between their rest position and their respective working position via toggle levers 69 and 70, the upper working position of which is indicated by the dash-dotted line 71 in FIG. 9.

The toggle lever 69 is formed by the two handlebar levers 72 and 73 and the toggle lever 70 is formed by the two handlebar levers 74 and 75, the handlebar levers 72 and 74 being articulated on the locking slides 61 and 62, while the handlebar levers 73 and 75 on the rear on the Store swivel basket wall 4.

The toggle levers 69 and 70 are actuated together by a push rod 76 which engages their knee joints and which can be moved either by a hand lift 27 or by force actuation.

In the position of the toggle levers 69 and 70 shown in FIG. 9, the locking slides 61 and 62 assume their lower rest position. In the upper working position of the locking slide 61 and 62, the toggle levers 69 and 70 are moved to the left, slightly beyond their extended position and are fixed in this position by means of fixed stops on the swivel cage wall 4.

From Fig. 11 it can be seen that the lift-and-tilt device is driven by power drives, e.g. Hydraulic cylinders 78 and 79 can be moved. Here, the cylinder housing is articulated at the upper end of the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle, while its piston rod engages bearings 81 and 82, respectively, which sit on the side edges of the swivel basket wall 4. 11 that these bearings 81 and 82 are in the lowered rest position of the swivel cage 32 at a distance perpendicularly below the bearing blocks 25 and 26, via which the swivel cage 32 is articulated to the lifting slide 31.

Again below the bearings 81 and 82 4 rollers 83 and 84 are rotatably mounted on the rear of the swivel basket wall, which interact with start-up curves 85 and 86 on the rear wall 1 of the refuse collection vehicle. The run-up curves 85 and 86 are designed such that their curve edges interacting with the rollers 83 and 84 continuously move further away from the rear wall 1 in the direction from bottom to top. It is hereby achieved that when the lifting slide 31 is raised from its lower end position, the tilting process of the swivel cage 32 already begins, and thus the emptying time and the power requirement are optimized. Through the arrangement of the bearing blocks 25 and 26 of the swivel basket 32 on the lifting slide 31 and the bearings 81 and 82 of the piston rods 80 on the swivel basket 32, a large swivel angle for the swivel basket 32 and thus a steep angle of repose when emptying the waste containers can also be achieved.

While the garbage containers of small and medium size are relatively easy to handle when inserted into the lifting and tipping device by the garbage workers and can thus be securely inserted into the relevant recesses 6, 8 or 7, 9 of the swivel basket wall 4, this work requires large-sized garbage containers considerable effort. However, to ensure that the large garbage containers also come into engagement in the relevant recess 39 of the swivel basket wall 4, the guide strips 87 and 88 shown in FIG. 10 are provided in the area thereof, which extend obliquely backwards and outwards and to a certain extent in the manner of a funnel as Alignment agents for large-sized waste containers are effective.
