Daneben hat die Anmelderin zahlreiche weitere schwefelhaltige Verbindungen für den gleichen Zweck vorgeschlagen. Man kann diese Verfahren zur Herstellung von Dauerwellen auf kaltem Wege benutzen. Die Anwendung aller dieser Verbindungen geschieht so, dass die Keratine, wie Haare, Wolle usw. gegebenenfalls in auf Wickeln aufgerollter Form mit den Lösungen der schwefelhaltigen Verbindungen befeuchtet werden. Man lässt diese Lösungen eine gewisse Zeit und zwar im allgemeinen nicht länger als 1-2 Stunden einwirken, wäscht und behandelt anschliessend mit oxydierenden Mitteln, wie Wasserstoffsuper- oxyd, Bromat oder alkylierenden Mitteln, wie Trimethylendibromid, Formaldehyd u.dgl.It is known that solutions of thioglycolic acid which have been rendered alkaline by cold means are used to soften keratins.
