Description
Patent nr. 142 584 angår et extruderbart formstof på basis af en homo- eller copolymer af vinylchlorid eller vinylidenchlorid eller af efterchloreret polyvinylchlorid og indeholdende mineralsk fyldstof, glasfibre og smøremiddel, og det ejendommelige ifølge hovedpatentet er, at dette formstof pr. 100 vægtdele polymer med et viskositetsindex på 50-180, bestemt efter ISO-standard R174, indeholder: 10-60 vægtdele mineralsk fyldstof, hvori elementarpartiklernes middeldiameter er 0,05-50 ^um, 1-5 vægtdele af mindst ét smøremiddel og 5-40 vægtdele glasfibre.
Glasfibrene i det nævnte materiale er fortrinsvis 4-6 mm lange.
Dette extruderbare formstof muliggør en fremstilling i en enkelt operation af armerede, homogene genstande med et tilfredsstillende udseende og en fremragende stivhed. Dette formstof giver således i sig selv fremragende resultater.
Man har imidlertid konstateret, at ved visse former for fyldningstragte til extruderne strømmer de ovennævnte materialer i visse tilfælde vanskeligt på grund af en tendens til sammenfiltring af glasfibrene, hvilket medfører et formstof, hvori fibrene er dårligt fordelt. Dette giver en mangel på homogenitet, som medfører lokale forringelser af de mekaniske egenskaber hos det transformerede formstof og et mindre gunstigt overfladeudseende.
Man har nu konstateret, at man kan råde bod på denne ulempe ved at inkorporere glaskugler i det i hovedpatentet omhandlede produkt .
Tilsætning af 5-25 vægtdele, fortrinsvis 10-20 vægtdele glaskugler med en diameter på 0,005-0,080 mm, fortrinsvis 0,010-0,050 mm muliggør en retablering af en fri strømning, hvilket giver extru-deren en meget regelmæssig fyldning. Yderligere giver blandingen af glasfibre og glaskugler i det smeltede vinylformstof en bedre oplægning end fibrene alene. Dette resulterer i en større homogenitet af blandingen, hvilket fører til en mere glat overflade af de derudfra fremstillede profilerede genstande.
De anvendte glasfibre kan være massive eller hule og er fortrinsvis sfæriske. Man vælger fortrinsvis kugler, der på overfladen har fået en indfedtning, der muliggør en forbedring af adhæsionen til vinylformstofferne. De indføres i blandingen på samme tidspunkt som glasfibrene, som regel efter blanding af de øvrige bestanddele.
Opfindelsen illustreres nærmere ved nedenstående eksempel.
EKSEMPEL
Man fremstiller en blanding med den i nedenstående tabel angivne sammensætning ved i en hurtigblander at blande polyvinylchlorid, modificeringsmidler, smøremidler, stabiliseringsmidler og mineralsk fyldstof. Man lader temperaturen stige til ca. 120°C. Når blandingen er afkølet til ca. 40°C inkorporerer man i en langsom båndblander fibre og glaskugler.
Man extruderer den opnåede blanding ved 160-190°C i en enkelt snek-keextruder med en diameter på 60 mm og en længde på 1200 mm.
Man opnår et rør med en diameter på 200 mm og en tykkelse på 2,6 mm, idet kalibreringen foretages under vakuum.
Sammensætningen af den til fremstilling af røret anvendte blanding og egenskaberne af dette rør er anført i nedenstående tabel: Væqtdele

Den særlige tekniske virkning er som i patent nr. 142 584 at opnå et glasfiberforstærket slutprodukt med et glat overfladeudseende. Forbedringen ligger i en bedre fordeling af glasfyldstoffet, hvilket letter extruderingen, samtidigt med, at det bliver muligt at opnå et slutprodukt med en meget glat overflade og med fremragende mekaniske egenskaber (elasticitetsmodul).
Claims (2)
1. Ved det i patent nr. 142 584 omhandlede extruderbare formstof på basis af en homo- eller copolymer af vinylchlorid eller vinyli-denchlorid eller af efterchloreret polyvinylchlorid og indeholdende mineralsk fyldstof, glasfibre og smøreolie den ændring, at det endvidere pr. 100 vægtdele polymer indeholder 5-25 vægtdele glaskugler med en diameter på 0,005-0,080 mm.
2. Formstof ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at det indeholder 10-20 vægtdele glaskugler med en diameter på 0,010- 0,050 mm.
