Abstract

La invención se relaciona con composiciones que comprenden mezclas de ácidos grasos que comprenden ácidos grasos insaturados de cadena muy larga. Los ácidos grasos de la mezcla de ácidos grasos se aíslan de aceites naturales. En particular, las mezclas de ácidos grasos comprenden una cantidad enriquecida de ácidos grasos monoinsaturados de cadena muy larga (VLCMUFA) y ácidos grasos poliinsaturados de cadena muy larga (VLCPUFA). En una realización de la invención, la cantidad de colesterol de la mezcla de ácidos grasos se minimiza y se proporciona un método para su producción.
