Tag der Anmeldung: 7. Februar 1955 Bekanntgemacht am 9. August 1956Registration date: February 7, 1955. Advertised on August 9, 1956
DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
Die bekannten Verbundstoffe dieser Art habenThere are already heat-insulating, three-layer composites, in particular for items of clothing, known which have a heat-insulating layer between two waterproof layers, which is preferably sensitive to the absorption of moisture. The latter consist of waterproof fabric or possibly an airtight rubber sheet on the outside.
The known composites of this type have
The present invention is now based on the knowledge that greater suppleness can be achieved if the two in a known manner, each consisting of a plastic film, watertight Layers are so loosely connected to each other and to the insulating layer in places that they are can be shifted against each other to a limited extent.
It must of course already in and of itself in the choice of the individual layers for suppleness Properties are respected.
B. Watte,The insulating layer must therefore be soft, loose and pliable so that it does not interfere with the composite stiffened. It should therefore not be made of stiff materials such as jute, hemp, linen, kapok or Horsehair, exist. Rather, it is mainly soft materials that are used for the inclusion of Are sensitive to moisture, such as B. cotton wool,

flaumige Wollstoffe, in Betracht. But you can also use soft foams with open and closed Use cells, although the latter are better suited for other processing.
The use of plastic films is known per se in the clothing industry. There come only foils are considered, which are sufficiently tough elastic not to be in spite of the small thickness to tear. You must have a certain strength, as z. B. films made of vinyl resins, in particular made of polyvinyl chloride or its copolymers, made of polyethylene, cellulose acetate i.a. m., is own.
The way in which the foils are connected to the insulating material is of great importance. Stiff or not very flexible connections, as they are z. B. by full gluing or rigid Quilting can be obtained by sewing the foils continuously with the insulation material, are not suitable for this. The foils may only be used in places with each other and with the insulating layer be loosely connected, so that from the said two plastic films and the intermediate one The insulating layer is a unitary, cohesive composite material that is soft and is supple like a soft textile material and can be processed like one.
The plastic films must therefore be relatively thin so that the material web has the required Has suppleness. Foils that z. B. less than 0.02 mm thick, you can in certain distances of at most 10 cm with the Connect the insulating layer in a manner known per se, e.g. B. by gluing at individual points or advantageously by quilting, be it in the longitudinal or transverse direction or in both directions. If, on the other hand, foils are to be used that are somewhat thicker, e.g. B. to 0.05 mm thick, and which therefore have a greater strength, through normal joining, z. B. quilting, the material web is already too stiff and not flexible enough. In this case you have to connect the foils with the insulating material in such a way that the two foils are slightly opposed to each other.
45" einander verschieben lassen. Furthermore, it is desirable that when making the connection points, in particular the connecting seams, the distances from one another preferably not exceeding 10 cm, are worked in such a way that the two foils in the finished composite between two adjacent individual connection points or rows of connection points are a certain amount longer than the distance between them Individual connection points or rows from each other in the finished composite is. This measure can z. B. achieve the total thickness of the composite. The two foils are so z. B. between two adjacent connecting seams so much longer and wider, based on the seam spacing, than the Total thickness of the material web is, namely in the longitudinal and transverse directions Seams both in the web direction and in the transverse direction. Even if you comply with one of these Conditions, a composite is created unexpectedly even with relatively thick films, who is just as supple, d. H. is as soft and pliable as a single-layer, soft, light one and loose textile fabric, which nevertheless has the excellent 'no other' textile-like Material has achieved insulating properties and is also light and not bulky.
So that the foils can be moved in relation to the insulating material, the connecting seams must be set for this purpose Special machine made so that the tension of the thread does not affect the loose insulating material locally compresses. The sewing thread must therefore go through the entire insulating material be passed through so that none of the usual constrictions in such loose structures can enter. So it should be the sewing threads from one side of the composite to the other without local contraction of the two foils as a result of local compression of the intermediate one Insulating material can be passed through all three layers.
The plastic films are largely waterproof and impermeable to air, so that the insulating layer in between is completely protected from wind and moisture. However, it is often desirable to have a certain air permeability, e.g. B. hot air or vapors from the body through the composite to facilitate the escape into the open. In this case, in a manner known per se, the plastic films can be made somewhat air-permeable by making fine openings without their thermal insulation properties and wind and water tightness being practically impaired. In this regard, e.g. B. quilting the foils and the insulating material has the advantage that the quilted foils are air-permeable to a small extent as a result of the fine through-holes associated therewith. The heat build-up in clothes caused by the composite material by virtue of good thermal insulation can also be alleviated somewhat by using only those films which, in a known manner, are already made somewhat porous and somewhat permeable to air, but not to water, during manufacture . n 0
The material web produced in this way can be further processed as required, e.g. B. by wrapping them with fabrics and making clothes, coats, sleeping bags and the like. ' used. Through such a web of material a soft, u 5 giebiges and easily movable material post-high heat insulation for clothing purposes is created that gives a previously untapped protection against cold, rain and wind without adverse properties of the so-equipped Textiistücken.
