Abstract
Предложен способ проведения электрохимической реакции в электрохимическом элементе, содержащем электроды, разделенные мембраной, способной поглощать электролит; при этом способ включает введение в элемент топлива или другого окисляемого компонента и электролита, и окисление топлива в присутствии кислоты или щелочи. В качестве альтернативы или в дополнение, выработка топлива может контролироваться путем включения реагента, способного претерпевать или придавать изменение внешнего вида при окислении или восстановлении; и контроль любого изменения внешнего вида.
