Abstract

In a process for dyeing silicic acid glass fibres or textiles made from these fibres, with organic pigments, the glass is desized, if necessary, subjected to an acid treatment, dyed, and if necessary coated with a finish preferably impermeable to steam. The acid treatment is applied until an extraction yield of 2 % maximum, preferably 1 %, is attained and, after intermediate drying if necessary, the fibres are dyed with basic acrylic dyes having a K-value of </= 3.5 and high stability to light in a pH range of 0 to 3 by a single-bath technique for mordants and dyes, if necessary with addition of wetting agents and complexing agents at a bath ratio of 1:4 to 1:15 and a temperature between ambient temperature and 130 DEG C. After dyeing, the fibres are rinsed, neutralized and subjected to further treatment in the usual manner or dried, mordanted at pH 0 to 3, and dyed at a pH corresponding to that of a 0.5 to 2 g/l aqueous solution of acetic acid. The invention also concerns the products so obtained.
