DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
The evaporation of solutions that contain crystallizing substances, such as salts, to turn them into Bringing the crystal form to be deposited brings with it great difficulties. Many from solutions Substances that crystallize out during evaporation tend to form crusts, especially on the Places where the heat transfer primarily takes place, such as on the floor and on the walls with externally heated containers and with immersion burners on the hot walls of the burner. Apart from the fact that such crusts are mechanically removed with difficulty must, the excreted material is in irregular chunks and crusts, what in many Cases made further processing more difficult. In addition, the heat transfer through the crystal crusts considerably reduced, and there is a risk of overheating under certain circumstances. Even with spray drying, because of the relatively large and complicated devices is generally only suitable for valuable products such as dry milk and the like, there is a risk the formation of crusts on the walls. The difficulties mentioned occur in particular with Crystallization of substances that can crystallize with different amounts of water of crystallization their solutions in water-free or water-poor form.

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Kristallisieren von Stoffen, die mit verschiedenen Mengen Kristallwasser kristallisierenThe invention is a method for crystallizing substances with different Quantities of crystal water crystallize

,5 oder kristallwasserarmer Form im Kreisprozeß, das darin besteht,'daß die'Lösung in konzentrierter Form in an sich bekannter Weise mit einem gleichionigen Fällungsmittel in einem Kristallisator gemischt, die Mutterlauge, die das gleichionige, 5 or a form with little water of crystallization in the cycle, which consists in 'that the' solution in concentrated Form mixed in a known manner with a co-ionic precipitant in a crystallizer, the mother liquor, which is the equi-ionic
ίο Fällungsmittel und den Kristallwasserüberschuß enthält, von den Kristallen abgetrennt, in einem Eindampfer unter Bedingungen, bei denen praktisch noch keine Kristallabscheidung erfolgt, konzentriert und die konzentrierte Mutterlauge, neue Lösung und. gegebenenfalls eine weitere Menge eines gleichionigen Fällungsmittels in den Kristallisator gegeben wird.N ίο contains precipitant and excess water of crystallization, separated from the crystals, concentrated in an evaporator under conditions in which there is practically no crystal separation, and the concentrated mother liquor, new solution and. if necessary, a further amount of a co-ionic precipitant is added to the crystallizer. N
With the invention, the problem is solved from aqueous solutions of such substances with different Quantities of water of crystallization can crystallize, continuously and in a circular process To gain form free of water of crystallization or with little water of crystallization, the new process as per se known during crystallization, is carried out in the crystallizer and thickener.
This also eliminates the problem of working up sulfuric acid, titanium and pickling waste acids solve. Bring a sulfuric acid iron sulfate solution and / or an iron vitriol melt in the preheated Form with a circulated through an evaporator and adjusted to the desired Concentration brought sulfuric acid in a thick crystallizer for the purpose of dehydration and Crystallization together and then evaporates the diluted sulfuric acid in one downstream evaporator on again.
When evaporating waste titanium acids, it is advisable to reduce the concentration of the of iron sulfate monohydrate in a single thick crystallizer required circulating sulfuric acid in the evaporator to 60 to. 65 ° / o as in a 60 to 65% sulfuric acid iron sulfate is practically no longer soluble, and sulfuric acid to be recycled in such amounts that the sulfuric acid flowing off from the thickening crystallizer by the introduced water - diluted sulfuric acid and crystal water - ^ - on. 50 to 55% is diluted.
If pickling acids are used in this way for deposition wants to evaporate iron sulfate monohydrate, it would be enough that needed for dehydration Evaporate cycle sulfuric acid to over 40%. But here, too, it is useful to bring the circulatory sulfuric acid to 55 to 65%. The concentration of the outflow Sulfuric acid, however, is adjusted to the iron sulfate content that is acceptable for the pickling process is. It is most expedient to work with an effluent sulfuric acid from. about 40% in the around 16 g Fe / 1 are still dissolved, an acid that after appropriate dilution can flow back directly to the pickling process. Only the part of sulfuric acid which is needed for dehydration in the circuit, is carried over to the evaporator. Simultaneously you can of course use the fresh sulfuric acid required for the pickling process in the form of concentrated sulfuric acid either directly to the crystallizer or via the Add the evaporator stage.
The well-known advantages of obtaining iron sulfate monohydrate from. , Pickling acids ,, on the Evaporation path, such as avoidance of cooling and reheating, ongoing replacement of heat losses due to the refluxing hot pickling acid, pickling with high temperatures and thus an increase the pickling speed and the pickling effect, lowering of the iron sulphate content any order of magnitude are also inherent in this process. The economy of the excretion of the iron sulfate monohydrates is the greater, the higher the concentration of Sulfuric acid is used in pickling.
The essence of the invention is best at v of the schematic drawing in Fig. Ι described for titanium spent acid for the pickling acid and work-up of FIG. 2.
In the thickening zone 1 of the crystallizer the separated crystal slurry is kept in motion by an internal pumping device 2. The acid to be evaporated, e.g. B. the iron sulfate melt to be dewatered runs at 3 and the from the evaporator 5 operated for example by means of an immersion burner 4 for dehydration 60% returning sulfuric acid runs as circulating liquid at the moving crystal sump preheated to, with the freshness possibly necessary for the pickling process concentrated Sulfuric acid at 7 of the circulating fluid added ^ leads can be. The dehydration of the iron sulphate and the concentration of the thin acid currently found in the presence of a large excess of seed crystals of iron sulfate monohydrate instead, whereby a surprisingly large coarsening of the crystals occurs, a high settling speed, a high thickening volume and best filtration ability achieved will. The now diluted acid runs at 8 at the head of the thickener as a result of the ones arranged below Thickening zone 1 is practically crystal-free and partly passes through line 9 directly to Pickling process, partly through line-10 to a steamer 5.
