Abstract
El presente invento se relaciona con un proceso mejorado e integrado para la extracción y purificación de tocotrienoles o tocoferoles, caratenoides y esteroles de aceites vegetales y otros aceites comestibles. Los ácidos grasos que forman parte de los aceites vegetales se ven sujetos a esterificación alcohólica para formar una capa rica en ésteres que incluye ésteres de alquilo de ácidos grasos, carotenoides, tocotrienoles o tocoferoles y esteroles. Las ventajas de este proceso radican en que los tocotrienoles o tocoferoles, carotenoides y esteroles son eficientemente producidos sin que medie ninguna descomposición o degradación sustancial de estos fitonutrientes.
