Настоящее изобретение относится к пенопласту, включающему полипропилен, в котором упомянутый полипропилен получают в присутствии металлоценового катализатора, и пенопласт и/или полипропилен имеет(имеют) следующие значения: а) показатель разветвленности g' меньше чем 1,00 и б) индекс деформационного упрочнения ИДУ (SHI@1s) не менее 0,30, измеренного со скоростью деформации dε/dt, равной 1,00 спри температуре 180°С, где индекс деформационного упрочнения ИДУ (SHI) определен как угол наклона десятичного логарифма растягивающей нагрузки функции роста (lg(ŋE)), как функции логарифма по основанию 10 остаточной деформации Hencky (lg(ε)), в диапазоне остаточной деформации Hencky между 1 и 3.