It has surprisingly been found that the thickening in the thickening zone can be driven up to over 1000 g / l (1200 to 1400 g / l) of moist product and the filtration rate is up to over 10 t of moist product per m 2 per hour after the equilibrium has been established .
B. durch Mischung mit Koks zu Granalien zur Aufbereitung auf Eisen-To the extent of the newly added iron sulfate monohydrate at 3 1 crystal slurry is continuously withdrawn from the crystallization vessel at 11 and filtered by means of a rotary filter 12, the filtrate fed via line 13 to the evaporator and the sulfuric acid-containing, solid, dry filter cake z. sulfat und Schwefelsäure'verfofmf. Should be out For whatever reasons these 'cakes need to be washed, so can the washing water as well are fed to the Verdariipfergefäß, so that ultimately Eiserisülfatmonohydrat and 60% sulfuric acid are the result of the procedure are.
Im Falle der Eindampfung von Titanabsäuren (Abb. 2) läuft die 50- bis 55%ige: verdünnteIn the case of the evaporation of titanium acids (Fig. 2), the 50 to 55% : dilute one runs
A small amount of iron sulphate sludge separates out which is returned to the crystallizer 1 through line 15 via a settling vessel 14 is and is also coarsened there. Only the amount of sulfuric acid that is continuously produced is fed from the settling vessel 14 as a clear return flow through the line 9 of the concentration (not shown) and finally in high- concentrated form of the titanium factory.
Dampft man Beizsäuren ein, so führt man nurIf pickling acids are evaporated, one only leads
Das Ergebnis dieser Verfahrensweise ist demnach Eisensulfatmonohydrat- und vorkonzentrierte Beizsäure, die nach Verdünnung direkt brauchbar ist.the part of the sulfuric acid is returned to the evaporator, which is used to concentrate the pickling acid serves, including the iron sulfate monohydrate sludge that is still precipitating here. the remaining acid flows back to the pickling baths. The result of this procedure is accordingly Iron sulfate monohydrate and pre-concentrated pickling acid, which can be used directly after dilution.
It goes without saying that for the purpose of the A ^ experience necessary thickening crystallizers technical design that fulfills this purpose can be applied, e.g. B. also the modern ones Hydrocyclones or any other type of construction.
It is also expedient to preheat the enema acid and / or melt it down of iron sulfate heptahydrate with the waste heat of the process.
It should also be noted that when using this procedure, the evaporation with the underwater torch causes little difficulty.
Another example of general applicability is the deposition of sodium sulfate referenced from bichromate solutions used to obtain sodium bichromate. So far have been these solutions are concentrated by superheated steam, but the steam pipes with a Coat the sodium sulphate crust.
If, on the other hand, you work according to the previously described process in such a way that the bichromate solution is evaporated to a density of 1.6, with 800 to 900 g of potassium dichromate per liter, and the solution to be evaporated into the crystallizer, in which there are many crystal nuclei of sodium sulfate, admits, the sodium sulfate crystals are immediately coarsened, and the overflowing bichromate solution is completely free of crystals and can be concentrated in the evaporator. Only small amounts of sodium sulphate separate out and are pumped into the crystallizer by circulation. The crystals, which can be thickened to 800 to 1000 g or more of sodium sulfate per liter, are continuously withdrawn from the crystallizer, washed and further processed. The filtration capacity is 20 to 50 t or more of moist sodium sulfate per m 2 of filter surface per hour. The filtrate is fed back to the evaporator. The bichromate solution of the desired density is removed in proportion to the diluted solution that is added to the hay.
When evaporating aqueous sodium sulphate solutions by the salting-out process, 15 to 20% sulfuric acid is circulated and the sodium sulphate solution to be crystallized is added to the crystallizer so that the mixture is still 100% sulfuric acid. At this sulfuric acid concentration, the solubility of sodium sulphate is lowest and the salt which precipitates is pure sodium sulphate free of crystalline water. It can be enriched in the crystallizer to over 1000 g / l and has a filtration rate of 20 to 50 t or more of moist product per m 2 per hour. The filtrate is fed back to the evaporator, where there is hardly any recrystallization, since the solubility of sodium sulphate increases as the sulfuric acid content of the solution increases.
Solid or molten Glauber's salt can also be used in place of aqueous sodium sulfate solutions use for dehydration to sodium sulfate.
If a higher concentration of sulfuric acid is used in the mixed solution in the crystallizer, the crystals that form have the composition of an acidic sulphate [depending on the concentration Na 3 H (SO 4 ) 2 or NaHSO 4 ].
A 25% aqueous calcium chloride solution is circulated and fed into the crystallizer finely ground calcium sulfate dihydrate entered. The calcium chloride solution causes dehydration of the gypsum to the hemihydrate and is in the subsequent evaporator with an immersion burner concentrated to the original density. The hemihydrate is made from the crystallizer, which only needs to have a dwell time of about 5 minutes in the solution, continuously withdrawn, filtered, washed with hot water and dried at about 100 °. The properties of the plaster of paris produced in this way correspond to commercially available products.
