Abstract

A mechanism serves for transferring a load carrier 2 from a rail goods wagon 1 to a truck 8 and vice-versa from the truck 8 to the rail wagon 1. The truck firstly has a raising and lowering carrier surface 9 for adjustment to the height of the rail wagon load surface, and secondly has a slide 13, incorporated into the carrier surface and moveable in the longitudinal direction of the truck, for transferring the load carrier between the truck and the rail wagon. The slide 13 has a coupling element 14 for interacting with a matching coupling element 15, 16 on the load carrier. The coupling element 14 on the slide, for example one or more outwardly aligned plates, is rigidly connected to the slide 13, such that the coupling element 14 together therewith is forcibly carried by the carrier surface 9 when the latter is raised and lowered. The coupling elements 15, 16 of the load carrier comprise two cross members, normally encountered in the load carrier 2, which can be engaged by the coupling element 14 on the load carrier. The transfer mechanism is simple and cheap, since it only requires mobility of the coupling element 14 of the slide 13 in two different directions. <IMAGE>
