Description
Lubricating Oil Reservoirs for Air Cooled Diesel Engines The invention relates to a lubricating oil container, which is on the end face opposite the output side an air-cooled diesel engine, the cylinders of which are arranged vertically in a row are attached as a special component and at the same time as a carrier for the auxiliary equipment is trained.
Diesel engines. require larger lubricating oil containers than Carburetor engines. The lubricating oil in diesel engines does not need: just a longer one Time for cooling because it gets hotter, but rather: the fuel oil supply must also be larger than with carburettor machines, because some of the lubricating oil, especially * with the crankcase flush, dragged into the cylinder with the flushing flow. will and here with burns. It is because of the fluctuating oil level in diesel engines. inexpedient to accommodate the lubricating oil supply only in the crankcase, but there are mostly used for this purpose special containers that are below or next to or are arranged above the engine. This is then in addition to an oil filter a special oil cooler upstream or downstream.
This device for storing and cooling the lubricating oil provides thus often an element that disrupts the structure of the actual mash-and-fish noticeably more expensive. If these containers are also flat, they will be through. the unavoidable vibrations, the impurities that fall out of it added to the oil again and again, so that the pure oil moves from the impure to the lower Cannot separate layers sufficiently. The respective oil level is also in the container not always easy to see.
It is an air-cooled motor machine with a B.oxer arrangement Cylinder known, which is the end face coaxial with a dynamo and a this ring-shaped enclosing fuel tank is assembled. A part the cooling air for the internal combustion engine flows through the annular slot between the container wall and the housing of the dynamo for the purpose of carrying the fuel to cool.
The cream oil container according to the invention is, inter alia, from made use of this idea.
It has also been proposed to use the jacket of the cooling air fan double-walled and between the shell plates, guide plates for the Provide lubricating oil flow, which on its way from the "oil pump to the lacing points is pushed through the oil cooler formed in this way. From the thought; the the The impeller of the cooling air fan surrounding walls for cooling the lubricating oil use, the invention also makes use.
The lubricating oil reservoirs according to the invention avoids the aforementioned. Defects in the container previously used in diesel engines. The invention consists in that the container in its upper part has the cooling air fan arranged at the level of the cylinder wears, which it at least partially encloses.
Advantageous configuration measures of the 'invention contain the Subclaims that are only claimed as such.
Zur Erläuterung eines AusfiühTungsbeispiels dient die Zeichnung mit den Fig. i und a.The drawing also serves to explain an exemplary embodiment Figs. i and a.
Fig. i zeigt in vereinfachter und schematischer Darstellung einen zweizylindrigen Dieselmotoz mit Luftkühlung und dem erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölbehälter in Saitenansicht und Fi.g. a dessen Vorderansicht.Fig. I shows a simplified and schematic representation two-cylinder diesel engine with air cooling and the lubricating oil container according to the invention in string view and Fig. a its front view.
The lubricating oil container is used as an additional learning curve .both cylinder blocks - a and 3 switched. It's pretty flat, narrower at the bottom than above and quite high. The fan required to generate the cooling air flow 5 in the fan housing q. is built directly into the lubricating oil tank, so it is at least partially enclosed by this. It is kept in rotation by the V-belt 6 and from the V-belt pulley 7, which are directly on the crankshaft is wedged. The lubricating oil is from the crankcase 8 and 9 z. B. by a Lube oil pump io sucked in and pressed into lube oil tank i, from where its supply, e.g. B. by means of other pumps via filters to the lubricating oil points of the engine takes place, i i is the refill, io 'and io "additional apparatus, z. B. regulators, pumps, starters, etc., which are in the lower part of the lie. 1a is a sight glass visible from the front. Apart from that. of the fact that such a lubricating oil container is structurally advantageous in the structure of the engine and is safe with it connected, it has significant technical advantages. So becomes a special one No oil cooler required. The container wall surrounding the fan offers a relatively large cooling surface. Since now the air sucked in by the fan is attached to this If it flows along at a higher speed, the cooling effect is also very intense. Since, yes, the air has to be sucked through the fan anyway, it is necessary this effective cooling neither creates nor creates an additional surface additional flow resistance for the air flow, properties that are common to everyone separate oil coolers are inevitable. In addition, the lubricating oil is cooled precisely there where it's hottest, namely up in the tank. Because. den- relatively large height of the The cooled oil can sink quickly into the container because of the thermosiphon effect is cheap. The oil in the cream container is not only cooled by itself, it also directly cools everything built into the tank without additional lines Apparatus: The lubricating oil container also serves as a solid carrier for the fan, so it eliminates the need for the otherwise necessary support frame. Because the bottom of the lubricating oil tank is narrower than when viewed from the front of the machine above, the sinkers collect in a small space below and can be easily drained, will. It makes the sensitive V-belt effective against the radiant one Heat the cylinder and any oil splash shielded. A spacious oil reservoir anoints this type hardly increases the external dimensions of the engine. He also saves them otherwise necessary racks for the auxiliary machines .. The fan belt .with any The tension pulleys remain easily accessible, and a possible belt breakage is immediate apparently. This is the case with fast running engines. if the belt breaks Immediate overheating, with its damaging consequences, is less likely. The sight glass attached to its front wall shows the observer immediately any lack of oil. It is usually also useful to subdivide this lubricating oil container. So z. B. serve the lower part as a collecting sump for the impure oil that is then forced up through the filter by a pump.
