Abstract
The conveyor has underfloor rail profiles (8) in which transport units (1) are guided. The latter have a platform (2) and a chassis provided with wheels (5) arranged in pairs. Between the rail profiles (8), drive wheels (38-42) are arranged which are in drive connection with a drive (19) by means of flexible drives (43-46), said drive being connectable and disconnectable by means of a clutch (30). A strip which is under spring force and is pressed on the drive wheels (38-42) is arranged on the underside of the transport unit (1). If the drive wheels (38-42) are coupled to the drive (19), the transport unit (1) is moved. As a result of the frictional engagement between the drive wheels (38-42) being separated from the wheels of the flexible drives (43-46), large loads can be reliably transported. <IMAGE>
