Der in beliebiger Grösse ausgebildete Elektroherd 4 erhält in seinem oberen Teil erfindungsgemäss einen Tragrahmen, der z. B. aus zwei Vierkantrohren 5 und 6, einem hinteren winkelförmigen Verbindungsblech 7 und eines vorderen Verbindungsblech 8 besteht. Dieser Rahmen stützt sich z. B. auf zwei Winkel 9 und 10 ab, die an dem Herd befestigt sind. Um die Schalter 10 zu schützen und ein Verspritzen des Kochgutes neben dem Fangloch zu vermeiden, wird in den Raum unter der Herdplatte 21 noch ein ringsrum laufender Schutzrahmen 22 aus Blech eingesetzt, wobei Ausschnitte zur Durchführung der Vierkantrohre in diesen Schutzrahmen vorgesehen sind. Der Halt des Schutzrahmens erfolgt entweder durch die Rohre auf die aufgesetzten Ausschnitte oder mit Hilfe von am oberen Rande angewinkelten Flächen. Der nach vorne verlängerte Rand 23 dieses Schutzrahmens dient zur Ableitung übergelaufenen Kochgutes von der Herdplatte 21 auf das Fangblech 20 und zum Schutze der Schaltergriffe und des Stirnbleches 24.
